"It is from the collection of Frederik VII. And it's a coin of his ancestor, Frederik III, which was sold in an auction in the 19th century. And one theory as to its existence is that it was a special coin produced for the king, Frederik III, to either use as a payment or as a gift. But just an absolutely stunning coin in its quality and its history and its provenance."

"L. E. Bruun was of a class and of a generation of coin collectors. They bought individual coins. They might go to an auction at Sotheby's or a local auction in Copenhagen and purchase a coin or many coins out of a significant collection. But he also collected collections. He bought entire collections from collectors."

"He said, what if the Danish national collection goes up in smoke or is stolen or whatever? What happens? So, I'm going to leave my collection as a reserve. If the Danish national collection goes up in smoke or whatever, then my collection will be a gift to the Danish state. So, the clock starts ticking when he passes. 100 years pass. If the Danish national collection is still in existence, which it is today, it triggers an auction sale, basically."

"I think the will and testament were pretty ironclad, there was no loophole to be had basically to get the coins, to be sold, whether at auction or to the Danish state or whatever. But here we are 100 years from his death, or over 100 years at this point, and looking forward to the sale, the auction and to benefit Bruun's direct descendants that are going to benefit."

This one has been the best open secret ever."
