    After several years using Denon MC6000 mk2, today I can say that I fully share your comments. I know that there are other current models with new options, but I also know that I do not need these new functions and those offered by the MC6000mk2, in this order of importance:
    - Works with all the reference software of the current market.
    - Its sound quality is superb. Sometimes remember the analog sound.
    - Its construction and quality is professional level, similar to that of the professional systems of the eighties. Robust, durable, simple, operational and above all to last a lifetime.
    - It offers the most important for good sound in any type of situation: balanced sound outputs xlr, compatibility with all current DJ software, phono preamps, micro preamps; An excellent combination of digital controller with the best analog sound performance.
    - It never fails, it never leaves you hanging and much less interrupts a music session for your audience.
    The DJs, you know what I am talking about. The other options are fine, but they are not so important to me and my audience. I just need sound quality, hardness, portability and above all reliability.
    Thanks!
    P.S. Since 2014 I bought it, it has become my best ally and I always use it in my live sessions wherever I go.

      I'm so glad I found your comment. I've been using one of their previous models for years and I just picked up this unit (open box) on eBay today. I can't wait for it to get in. I'm so glad to hear that it is Rock Solid just like my older Denon unit. The only reason I'm replacing my older unit is that the face is getting rusty. That's how long I have used it. Probably about 200 shows or so

    Still use mine. Its been my work horse for the past 5 years. I have the 7000 too but still prefer the 6000 because of its size, build quality and sound quality. I eliminate having to bring a 2nd mixer and plug my mics right into it, no problem. Its seen over 300+ gigs and still runs strong. I would buy a mk3 in a heartbeat....

    @Digital DJ Tips I think you left out one huge unique feature of this controller. It works as a stand alone mixer for turntables or CDJs. Meaning if you have turntables and want to spin vinyl you can do that on channels 3 and 4 while channels 1 and 2 act as digital only channels to be controlled via Serato/Traktor.
    I've been spinning since the late 90s and still spin vinyl and digital in the same set and this controller is the only one that allows me to do both at the same time. I'm sticking with this for a long time due to that feature, which sadly most other controllers have abandoned. I know this adds to it's weight since it can serve as a stand alone 2 channel mixer (FX don't work on the vinyl channels in that case however). I think it was originally targeted more to people like me with this feature to a degree. I don't use performance pads and have little desire to do so since I still spin a lot of vinyl. I don't believe this is an apples to apples comparison of the MC6000MK2 to other controllers since I feel it was originally designed to bridge the gap between mixer and controller considering it's era.

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for pointing that out, although it is not unique to the unit - most controllers from mid-range up are the same. By the way, great user name, one of my favourite labels of the 90s...

    I use mk1 and Traktor Pro 3.5 and its AMAZING!!! Build quality on MC6000 is superb... heavy and build like a tank. The integration with Traktor is perfect. Mobility is great.. you can put this in a backpack!!! Its fully customizable. Now, I heard that with the latest update you can use this unit as DVS without using any 3rd party audio interface.... you dont really need anything else than this. As per your layout..... you will use to it after couple of sessions, no problem here.

    I bought the Denon MC6000 MK2 when it first came out, all those years ago. It's still my primary controller. The build quality is fantastic and having 4 decks to work from has been wonderful.
    The only complaint I have had is that the cross fader is a little loose. quite the small complaint when everything else has been functioning so well.

    Denon 6000 Mk2 is a beast, it's always my first choice, maybe it doesn't have all the bell and whistles of 2020 DJ controllers, but it is robust and reliable. I started playing music with technic 1200 then cassette tapes back in the days , and I remember when first Denon CD player with pitch included came out, Denon DN - 2000F it was almost like magic, after that I always trusted Denon. Unfortunately I really didn't like the feeling of the new controller 4000 , maybe is too plastic. By the way, I have shipped my 6000 Mk2 twice in a plane, and It survive the flight undamaged, The controller travel as cargo to Eastern Island and to Buenos Aires also, that tell you a lot of the sturdiness of this piece of machine.

