Hi, take a Tour on Valeriy Stepanov, in my opinion he's the funkiest Keyboardplayer on Planet Earth, in Addition a Great arrangeur and Composer. Jacob Collier an he is in the Same League. Dirty Loops works only with three:-) Greets
My God...... So glad I found you guys. I'm 62.... Bit rutted over the years with music I have followed. Thanx for your more than amazing talent. Daryl Cadman. New Zealand
JONAH'S VOICE IS PHENOMENAL AND HE PLAYS THOSE BONES BEAUTIFULLY!!! I CAN HEAR MY STEVIE WONDER IN HIS SOUND... AND THE REST OF THE GUYS ARE AMAZING MUSICIANS AND SINGERS TOO!!! THESE GUYS ARE GOING VERY FAR!!! ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!!!! DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, THANK YOU FOR THESE INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS YOU SENT US, WE ASK THAT YOU PROTECT THEM AND KEEP THEM SAFE IN ALL THEIR TRAVELS, IN JESUS NAME WE PRAY, AMEN!!!
reyes sacdalan It wasn’t the sound engineer. You can still have a decent show with bad sound. But Jonah was singing out of key (probably from vocal exhaustion). They need backup singers if he is the only singer
@@JLPerryTV What are you talking about? The bad sound has nothing to do with Jonah's voice. The drums are mixed so terribly that the snare has no attack (you can only hear the reverberation) and you can't hear the toms at all. Drums are totally dominated by bass and keys.
JLPerry don't know what he's saying. Clearly the engineer fucked up, even the Keys are clearly compressed. He's thinking that the transients of a live voice is "singing out of key", maybe why he only seems artists that use only PB.
I think there are just 4 channels recorded. 2 channels from mac with those addlibs and prepared sounds. and 2 channels from the stage. But i still love Dirty loops!)
I LOVE THESE GUYS AND I HOPE THEY REMEMBER TO WRITE AND CREATE SONGS THAT ARE EASIER FOR THE FANS TO SING ALONG WITH... MOST OF THE SONGS I'VE HEARD SO FAR ARE AWESOME AND BEAUTIFULLY HIGH POWERED BUT HARD FOR PEOPLE TO SING ALONG WITH.... THE ONES YOU CAN SING ALONG WITH ARE THE REAL SELLERS!!!!!
These guys are the present day real deal....not to be taken lightly.. If you could put Weather Report on funk with some pop thrown in, this would be it!. Killer musicians!!.
Maybe this is the signal directly out of the mixing console. The signal is later processed for the big PA... They should have remixed the performance for the DVD. I mean multi track recording isnt that hard ^^
Sound isn't the issue, it's performance stamina. Because Jonah is doing a lot of work (singing lead & backing vocals, and playing piano). You can tell he was vocally tired because he missed a lot of notes and was pitchy. If the other two can't sing, they should at least have backup singers. But overall, this is down-side of having overproduced music... it doesn't work well live
Very interesting. But the highlights are missing here in the concert. All musicians are brilliant virtuosos, no question about it. In addition to technical skills, a group needs a concept and good compositions. Improvisation doesn't last long.
I don't want to sound like a critic because i love their music. The thing is that they had too many "recorded" tracks with autotune and it doesn't work well in a live performance. In a live performance, you can't make autotune work along with pre-recorded backgrounds. Jonah also tap-danced around a lot of notes and also needs better dictation because he was mumbling some of the words like in "Rollin.." and "Hit Me". They also need live backup singers if the other two can not sing because I think Jonah is a lot and it looks like he was vocally tired
Interesting video. I was curious to see if they could actually perform their material (and if so, how?), but when the string pad came in at 3:15 and Nilsson obviously wasn't playing that line while he soloed, nor did he seem to otherwise trigger them (unless they were a layered patch in the left hand that he brought in with an expression pedal, I guess they use backing tracks? Or does anyone else know how they'd pull off some of their more complex instrumentation with a 3-piece?
Mega-talented brilliant musicians. The stage at the SIJF wasn't optimal for them, however, because as a trio, it is visually and musically nicer to see them closer together. In fact, this stage setup is one where they are further away from each other than I can recall from any of their previous concerts. That said, nothing can take away from the virtuosity of these guys individually and collectively. I love that Jonah is still playing his old Korg X50 to this day (2024), one of the greatest pound for pound and $ for $ keyboards they ever produced.
Who knows, maybe the gated snare sound didnt sound too bad in the venue? I'm sure the engineer tuned the mix for the room, not for the direct soundboard recording. :D
C'mon, this sound is probably taken directly from FOH mixer, that's why you can't say weather its bad or not. I'm sure it sounded great live. And it's sounds decent enough here too. Most of live sounds here on youtube are far worse. If you say it's bad, you don't anything about sound and should be quiet.
stop blaming the sound engineer. He did a pretty decent job. Besides, they use too many loops and backing tracks with vocals. The drum snare is triggering some weird samples as well. The band is quite good anyways
It’s really weird to say but i think not only do they use backing tracks but also sometimes the singers just full on lipsyncs, in this one he doesnt actually sing live the first choruses of Die for you (for some reason he does sing the last one) but i’ve also seen live performances of him lipsyncing « it hurts » entirely... they’re rock solid as a band and musicians but that’s a little sad
+besim baftiu limit / overcompressored or sidechain (this groovy funky style is all about that) overall audio quality is pretty good I think If a big Jazz audio engineer did this, its a pretty good job assuming this has a lot of strong compressed sounds that goes up to 0 or close to 0 DB While jazz has deeper dynamics, thats why its difficult, but the presence on the instruments is great
+Zoltán Károlyi I thinks the problem may be on unbalanced volume levels or they used the drums parallel comp buss as drums track, this drums sounds like parallel comp buss. Because in this type of music the punch has to be more than anything. In this case I think it's just the problem with volume unbalanced.
0:47 Circus

My God...... So glad I found you guys. I'm 62.... Bit rutted over the years with music I have followed. Thanx for your more than amazing talent.

