    Remember to keep yourself warm throughout the whole stretching process so your muscles are more relaxed and more pliable. In cold rooms or winter LAYER UP with flexible clothing to trap the heat in.

    I appreciate this guys advice. It's just that he has been practicing for a while so dont assume that you will be where he is if your just starting out. He is demonstrating on a more advanced level. Imagine if he just started for the first time it probably wouldn't look that cool just saying

      you weren't stretching wrong. this is just to help progress faster. Anna McNulty doesn't do this in none of her workouts. watch how flexible she is.
      btw, this works in other exercise like frog stance, etc.

    I've now tried 3 programs since last year's lock down began and I still can't get the side splits. I've done this Russian guys isometric, then easy flexibility and lastly yannis christoulous programme. I don't want to give up.

      Flexibility and such difficult positions like the middle splits can take many years for some people to achieve. It's important to realise this. If you follow our principles and are consistent with the training you'll see progress. Patience and persistence are important with flexibility training.

    I don’t know how long you guys legs are, but always have this feeling that if you have long long legs mobility is harder to achieve. Is there any truth in this or am I barking up the wrong tree?

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline  5 років тому

      It's just a matter of being able to do a solid front lever, once you can do that then the row will come. That said, we're still working on a solid front lever ourselves ... so we will give you some better advice soon when we nail the move :)

    Hi guys what routine would you recommend to get higher roundhouse kicks I can really only
    kick about hip height and even lifting the leg feels the front of the hips to be really tight when I do it. Im keen to stretch daily in the morning just work on flexibilty. And would do a seperate warm up before training. Any help is appreciated. Cheers

    • @SapiaNt0mata
      @SapiaNt0mata 4 роки тому +1

      high kicks is tied to middle splits. the lower you can go the higher you can kick, so practice middle splits. but not everyday. middle/front splits stretching is intense(especially if you make 2-3 rounds of the routine of exercises) so you need to take a day off between sessions. if you do daily leg stretching you will overload the muscles and you won't see results. most likely you will regress.

    should your knees be facing up or facing forward? as in should you be abducting your femur strictly with your knees facing forward, or is it more like sitting and pulling your legs backwards with your knees up? hope my question makes sense.

    • @UnityGymOnline
      @UnityGymOnline  4 роки тому

      Forwards puts more medial pressure on the knee … doesn't really matter in regards to flexibility gains. Just depends how conditioned your knees are.

    • @spacemansabs
      @spacemansabs 4 роки тому +1

      Unity Gym but each way will put a different demand on your hip socket. Is one way safer than the other or is there a benefit of one over the other?

    • @UnityGymOnline

    Sometimes I feel a strain on my left knee and hip joint when I stretch for splits, what does that mean?

    • @bce6936
      @bce6936 3 роки тому

      If it's just a strain and if you only stretch two things are possible: weak/tight leg muscles or lack of warm up

    • @bce6936
      @bce6936 3 роки тому

      also could be a lot of other stuff, but these two are usually the main factors

    • @UnityGymOnline

      Of course not brother! Like all movements we need time to optimise our technique and get stronger in them. If you need to start with assistance, by all means do so and see if you can improve little by little each week. Keep up the great work!
