This is really sad. It really breaks my heart to see the whole strip like a ghost town. I pray that this chaos goes away quickly. I miss Vegas so bad. I was suppose to go there on April for a wedding and now it got postponed. STAY STRONG AND HEALTHY.
It's actually kind of peaceful. Locals getting a break from all the crowds and getting the chance to enjoy the strip without the traffic. Feel bad for the small businesses though. I hope they can recover.

I heard rumors that it's gonna be like this for a few months at least, so we need to get use to it if that's the case. I've stayed in the Luxor, The Aria, The Signature, Linq, and Red Rock (off the strip). The streets are never THIS empty.
It's going to be tough. I read that some places are taking reservations from May 1st, which seems ambitious. I'm not really sure how many people want to travel this soon but I think it will take a while for visitor numbers to rebound.

Our trip was scheduled for March 30 - April 2. Wouldve been the 1st time for 3 people in our small group. Have you ridden the Strip like this before where no one is honking at you and no one is stepping off the curb in front of you? My parents used to drag me to Vegas at least once a year in the 70s. Thank goodness Circus Circus was there because it was the only place I could get in. There weren't gargantuan casinos and hotels. We stayed in motels. Colorful light bulbs all along the Strip were spectacular! Shrimp cocktails were served everywhere. Thank you for this historic view of Las Vegas. Also, where was the famous Las Vegas sign? That's one thing I've never seen in person :-(
When I was a kid, we would go to Reno and yep, we got dropped off at Circus Circus to play games. I've been fortunate during the rare times that I ride the strip. Not many have honked at me but there has been the occasional inattentive driver who has given me a scare. I hope your next visit is great!

Good question! That's a failed project called, "The Skyvue Las Vegas Super Wheel," or just Skyvue. It was going to be a giant Ferris Wheel. Started in 2011, conked out in 2014, land put up for sale in 2015.
Just saw a video today (it was published a few months ago) and they said the old roller coaster ride from Sahara called "Speed" was suppose to be relocated near the ferris wheel that got canceled. The roller coaster was part of the NASCAR themed area at Sahara. My wife and I did ride it once during its 10 year life span. We thought it was an awesome ride.
