for those who dont know, this is endurance/rhythm focused bag work. Different frome the kind if pad work we usually see Canelo do. He's looking pretty fluid while also mixing in power shots as well as inside work. he could use some head movement at the same time tho. Canelo's a pretty good counter puncher.
This is an exciting fight. Bivol is the best LHW in my opinion and Canelo is Canelo. im leaning more towards Canelo winning cause its hard to bet against him but Bivol definitely has what it takes to beat him
I agree it's endurance based. I commented he is defensively irresponsible but that can be expected when you are just focusing on the endurance aspect. StillI agree with you he could use some head movement and he could also bring his punches straight back rather than letting them drop off. Who knows how tired he is there though. Also agree Canelo is hard to bet against.

That's asking a lot since Canelo knows when to throw and when not to throw and he's very patient with his defense.. I think Canelo lands a vicious counter and wins.

i watched some highlights from bivol and its evident that he wont be easy work for canelo, he throws really hard but sometimes he seems a bit slow and idk if he can out counter canelo the reach is pretty similar

whats important is he trains the way he fights. he throws the exact type of combos in his fights. this type of training is very practical. theres a reason why hes the best at 175.

I'm amazed at how fluid his movements are as if he is dancing. Bouncing in between punches then when the punch connects everything is tense then in an instant soft and smooth again.
These are the same thudding shots he was hitting Canelo with. No wonder canelo tired out so fast. Especially after Bivol landed just one hard hit to the body Canelo just declined after that. Those hands come in with some serious heat I tell you
From what I've seen on Bivol, his footwork will work well against Canelo's counter punching but Bivol leans into his punches quite a bit at times and is somewhat predictable. That's from watching full fights and training. I'm sure it will be a great match!
One thing that struck me about Bivol is how he defends against body shots. He does not cover his lateral abdomen with his elbow, but takes a step back and sometimes even "shrinks" his stomach. That could work with the low zone shots that Alvarez often uses. But you're right, I think Bivol's attack is a bit slow.

Explosion doesn’t forcibly mean a knocked out being explosive is mostly based on acceleration and Bivol might not have incredible knock out power but his sharpest is crazy, you can hear the snap in his punches and honestly that’s a dangerous weapon. It’s like floyd, berto said floyd doesn’t have tremendous power but he is sharp and getting it with those to many times is really bad. It more so stings and hurts more tbh.

I laugh when people say the reason Canelo picked Bivol is because its an easy fight compare to Charlo but the thing is if Bivol catches Charlo only once, he can be hospitalized for real. People really started to underestimate the weight classes but the reality is different. Bivol has lot of power even for his weightclass and very calculated boxing style. The only thing that its missing for Bivol is the explosiveness.

kinda wrong and he earned it. He didnt do much though, just followed a good game plan efficiently to where Canelo had a horrible game plan (punch Bivols arms and tire him by the 8th) it seemed like and definitely made no adjustments. The rematch will be different.
