Hi Brian i am using cubase 10 as well and looking for ways to improve workflow. What did you choose to install on ipad? (Osc,lemur, metagrid)? Thanks yaron
Brian, I've been reading bad reviews that Lemur is not getting support and is functional on iPad. I see this video is from 2019. Are you still using this setup and if so, what are your workarounds. It's super intriguing in your video. I just don't want to go down that road if the apps mentions are going to be a nightmare. Would love your feedback.
Late reply, but; I've been using Lemur since it was a hardware device (pre-iPad), and I just bit the bullet and switched to a different app :( TouchOSC2 is pretty great, and it does some thing a LOT better than Lemur ever did.
Yep. Would love to see your lemur template creation👍🏻 I do own lemur... never fell in love with it. But I’m aware it’s excellent - would be great to see what you’re doing with it - maybe even a tutorial if you’re willing
Hi Brian, thank you for this. I like the gear but I am not into mixing. I do a lot of data analysis and use Windows, and your 5 macros video got me intrested. i wonder what this Keyboard Maestro could do for my workflow compared with dedicated macro keys in keyboards. thank you
Oh man! I want the mk2 so bad! It's such a good upgrade over the original but... I already have the original. Seems silly to upgrade if I already have one. 😅
Dude, this might sound dumb, but that color button that opened up the palette blew my mind more than I'd like to admit. Then you used echo to make a new guitar track! 🤯😆

How did you set up your Keyboard Maestro? Any chance you'd share settings? P.S. Nice work with Echo integration... I'd love something similar (which doesn't share data with Amazon, etc.)
Sadly, Lemur is no more. (unless you have an old tablet that still has it installed). TouchOSC mk2 (now renamed TouchOSC, with the old version renamed mk1 ) seems like a reasonable replacement and is actively supported.
Hi! how to make the pads a solid color + text on it? CustomButtons have a border line only, no solid color. And the regular Pads do, but the no text option? ...
Ha, I love that you so bravely ventured into this macro deep dive. I also have been integrating keyboard maestro, stream deck, Lemur and more recently Soundflow, which is Pro Tools based. I share your view that doing work creating these types of macros ultimately reduces friction when in the creative process. It's a different mind state which ultimately can become its own obsession, but super fun regardless. Cheers!

At 2:00 you mention that you've tried other apps than Lemur. Have you tried the Cubase iC Pro? Seems to be the official one from Steinberg, but it doesn't seem like that many are actually using it.
Lemur should work on windows. For macros and short cuts I know of AutoHotkey. Never used it personally, but I read that it’s the closest thing to Keyboard Maestro for Windows.
Steam deck conduct me to Keyboard Maestro and KM drive me here. It's very interesting. I look forward to know more about KM and I'm glad someone talking about all this stuf with the "musician producer" viewpoint. Thank you.
Hey, Brian! Thanks for the Lemur Template download! It's already speeding up my workflow. QUESTION - how did you link the colors in Lemur to Cubase? I can't find an option for that in the Studio Setup window. Is this a macro?
I first made sure I have my default color setup just right. Then I made a project logical editor preset for each color. Then I trigger the presets from Lemur using a midi CC. Please note that in Cubase 12 they changed they way you can trigger project logical editor presets. So now you have to make the presets and then create a macro within Cubase that triggers the preset. And have Lemur trigger the macro you created. It sucks, but it works :)
@@BrianRivlin Thanks Brian! This all makes sense to me, but I am having issues finding the correct categories to select within the Project Logical Editor.
