    Darn Dan, where were you when my daughter was living in Seattle for four years. I blundered around for a long time. And wouldn’t you know it, she don’t live there anymore. This is great advice and a great help. You’re da man Dan!

    I have been trying to figure out these SRC for a few weeks! New to fly fishing as well so I’m not exactly the best yet. You should do a video on how to spot good beaches and some of the local spots!

    Incoming and outgoing tides are both great options, but here is a fun fact: Outgoing tends to have less seaweed

      Hello! My Dad introduced me to the sport, taught me a few basics and I’m self taught from there picking up tips from others along the way.

    Any idea on how long my leader should be or if I could fish an indicator with it? If not is there a tempo I should strip back?

    • @steveelder5306
      @steveelder5306 Місяць тому

      usually no indicator. I'd fish a leader about the rod length maybe a bit longer. mono butt and flouocarbon for the rest. vary the retrieve until you find out what works.

    I have a 5wt, but not meant for salt. Do you think it would be OK as long as I rinse off in freshwater when I get home? Beach is 10 minutes away from my house.

    • @FlyFishDan
      @FlyFishDan  Рік тому

      That’s a tough one - even if you rinse it off immediately after - salt could start to inflict damage and over time and you’ll likely notice. If you decide to go after SRC’s often, might be worth investing and dedicating at 6wt for the fishery.
