Yes, the original '55 BADMAN kit came with a small block. The later release diecast (because the original was the Two Lane car came with the 348/409. The actual car had an L88 427. Then when the diecast BADMAN still had the 358/409. That plastic model kit was originally a stock 1955 Hardtop kit.
Cool update! The Badman is my favorite kit from back in the day. Unfortunately, my memory doesn’t have the answer about the engine size. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!
Badman is coming along nicely Jay, Im pretty sure it's always had that same engine, a lot of those kits weren't very accurate, be sure was fun to build, Merry Christmas to you and your family buddy, ⛄🎄👍
The first kit has Tom Daniel's drawing on it. He created the graphics, Monogram used the tooling they had, and modified it enough to look like the drawing. The stock original 55 it was based on came chopped, hence the BadMan is chopped too. Oh yeah, one other thing. The stock kit could be built as a convertible too. That's why the roof attachment is wonky around the body. It was originally separate. How many 55 Gassers have you seen with a front spoiler?
Mine has a small block Jay. Yours is looking great! Love me some BadMan!!! 😎👍
Thank you, yes they are a fun model!
Cannot go wrong with this kit.
Right on!

No clue on the 409??? Nice progress on the 55. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
Thank you for checking out the channel and Merry 🎄
As far as I know, the tooling is mostly original. Same engine. Since your box has a bar code, it is a later reissue
I know mines a newer kit but I don’t remember the original from 69 if it had a 409.
I'm pretty sure it's all ways been a small block.
The kit they retooled for the bad man kit was a small block
Thank you for checking into to the channel
Yes, it's always been the same motor.
I had that same kit back in 1970
@@johnsheldon1554 it’s just a great kit,lots of memories!
