The contouring consistency is amazing on some of the material combinations!! The compliant anti backlash is so elegant! Lovely. Post apocalyptic tech is the best.
As I will show in future videos: The smaller the diameter of the electrode wire, the finer the resulting lines. I have already tested 0.2mm tungsten wire and that works fine. 0.1mm tungsten and and steel wires are ordered. Stay tuned!
What an excellent name! :) When I saw your Short about this a few days ago I Googled "wagner hammer", but I don't recommend searching for thanks to a certain Russian mercenary group. :(
Coole technik!
Very interesting. You always do things that no one else do on UA-cam!
this is really a creative idea! congratulations!

Super interesting. I love these basic experiments for these fancy (in industry) yet simple procedures
Thanks!
...and more and more of these production methods enter private workshops. We live in exciting times!
Would love to see more done on this.
You're set up there Engraving the token it's very interesting
I am working on more videos. The one under construction is about current and force of a Wagner Hammer. Stay tuned!
@@HomoFaciens cool
No, hot. Sparks generate enough heat to melt steel ;-)

Yes, it is not that common. There is only an article in the German Wikipedia:
de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wagnerscher_Hammer
Awesome, very interesting. Engraving metal, so much more satisfying than plastic.
Thanks!
And without rotating, sharp tools or dangerous laser light, it is a safe way to introduce CNC machining to students.

Cool to see how it works on not perfectly planar surfaces too
Thank you for the video! I wonder why you don't have a patreon?
Ah i see in the description - just not advertised at the end of the video
I saw this on a simple EDM implementation. It's interesting there's another name for it.
Very interesting ... thx.
super !
Danke für den Hinweis auf den Hammer. Klappt nicht schlecht für die simple Technik.
Neato!
Danke.
Would if be possible to make pcbs at home with this methode or do the engravings not go deep enough?
As told in the video: Not yet, but further experimentation will show if that can be done. Stay tuned!
Could this concept be improved for cutting metal sheets ?
In principle: Yes. But making it cut with reasonable speed is tricky. It is an extremely slow process.
What kind of voltages and amperes is powering this setup?
As told in the video: 12V. Current is in the range of 3A. More on that will follow in future videos. Stay tuned!
