- Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau is required to conduct a census to determine the number of people living in the country.
But VERIFY viewer Denise D. of St. Petersburg said she recently received a letter claiming to be from the Census Bureau for something called the “American Community Survey,” which she thought could be a scam.
She was alarmed that the notice stated her response was required by law.

I through three of the ACS into the trash. When the Census worker came to visit, I gave her the "Not no, but hell no" response. I never heard from the Census buttwipes again.
This is intrusive survey and not legitimate. THE QUESTIONS DO NOT RELATE TO CENSUS. BEAT IT
I tried taking the online census. What a joke that was. Theirs no skip button, how am I supposed to fill that out when I live alone and single? It keeps asking about "You AND your family". The online census was NOT made for individuals living by them selves. It treats you as if you are a group.
Their only weapons, empty threats and fear
Just about.
We just got one, tossed it in the trash. Not answering that crazy crap….
I just did mine online and left a ton blank and submitted it. If they want to fine me, do so. I'd rather pay the 5k than answer some of these questions.
Those questions are not all that unusual on Census forms here in the UK, and people do get prosecuted if they refuse to take part, but then, I live in a country where you have to pay the government a separate tax so that they can tell you their version on the news.
If all they need is a head count than why they rediculus question of dificulity climbing a stair or questions of that sort. What year a house was built lol look it up people pay property tax its rediculis
It’s disguised as a scam lol.
Most of it is stuff they have no business knowing.
It's non of Census Business
