When I was 12 I grew up outside of York Pa. Near my home was a smelly papermill town called Spring Grove. Back in the 70s believe it or not there were no cell phones or Google Earth. But what we did have is a local network of kids on bikes. The legend was that there was a bass pond filled with fish 5 feet long! But it was guarded by an old man who worked for the Gladfelter Papermill. But nobody actually knew where this pond was. As it goes with most urban legends there is a grain of truth in the story. So one day we’re were in the Rutters Farm store buying ice teas and trying to get a peek at the new Playboy Magazine when in walked a crew from the mill. My friend, Mark, asked about this pond and the one old guy said he knew where it was and drew a map for us. He did remind us that it was on the paper mills property and there was a fence around the house and pond. We immediately went home, got our fishing poles tackle box and Schwinn Stingrays loaded up. We followed the stone lane for what seemed to be miles. The gate was unlocked but closed. We rode in and after going past the “haunted house” we found the pond. It even had a rotted dock. We quickly got to fishing and immediately Mark got a hit. He pulled in this big old large mouth. We were stunned, it was TRUE! Suddenly we hear this “HEY ! Get OFF that dock!” Some old man in overalls was walking towards us. We had no where to run. Looks like we are going to jail. Or worse..Telling my dad. He said. “If you wanna fish do it over there, this dock is too dangerous . And are you hungry, my wife can make you peanut butter and jelly if you want.” Turned out he lived in the old “haunted”house and was the care taker of that property that belonged to Gladfelter papermill. He was super cool and his wife was very kind. He even threw our bikes in his pickup and dropped us off at home that evening. Mark and I never told anyone about our secret spot and we fished there every year, and ate PB&Js….

If its not a private marina then you should be able to fish it from the shore as long as its not posted "No Fishing'. Some public marinas around here don't allow it due to the boat traffic in the area (its pretty obvious when you see all the boats) and all the boat traffic is probably spooking the fish anyway.

"Marina's".... I've dealt w/ this most of my life & it's a big deal in fresh water too... lol, anywhere boats are stored or you pay for a slip
you'll find this problem. Even w/ people who own waterfront property want to move you off. The biggest problem is theft & I really
understand their concern but I'm not a thief. I tried it but had too much of a conscious & after I told on myself I simply didn't do it
anymore. Having said all that, these overzealous owners along w/ their security operate to run folks off. Fishermen & brazen bad
guys will challenge them & for the most part the cops will make you leave or come up w/ a "line" that you can't cross. Hey, did you
say you research places using various "Apps" to help you pick spots? That would be a good video to see, new fresh content that
shows how you might approach a location to fish using your PC & Apps together = what you look for in a prime spot? I'm happy
w/ all I've seen but it's a topic some might like? So might be the ways you catch the bait you use, if you catch your own?
As I said, I like what you already do here but when I see a box of fiddler crabs I wonder if you caught them. thanks man

IT's true Northstar, in about 1977 I stole out of a Seniors Apartment storage area..... I got a set of silverware, camera,
and a case of vintage early 1900's wine/liquor. After 2-3 days I told on myself, my parents called cops, and I gave all
of it back EXcept the case of wine - I thought the neighborhood kids should be shared with.... lol, as for marina's, I've
done security around one so I've seen them come in on boats to loot other boats. Lots of them come as fishermen &
I hate stealing. I'd help someone to eat/clothe or give them a ride but stealing normally is part of a much bigger issue
like drinking or addictions. As for my career in theft, it was short & I leaned that it ate at my subconscious so I was
cured early on. Everyone takes sH!T at least once & some never stop until police are involved. I know you've been
thru it as well - I do digg your empathy ~ peace man

Yes Northstar, there are things that happen where another will not let it go. Unfortunately that's gonna be a family
member or close friend to the family & the reasons that people don't forgive can be many but from where I sit the
crap that got taken was just that, "Crap". BTW, crap can be gold/money or the car & I call it crap b/c replacement
is generally not too hard whereas you can't replace a family member. If you grew outta whatever the issue w/ them
was then you go straight forward doing the best ya can & if they want to hold onto old sH!T, after a while of their
hanging on it literally can make people sick inside but you aren't the cause & if you got it together then that's all
you can do. I still have a couple of cousins who're so greedy over an Uncle's wealth & their fear I might get some
that they spend most their lives trying to down me.... lmao, I don't even think I'm on his will but they're letting it
drive them mad....... let them drive themself mad & I was the black sheep - Do well -n- live right and all those
around you will see it in you. The naysayers will see it as well but no amount of lies can take good away just
because you acted foolishly in the past. It's over/done with ~ peace & GB You/yours

It appears that this is a storage marina and not occupied by live-aboards. No problem fishing in this marina. I used to live on my vessel in a marina. I always hated it when some guy thought it was ok to fish in my backyard. I think most people would think it rude if some stranger showed up at your home and felt entitled to fish outside your front door. Another reason we don't like people fishing next to our boats is because a lot of these guys make a lot of noise and disrupt the peace of our homes. Plus, it's not really smart because a lot of liveaboards don't go to the pump-out to empty their waste tanks. Not everyone is responsible and many simply dump their crap in the marina water. At least he throws the fish back because eating them could be harmful to your health. It is also a stupid place to swim, not only because of the pollution but because of the stray electrical current that occurs in the water when shore power cords end up hanging in the water. More than one person has been electrocuted from swimming in a marina.
