The high quality of your wildlife filming is impressive.
Elsa Beskow is part of Swedish culture and the mythical. I've had a whole family of squirrels hanging on my legs. Pumpkins are more expensive in Sweden because they are more difficult to grow in Sweden. My mom used to grow pumpkins, but I didn't like the pickled ones. Really nice film clips at the end. My father is from southern Lapland, but I'm very rarely there nowadays, which is a shame.

Beautiful! The book was used in schools for learning to read when I was a child, seventy years ago. I go up to the High Coast in the north to my fathers home of his childhood every summer to go kajaking, pick blueberries and more. Thank you for your nice videos!
Tomtebobarnen as the book is called is a national treasure. Treat it with care and respect and maybe some day you will learn swedish and can read it to your kids as many generations have done before you :). Written by one of swedens classical writers, Elsa Beskow.

I love the Tomtebo barnen book!! My mother used to read it for me and my siblings when we were small and we all knew it by heart. It is all written in verse. The illustrations are beautiful. ❤

Dani, I got these calendars for my office and they are such a gem. My team thinks you are some kind of magical psychic because each month, the squirrel perfectly captures life themes we are working through for the month. It's now a company ritual to turn the page at the start of the month to anticipate what is to come🐿🥰

Pumpkin carving is so popular in the States that pumpkins are grown specifically for carving & others for cooking.
Elsa Beskow is - or it least was - very popular here in Germany, too. My late wife (born in the early Sixties) brought several children-books from E.B. into our marriage, which had been translated into German at the beginning of the last century. I still enjoy them so much when I find them by random while screening through my bookshelves for something else.

When I read my text before I thought perhapes someone Will missunderstand so I will try to clearify. Sweden has a lot of problems with criminality, we used to be one of the safest place on the earth during my lifetime and now it is only War torn Ukraine that has more shootings and bombs exploding in Europe .And the contrast to those imigrants and the contrast to the beaty art wellbeing that you share is great. Thank you.
I don't know how old she is, but she has the kind of personality to make a wonderful mother.
If she is still young enough her kids would be very lucky to have such a mom.
Really enjoyed that stunning montage at the end. Could even see the Woodpeckers tongue licking it's bill and loved the jays but it was all very well done. Felt like really feeling nature.

Good grief, what a fantastic video. There are too many amazing shots to mention, which is saying a lot. Also, the background music is a perfect addition to the stunning visuals. I should definitely pay more attention to your work. It's so soothing and relaxing! Ordered my new calendar, I enjoyed (and still enjoy) the 2023 version so I'm sure the 2024 version won't disappoint.

Tomtebo barenen, or in english Children of the forrest together with her fairy tale Tant brun tant grön tant gredelin, Aunt Brown, Aunt Green and Aunt Lavendel is her famous children books she have illustrated herself. I can understand people tryed to snitch it from you. Her books are a part of the swedish culturar harretige.
Carving pumpkins is, as you guessed, no traditional thing in Sweden. In fact, I'd say pumpkins are not very common in Swedish cooking - or at least did not use to be. I never saw pumpkins for sale until the Halloween tradition started here (in larger scale) around the 90's.