Best jazz funk I have heard in a long time. Dirty loops gave me dirty hoops.

Andrea Gaye Scott Westfall I mean I agree with you but quit yelling at me. I didn’t do anything.
I like that in the end they call the backing keyboardist to join them in bowing to the fans.
yeah they gave credit where it was due. They didn't leave Simon out just cuz he was in the background
Upcc XD fogu0(uggg
I'm 72 , ex music industry , just recently , these guys, WOW. No wonder Quincy Jones has adopted them into his fold .

The more I listen and study, the more I understand. Thank you. 🖤& respect.
My ears cant get enough .....! So good...
That is because all frequencies above 1KHz have been filtered out...
Amazing concert...this is what Eargasm’s are made of!!!
They are super talented , never seen this before !!
I mean this is already insane good but their latest stuff they show on their UA-cam channel is on next level!
it is rare to see a professional shooting record them live in concert. they were many great here, but improved a lot since then.
Audience seems a little low energy and that effects the group somewhat. ...love, love these guys...Inspiring.
Singaporeans are usually like that
it's a jazz festival
I think the audience were trying to pick their jaw's of tha floor!
Impressionante muito top !!! amo Dirty Loops!!!!
The best of best!
Man these arrangements are wild… 😅👍👍👍👍. Great to hear this sooooo much. 🥹
Haven't heard this vibe since Gino Vanelli early 70s. Great stuff.
Love me some Gino ‼️
@@alanandrade4911 LINDO!!!! Domínio de música clássica, erudita, pop, jazz....excelentes músicos!
I see Dirty Loops. I click. I like. That is all.
R.I.P for sound engineer. lol
He had a stroke when he saw Viggo Mortensen rocking the second set of keyboards for Rolling in the deep

Killed it!!!! Love thes guys

Tambah 1 org lagi Mas.. Kalo liat drummernya sy jd ingat Ray Prasetya.. Ini band emang super gokil.
saya udh tahun 2011 tau band ini.
tp selera telinga org indonesia ngk cocok dgn band2 kaya gini.

LINDOS D++++++

the engineer ate the snare, very bad mix
don't stop the Dirty Loops
Mean band mean sound. Can`t wait to hear you play in New Zealand Chur
Who's the sound engineer in this event? Oh my...
yeah bro drum setup is fucked up
Maybe this is the signal directly out of the mixing console. The signal is later processed for the big PA...

The drums have no treble...

Of course it is directly out of the mixing table. Finally some person that understands.
Amazing musicians... that drummer is SICK! nice
Way above your average MTV artists!
this is dope!!
Sensacional ....beautiful ...genial ....une merveille !!!
Limiter - MAX Compressor - Max De-esser - max Good job sound engineer!!!! )))
i think the mic for snare was muted? the snare sounds as if recorded only from the overhead lol
These guys are great :) :)
That' s what we call grooving ❤❤❤
You guys freaking rock big time. Sad audience unfortunately. You're on my top 3 playlist.
It's just how Asians show politeness and attentiveness.

Outstanding musicians!!!👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I understand that the music is from the 80's/90's but you don't have to use the technology from that time to mix the event. XD
very nice group
Cute show!!
extraordinarios!!!
🇧🇷 Simplesmente Espetacular!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Is the snare mic off? Sounds like it's just getting picked up the surrounding mics. Zero punch
In 19:35 the band asks for a guitar player...love DL. They are amazing.
SUPER!!! Hand made...
AMAIZING
Top demais…🫵👏👏👏olha o tanto de pessoas…inacreditável.
21:20 - 21:35 awesome solo!
This is a very good example of why not to use computers software to help with your recording

So insane...they need backing vocal, and additional keyboard player.

to be honest i donthave any idea what ganre are they playing. But dang it!!!
THE’re freakin awesome...... out of the box style of music
in some part they also play odd time signature
Pqp de banda! You guys kick ass!!!
Those pad sounds really do the job...
So great! Where are the background vocals coming from?
Hot! Amazing! Great!
these cats are the business they have like a mint condition sound very clean and their pocket is tight.

RIP drum snare...😭😭😭
😥😥😳😳
That mix. That SNARE XDD Kill me please
“Hey can we use the reverb of Phil Collins drums for that funky drums, too?” sure -.-
The singer is it alone? 🤔 we can see the bassist!!! He is the best musician
Dirty Loops no es nada sin Henrik...
Anyone knows what model is the little korg in the background? Thanks!

People should dance to that, not sit down like it's an opera...
It would fit so much better with party people and lotsa lights and flashes
14:50 What track? or just impressive ambient live improvisation?
So are they using a recorded base for Circus? There is a choir when no one is singing.
Minute sixteen...magic.
