Hannah's version of "No Good Deed" is the version of Elphaba that I've always wanted. Not quite evil, but angry and tired and fed up and if you pushed her, her going evil is purely your fault and you will feel it for the rest of your existence.
I completely agree!!!!
you should listen to the german elphie, willemijn verkaik doing this song! think you'll like it, she's incredible
Yeah, no disrespect to Idina (she's fantastic, seriously), but Hannah performs this so damn well, and even though she's never actually evil, and just pulls a ploy to hide away from everyone that blames her for... well, everything, in this moment she's ready to be the wicked witch they all think she is, and it's so believable! Plus, I loved her choices and adlibs. So good!
I think it's really good, but I feel like this song loses something without the full music
Besides her incredible voice, I think Hannah’s phrasing and line reading is just stunning. Every time I watch the performance and she says “Let all Oz be agreed”, I get INSANE CHILLS.
Yes!!
I was literally going to say this. Previously many words I couldn’t get without looking at lyrics, but her enunciation and phrasing is fantastic
Her tiny bit of vibrato in so many words is also really cool. Maybe you'd even call it tremolo?
@@martinbsmith3 it adds such angst
Her pronunciation on “wicked” gave me chills
I was able to see her on broadway live when I saw wicked. She is such a new, modern and contemporary version of Elphaba. She was 100% the whole show. She brings so much edgy and difference to the character. She is not a traditional Elphaba and I love it. Hands down one of the best Elphabas.
Completely agree!
I saw her in January of 2020 she’s really different from other elphabas, its like she puts a lot of emotion into actually being elphaba rather then just singing the song
So, Hannah’s version of this song made me realize a lot about Elphaba. No Good Deed is Elphaba finally realizing that, without meaning to, she’s been the villain in everyone’s story but hers. Shes finally embracing the role of villain that has been placed on her, and Hannah totally embodies this.
"I'm too much of a Glinda" - Hannah Bayles.
Me: Does that mean that if we beg, you would record and sing Thank Goodness?
Hmm.... I'll consider it. 😛
Better: *Popular*
plz i beg
I will join the beg wagon!
here i am begging
british editor appreciation 🥰✨
I'm glad you love Vieve as much as I do!!
Shucks guys!
@@HannahBayles yeah she’s so awesome! 👏
@@GingerGrape2503 you’re so good at what you do!!
Her voice is unreal and her acting is amazing even in a non-character setting. I can’t believe I’d never heard of her before now. Wow.
I know you tend to do more feminine/higher range voices but it’d be amazing to see you react to Patrick Page as Hades from Hadestown. Any of the songs he’s in are breathtaking. I’m not sure I knew people could sing that low haha
yes! i’ve also asked for patrick page!! hope she follows our requests
I would love to see that!
oooh! yes!
Yes I love his voice and that musical!
yes!! I’d love to see her react to a deeper voice
This is the song that define good elphabas. The great climax of the show, when she finally become the wicked witch of the west. what a good performance btw
If there is anyone I want to play Elphaba for the Wicked movie it is HANNAH CORNEAU!!! She is phenomenal. This is my favorite song from Wicked because of Hannah! The hair on my arms stand up, i have goosebumps on goosebumps every time i hear this.
And the acting! Gosh, perfection
Yes, and she’s still pretty young, so it’d work!
She actually went in for the audition for the movie lol!
@@AlexandraMussar wait, are they actually casting people now?????
Also I swear if they cast only A-Listers I’m hurting someone
Ive never heard her before and holy crap her acting and vocal control is INCREDIBLE.
Certain Elphaba's voices work so well with that opt up in "Fiyero" and her's is SO GOOD
Hers is the only one I've ever heard that ends on the opt up, usually if they do it they start the 'OOO' up there and come back down. I like it this way, it sound more... anguished, I guess.
@@nudgificator Willemijn Verkaik did the opt up sometimes during her run. Rachel Tucker was the first to do it iirc.
I just wanna talk about how I'm Hannah, watching Hannah, watching Hannah.
Same! 😂 I’m Hannah, replying to Hannah who is commenting on Hannah’s video reacting to Hannah.