    Fantastic controller. Had it for a while. Used it with an iPad mini and Serato Remote app to get all the controls not on the MC6000 , worked flawlessly. And while the jogs are small they are on point. PLUS with DVS my turntables connected to the controller took up very little space.

    I still rock a mk1. Thing is a tank and I've often used it as a stand alone mixer in gig settings so the music never stopped. The other djs can just plug right up. Have tried this same thing with expensive pioneer controllers and they sound like shit. Denons are worth it. The only thing I'd change it for is the new denon stand alone 4 channel. Thing is badass!

    Well my first Dj set up was with my friend's (mentor) American Dj set up. I fell in love with it. Few years later brought my first Dj controller with the cd decks. Could not find a quick start. So even tho I like the cue points and all that, I still would have to say the quick start is my favorite feature as i found on my controller the Numark NV. But still is going to buy another set up.

    I bought one when they first came out to travel with me for work around the Uk. This & a peavey guitar amp. It’s been on various flights back & forth from Northern Ireland too & the only thing wrong with it is a scratch on the crossfader from the plug rubbing against it in my bag. It’s a tank & never let me down. Sounds great too.

    I still own the MC6000 MK1 & it's built like a tank. It still works as it should no issues. However it isn't supported with Serato DJ Pro. It works with Traktor, VDJ & Scratch Live (with the SL audio interface and midi file) which isn't supported anymore. Such a great controller for build quality, minus the small jog wheels & lack of modern pads layout. With VDJ / Traktor it's a great backup controller if needed.

    the classic Denon build quality, built like a tank! It was our inhouse controller and the dj booth git flooded one day and it was literally floating in water soaked, and it still worked like a charm. With the features on it all it was missing was the performance pads it came out a little too late and too close to the behemoth sx

This control has a lots of buttons for is size, in/outs... Sound quality is aceptable acordind for its age but don't really matter because I run my main through a digital mixing board. I'm considering the Pioneer DDJ SX3 because it has 3 mic inputs and can hook up 2 PC's which is what is important to me on a DJ Controller. Also want something with an external power supply to ensure there is enough power supplied to the elements of the DJ Deck. Example of why I need something with power is I have a Pioneer Ergo and the mic produces extreme latency due to the fact it runs off USB power only, which has it's advantages but sucks for the mic input. Either way 3mic inputs and 2 computers is a win for me!

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  4 роки тому

      Yeah the SX3 hasn't gotten the same amount of love the SX2 did (due to a few problems when it was released) but it's definitely a very capable controller that gives you a lot of control over Serato :)

    Great video! I recently did a gig that was shared with another dj who did the early shift and I did the later shift and we also switched off in the middle. He had the MC4000 and using VDJ. I use Traktor and was using my NI Maschine Jam. Seeing his controller and looking around I came across this MC6000 which has 4 faders. It would be the perfect size for me. I had been looking maybe at the DDJ-1000 til I saw how huge it was. I like that the MC6000 also has a booth out. Also not looking to break the bank and since I already have two other controller options though none with jog wheels and depending on the situation and also seeing videos of it's use using VDJ in video mode is good which I have used and have to use for some events I have done. And this also has 2 dedicated mics! MC7000 and 8000 are just super large. I feel this is the only controller that is 4 channels in this size. And yes have also looked at the Roland 707.

    1 the size it ca fit into my backpack

    2 mic with eq love it can use it for medium size play back rappers concert if more than 2 mics are not needed
    what i love the most is the mono stereo out put switch and there is why
    like i said i do rent sound equipment as a mobile dj doing weddings corporate etcc;; and most time speaker placement is conplicated i have had situation where i play in a bar and people are indoor and outdoor so left side are inside and right side is outside so with mono i am sure to get the same sound everywhere otherwise people out side might not here the hihat of the song
