GUSTY WIND causes BUMPY APPROACH for this ATR72 turboprop at Bristol Airport (4K)

- Another region of low-pressure hit the UK on 7th April 2022, with gusts of 41 knots (47mph) occuring at times with thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail and squally conditions. The pilots of this Aurigny ATR72-600 turboprop (G-OGFC) aircraft did an excellent job and make a smooth landing after what was quite a bumpy approach, battling against the strong winds as they arrived from Guernsey, Channel Islands at 1:45pm. 💨🌩 This was flight GR642/AUR642D. 🛬

It looked like the pilot dived through the gusty wind and made a very nice landing.

I'm gonna go ahead and go out on a limb and say that that pilot is used to this kind of turbulence, flying back and fro to Guernsey probably several x daily. Great piloting skills, fantastic video sir!

It´s a typical manouevre which pilots usually perform under such windy conditions. They had everything fully under control during the approach. Only after the touchdown they had for a few seconds really to work to hold the aircraft on the runway. :-)