Im not Hannah but Im proud to witness this crossover
Saw her on broadway like 2 years ago and at first i was iffy but her defying gravity and the rest of her was amazing
I saw her on Broadway too and she was awesome
yeah i saw her and defying gravity gave me chills
Jordin Sparks doing She Used to Be Mine is FLAWLESS
also shoshana bean
YES i cry every. time.
YES SHE’S PERFECT
Yes please do this!
For me, Alison Luff’s version is the best one I’ve heard, but they’re all amazing.
Hannah corneau has a phenomenal no good deed. One of my favourite elphabas for this song ever! Clicked so fast since it never gets old 💚
Side note: Hannah corneaus mixing ability rivals that of Jessica vosks (who is the mixing QUEEN 👑) and that's why she is one of my favourite elphabas 👏
The song comes out of a place of pure pain, pure betrayal and pure anger at the realization of it all. Needs to be sung accordingly. 💚💚💚
Wicked is definitely one of my favorite musicals. And you HAVE to go see Wicked when Broadway reopens. It’s a definite must see even if you know all the songs and the storyline- the production is just amazing! I’ve seen it a couple times on Bway and I don’t think I can ever get tired of it. It’s so good!
Which casts did you see?
I SAW HER ON BROADWAY
I went to New York in my birthday about 2 years ago and went to see wicked with her as Elphaba
It was magical!! I swear everyone was amazing, but Hannah was just incredible! I'm a huge fan of her now ❤❤❤
This version of no good deed always makes me sad that these versions aren’t on Spotify so I can’t add them to my musical theater playlist
I thought I didn't like that song. But now, I do. Hannah Corneau must have cast a real spell here.
She and Jessica vosk remind me of each other, not in sound but in vocal control, knowledge, and talent!! Love them both!!
She has one of the most AMAZING voices I’ve EVER heard. EVER.
She was my 1st Elphaba and she was incredible. People were quick to compare her to Jessica Vosk but I think she held her own
mine too! she totaly killed it.
They both have lower tones, but they have such unique voices and change different things in the song. I saw Jessica when she was with the national tour and she was amazing!
I hate how they compare everyone to Vosk
I got to see Hannah on Broadway and her voice was amazing throughout the entire performance, but she is probably one the best ACTING Elphababs I’ve ever seen! She made some amazing choices!
I was lucky enough to see Hannah as Elphaba in November 2019 and I was completely blown away. Her range and emotion she conveys while singing is mindblowing. I was completely immersed in the story because she made the audience FEEL every word she sang. Simply phenomenal.
You know what I'm obsessed with? SHE'S ENUNCIATING! The double D in No Good Deed, I'm OBSESSED.
I saw her four times live (including her two last performances) and believe me or not she was even BETTER.
"My soul has left my body" I - same 💀
I absolutely loooove her version of No Good Deed! So happy you reacted to it!
I get chills every single time I hear hannah sing this song, it's for one an insane important moment in the Wicked story, but also Hannah is singing this soooo impeccable and full of (her) Elphaba's emotions
You should react to Hamilton in 7 Minutes by RANGE a cappella! (Hannah Corneau is in it 😉)
I love range omfg. Have you listened to their newest song “six in 6 minutes”?? Hannah sings for Jane Seymour! It’s so good!!!
@@AlexandraMussar NO I HAVEN’T BUT NOW I NEED TO
@@elizahamilton6271 ITS ON SPOTIFY AND APPLE MUSIC GO LISTENNNNNN!!!! (And tell me what ya think!)
@@AlexandraMussar Omg. Idek what to say that was so beautiful-
@@elizahamilton6271 hehehehe im glad i could tell ya about it!!
I LITERALLY THOUGHT TO MYSELF I WISH HANNAH WOULD REACT TO THIS LIKE 10 MIN BEFORE SHE POSTEDDDDDDDDD
This is amazing! There’s an acoustic version of no good deed by willemijn verkaik (she did wicked in Germany, the Netherlands, on Broadway and westend!) and it’s 👏🏼incredible👏🏼
Ooh her acting is brilliant! Also I have caught lyrics I haven't before due to the clarity of her words.
Her voice is out of this world! She makes it seem as if this song is way easier than it is because of how confidently she handles it. She is vocally solid!
i saw her a few years back as elphaba and my god she slayed. she gave me chills
Wow. Hannah Corneau has a really nice voice and her expressions are great. Really bringing feeling into the song.
