I listened to this video over a month ago but when I came to try it out just now I'd forgotten everything haha. Going over it again I realised how simple it was when I tried it out. Absolutely brilliant! Thank you.
Loving these short informative videos, and this is something I have never understood in 2 years with LumaFusion. This will save me a ton of time. Thank you
You are an excellent teacher. And I really appreciate this tutorial. May I suggest starting the tut at 4:27. I watched your tut months ago ( abandoned after a few minutes as keyframe was too complex for a quick on the fly video post as a beginner) but decided that the title was not what I needed. I came back today and found exactly what I needed but only about half way into the demo. Please don't stop with your tuts, and I promise to be more patient next time.
Because of the type of videos I usually do, I drag all the clips onto the main timeline then set the first one to master, copy that and select all the rest of the clips with the selection tool and paste the master setting into all my talking clips. I then go through and edit the video as normal. If I add any music I find it easier to make a few cuts where I want the music louder and change just those few clips to none. I normally have the ducking level at -26db. I think it’s just loud enough to know it’s there and not overpower what I’m saying. Thanks for what you do. Have a great day and be safe out there!
The audio ducking is a convenient way to make the major sound can be clearly heard in background music and sound effect, expecting for more audio editor int the future!
Hello Caroline ma'am, Thanks for the great video. I've a request 🙋: in the editor window for a video, in the audio tab, there're tons of settings available amongst which I'm familiar with only three options 🥲(ducking, gain & pan). Please make videos on other audio settings there... Thanks & regards, Anindya🙂.
Love it.. but.. I wish audio effects where ‘per track’ as they are in DAW’s and not ‘per clip’ That way when you make an adjustment it effects the whole audio tack and you can have different things on different tracks. Make much more sense for audio design. Hope this becomes an option in a future update to add effects to the track not just the clip.
We'll add a note to the wishlist about applying effects to an entire track. If you're willing to share a few more details, would you also send us a customer request email? We like to hear how customers would use new features when considering changes to LumaFusion. Please send to support@luma-touch.com.
You'd need to do that manually at the moment. A good way is to zoom in on the timeline and match up the waveforms. We hope to add more improvements for this in the future.
Very useful! I did not know it. I’m working in a project but i have already cut my “master” clip. If I want use this feature i have to open EVERY clip and set “master”. Is it possible copy the audio properties for all clips in one time?
You can set one clip to Master, then Copy that clip and use Multi Select to select all the clips you want set to master. Next, tap the Clipboard and Paste the audio effects. If you have any questions, email support@luma-touch.com.
Have you considered moving the advanced ducking settings to the same configuration tab in audio adjustments rather than having them spread out? Seems a little more intuitive to have all the settings in one location to me
Caroline is brilliant. We don't have any merch for purchase at the moment but we'll share your request with our team and see what we can do in the future.
You can export at 96KHz when exporting a WAV or MOV file from LumaFusion. That's the highest we go right now but we'll keep our eyes open for opportunities to do more. You could also write a customer request with details on how you would use higher KHz in LumaFusion. This helps our developers assign priority and get clarification if needed. Please send to support@luma-touch.com if you're up to it. Thanks for the comment!
Hi Caroline, I'm having a bit of trouble editing audio from filmic pro in Luma Fusion applying the "channel strip plug in." Luma fusion just crashes. When I record using the native camera app, all works well. Any thoughts?
Great video! I have been trying to use the audio ducking feature for a voice over and for some reason it does not work for me. The other issue is that both the voice over and music volume slowly gets louder when I replay. Do you know why that is happening?
We'll need more details to pinpoint the exact cause. Would you send us a quick support request to support@luma-touch.com? That's the quickest route to finding an answer.
We shoot for average levels around -12db, using LumaFusion's meters and the Mixer tools outlined on this page of our Reference Guide: lumatouch.clickhelp.co/articles/#!lumafusion-reference-guide-publication/audio-mixer/q/decibels/qid/44863/qp/1
I have a question, if I have one clip where people are talking on one clip and I’m talking I want to have it lower as I start talking, is that at all possible?
Yes, the clip that you want to dominate should be set to Primary under the audio ducking setting. The other clips that you need to automatically lower as it plays should be set to ‘auto’.
@@LumaTouch oh okay, what I do is separate the audio from the original clip and apply the audio ducking features? Just to clarify, I know how to do the audio ducking as shown in the tutorial, I just didn’t know we can apply it from one clip so it I’m talking and the television is talking in the one clip the audio ducking will still work? If that’s the case that’s REALLY COOL
@@LumaTouch I love your software seriously, I was using something else years ago and I was OK with it but then they put their software behind a weekly pay wall and I was like I don’t wanna pay weekly or monthly for software. So I was looking on Google at top video editors for iOS and yours came up. I was a little hesitant at first, but I’m glad I decided to purchase it because you were in competition with a bunch of others. My friend recently yesterday just complimented me on my video editing skills I even added Lumifusion to where my Apple Music and booted Apple Music out of the bottom of my iPhone LOL 😂 When you charged $20 for additional features recently I didn’t huff or puff I was happy to pay it because you care about your customer base and really want us to get the best out of video creation without it being complicated
Still, the music is entirely too loud! - at the beginning intro and every other instance of full music and no talking. I will never understand this, it’s rampant on UA-cam, it’s as if editors are not listening to the mix. 😭
If your audio file is on the main track, put your timeline in insert mode and delete the blank space in-between. If it is on another track, just drag into place.

support like this is exactly why I dropped Resolve and Final Cut. Luma Fusion for the win! Plus, I love editing on my couch haha.

Great video easy to understand. How can you sync the audio and video that are recorded at the same time in different devices in lumafushion?

The clip that's set as Primary will play full volume and another clip set to Auto will duck. That Audio Configuration panel is pretty powerful.

If you have a Master and switch to another Master, does the original Master automatically switch to auto?
No, both will be Master.

Good information, but speaking about saving time, it took four minutes to get to the point. Brevity!

Ive been wondering what the heck is ducking? Can you filter the vids so we can search for a topic?
Within the video, no. We do keep series in their own playlists, which you can search.
how to remove blank space between two audio files.
If your audio file is on the main track, put your timeline in insert mode and delete the blank space in-between. If it is on another track, just drag into place.
Takes almost 5 mins to get to the Audio Ducking. Useless.
Thanks for the feedback.