Hannah I just love how you really explain everything. I can hear the difference between notes but wouldn't know which note it is but you definitely make me sing a lot better! I listen to your feedback and if it's a song I know I go along with your feedback. You're amazing!
I come back to this video at least every other month. So much to love here ❤❤
Please react to Danna Paola! She played elphaba in wicked Mexico and is the youngest elphaba, being 18 years old when she played her. She’s insanely talented especially for being at that young age. She’s obviously a bit older now but it still applies haha.
Please react to Jessica Vosk singing no good deed, it’s out of this world!
THIS is how Elphaba should be performed. A great balance between acting and singing. Not another cookie cutter showy vocal athletics version, she makes it hers. It’s more of an operatic style interpretation, with varying levels of intensity and a really nice rise & fall/back & forth.
I’d rather watch this 100 times, than hear one more Defying Gravity cover. This song is HARD.
Hannah, you gotta go see wicked asap! It's my favorite musical ever and Elphaba is my dream role lol
YES i literally was thinking the other day "i wonder if hannah has reacted to this video"!! amazing video :)
hannah corneau is for sure one of my fav performers at the moment!!
I'm such a low-key fan of Hannah Corneau eversince they caught my attention in RANGE covers. I have no idea about singing or anything about the technicalities of it but I got the same chills when I first whatched this. Love seeing you reating to them 💙
I was so blown away by that performance - thank you for taking this apart, I love hearing your technical explanations Hannah!
This video just confirmed my resolve that I am going to see Wicked one day. I WILL see Wicked one day gosh dang it lol
every post i cry when its not the flash episode.... that said im still enjoying your reactions. keep up the good work.
You should react to Lindsay Mendez singing Sara berry. She’s a belting queen 🥰
Darn right
Hannah Corneau is so amazing in this role. I wish her version of these songs were on Spotify.
There are so many emotions in the way she sings!
I'd never heard her Elphaba (and my fave is Jessica Vosk), but wow, is she impressive. That line delivery on the second "Fiyero", when she takes it up? Her line readings of "seeking good" and "ice-cold"? Her "so be it then"? The last belt? Chills. CHILLS.
Yesssss she's fantastic, thank you for the video Hannah 😭💚
I LOVE HANNAH SINGING NO GOOD DEED. She just fully embodies this song and its emotional flows. She is stunning
I've been waiting for you to react to Hannah for so long!!!! Her rendition is so full of emotion, her acting is breathtaking!
Literal chills the first time I heard this, she gets the malevolence in there. Amazing.
Constant chills! Constant chills!
She's UNREAL omgggg!! You should react to sierra boggess and ramin karimloo from the phantom 25th anniversary performance (particularly point of no return or all I ask of you/reprise bc WOWWW) or ben forster singing gethsemane!!
OMG I love that you reacted to this! I have been obsessed with this video and loved hearing your thoughts!
I don't even know what to say, that whole performance was so captivating. My face was just :0
literally watching this over and over again bc of how fucking good this performance is and how much i’ve been wanting hannah to react to it
I am so happy you reacted to this video! I got to see her as Elphaba and she is just as amazing live!!!! :)
Binge watching Hannah’s videos (again) and see a reaction video to one of my favourite versions of no good deed! Oh my gosh I have never been this early before!!
Who agrees that Hannah looks beautiful today? ❤️
Me!
She looks great all the time
@@KeepCalmContemplateYourChoices tru
I know literally no singing terms so forgive me if this isn't articulated well, but I love how the way she sang the ending of the word "supply" in the line "one more disaster I can add to my generous supply" is reminiscent of the way the notes at the end of Defying Gravity are sung. The updownupdown thing.
although I already knew that performance I definitely shed more than one tear watching that video and was covered in goosebumps the whole time omg this is SO good
hannah is absolutely incredible, she holds a v special place in my heart bc she was the elphaba i saw when i went to nyc and saw wicked. it was the first ever broadway show i saw and was honestly the best experience i’ve ever had, she’s without a doubt one of my favourite elphaba’s along with jessica vosk. i feel so fortunate to have been able to go to nyc and to see wicked especially with such an amazing cast, smth ill never forget!
also a note- she was even better when we saw her than she is in this vid... which is very hard to believe.
I have been waiting for this one!!! MY ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE VERSION OF THIS SONG!!
hannah i love you!
I’ve never seen Wicked and I had no ideia who was Hannah Corneau before this video, she is amazing omg
Yaaasss!! I haven't watched this yet but I am obsessed with this song and her version especially!
Hannah you literally always make my day always putting a smile on my face thank you for being you
I love this performance so much and probably watch it more often than I should so this was exciting to see 🤩🤩
I had the HONOR to meet and work with Hannah around 8-ish years ago. Not only is she THIS insanely talented in person but she is one of the most thoughtful, caring and darling woman I have ever met. She is a gem and I can’t wait to see where her careers leads from here. ❤️❤️❤️
OMG how did I just listen to No Good Deed without thinking WICKED ever!? She TOTALLY made this Shiz her own!
Omg yes this is my favorite song from Wicked! The Hannahs are amazing!
ive been waiting for this one !!!!
You really need to look into Jemma Rix I promise you won’t regret it!! She sang defying Gravity and Let It Go both before 9 am!! She is the current Aussie Elsa and was our Elphaba from 2008-2015(6?), she has also been Molly in Ghost, Wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz, she has her own album and many more!
Please react to Nothing But Thieves, their lead vocalist Connor Mason is phenomenal. I'd recommend all their songs but 'Sorry', 'I'm not made by design', 'Particles' and 'Lover please stay' are some of my favourites. Keep up the amazing content
I got to see her live for my birthday and started CRYING.. her voice is so pretty
PLEASE do more Jessica vosk in wicked. Please. Her no good deed is the best I’ve ever heard
Preach she is amazing 🤩
I saw her in wicked in 2019!! Best show and performance I've ever watched.
I love her voice sm
Omg hannah i wish channel could grow so fast as yours is growing love u hannah 💛
I saw her back in January 2020! My dad and I went to see wicked the musical. She did an amazing performance as elphaba. I’ll never forget it!!!
The opt up she does at the end is Jessica vosk's!! Its so good
I literally loved when I saw wicked
omg Hannah you're so funny!! i don't know anything about singing but you still make these videos so entertaining for people like me and somehow you manage to explain everything in a way that i can understand it :))
hannah was Elphaba in Wicked show which was my first time to watch and she was LITERALLY AMAZING. I still remember it and I regret that I did not get programme. I wish I would be able to watch her wicked show again!!!!!
Ahhh I saw her on Broadway as Elpheba (I’m from the UK so it was really a treat) and AHHH awesome
I went to see a touring production of wicked in 2008-2009. It was both my first musical I ever saw live that wasn’t a school production, and it was a present from my parents only 6 or so months before my mom passed away. I will always remember that birthday.
Thank you!!! I’ve wanted you to react to this for a while!!!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️
This is amazing. Wow. Thanks for the incredible video!
I saw Wicked when I was 13 in the summer of 2014 and fell in love. I was already into singing and musical theater but it cemented my love and appreciation for what goes into it. I ended up applying to and getting into the art school in my city which happens to be the first public performance and visual arts high school in the U.S.A. I was a vocal major and I now have 4 years of classical Vocal training. I also got to do some musical theater, jazz, and others while there and it was an amazing experience. It's a joke between my best friend and me that we would have hated high school if we didn't go to an art school.
Omg I remember asking you to react to this when you first started. I’m so happy!!!
Oh my goodness! I saw one play on Broadway and it was Wicked! It was absolutely AMAZING you NEED to see it! You are awesome :)
watching this is something i NEEDED but did not expect because hannah is HANDS DOWN my favourite elphaba
Please react to Alison Luff singing She Used to be Mine! It’s insane!!
Please react to Even when/The best part by Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Basset
They sing two different songs at the same time!! It made me cry, it’s so good!
Also I love your content!
Can we just talk about her diction, facial expressions, and character embodiment a moment? Good god, she’s amazing!!!!
Jessica Vosk and Willemijn Verkaik (singing this in German), respectively, are just incredible singing this as well. I highly recommend you check them out as well.
