Thank you! I never would have considered using 6 x 6" paper pads until I bought one because it was all that was left of a paper collection that I really, really wanted to use. I'm so glad that happened because they are so much fun to work with.
This is one of the best YT videos I've ever watched. (Why am I just now finding you?!?! Now subbed.) I love the content, the designs, and the ideas they inspire. I also love that you pile on multiple photos for your layouts---something I rarely see anymore, sadly, but that's so much more practical for the many of us who have tons of photos needing to be scrapped. THANK YOU! Can't wait to watch more.
The ladies at The Scrap Gals recommended I check you out b/c I don’t do a lot of 1 photo layouts, except on my opening or title page. I love it so far! I also have learned some techniques on using up 6x6 papers on my cards! Wahoo! Obviously I have a lot of supplies to get used up! (I was in college for 4 years as an older student and then got diagnosed with an autoimmune disease! I am very far behind!) 🤭😀
For this video I learned about inches of photos matching inches of background pieces. I never thought of that before. You have so much explanation for each layout. Your knowledge is exceptional! Thank you for sharing your passion and gift with us. You are a blessing to me.
These are beautiful and amazing! I'm a cardmaker, but I've never done scrapbooking before. It all seemed intimidating until I seen this video! You explained everything so we'll and clear! I'm excited for the Scrapbooking with 6x6 Paper pad Classes and FB Group!
Thank you, Samantha! As a cardmaker, it should be an easy transition. Just bigger "cards" and adding pictures. :) The FB group is going to be so much fun!
I have benefited from some of your free downloads, so I am happy to buy this class and join the group! I like your work! I like watching videos of other scrapbookers working, but what appeals to me in yours is how they accommodate so many pictures!! We sure have a ton of them ready to use!
Thank you, Nancy! I always say the same thing, we have so many pictures, how do you NOT use a ton of them! I do have layouts here and there that just have one or two photos, but I will always be a multi-photo two-page scrapbooker at heart. I look forward to seeing you in the group. I think it's going to be so much fun!
I love these ideas. I've always thought 6 x 6 paper pads were kind of useless, but now I'm thinking I've been missing out! 😊 This is great, and I'm going to try some of these ideas with the pads I do have. Thanks so much! 👍🏻💜
Thank you, Linsey! I thought that 6 x 6 papers pad were more for cards, but then I happened to buy one because it was the only paper left in a collection that I really, really wanted. I figured I could make it work somehow. I feel in love with using them! It's amazing how much faster I can create a layout when I'm using 6 x 6 papers.
I just purchased your 2 page sketches pdf and joined the FB group so I've been watching some of your videos in preparation and I just have to say, I love your layouts so much!! They are very approachable and not overwhelming. I'm very excited for October!!
Thank you, Cristina! You are going to love this group, I am sure! It's so much fun to see one sketch and then hundreds of layouts from different people. It's so inspiring and amazing how everyone brings a different creative element to one sketch. I love it so much!
Wow! Once again you have shared so much talent and so many ideas for 6x6 paper pads. I purchased your class and have worked from it, but these gorgeous layouts add additional inspiration. I am wondering if you ever share your secret for the way you lay out and cut your journaling strips. Is your technique possibly included in one of your classes?
Thank you so much, Jackie! I don't believe journaling strip instruction is in any classes, but they are really easy once you get the hang of it. Here's how I do it: 1. Type journaling with double spacing. Make sure your journaling is closer to the top edge of the paper. If you get too close to the bottom, it is a little more difficult to cut. 2. Print. 3. Cut your vertical cuts first, one on the left side of the journaling and one on the right side of the journaling. I usually aim for there to be about 1/8 to 1/4" from the word to the edge of the paper. 4. Cut each individual line of journaling. I don't cut them to exact measurements, I just cut by eye. My journaling strips are rarely the exact same size. I hope that helps some! I've had a lot of people ask about journaling strips so I'm thinking it might be good to put together a video tutorial.
@@allisondavis4sg944 Thanks, so much. I was just wondering if there was some secret to making them as even as you do. I'm off to try my hand at it. Thanks again.
You're welcome! I think the group is really going to be a lot of fun. I've been gathering and printing my photos over the last few days and I keep getting more and more excited.
Great ideas, just never thought of 6×6 papers in that way. Thank you. Wondering how you kept your white cardstock from warping when you used the watercolor to make a background...
Thank you so much, Gina! Once you start using 6 x 6" paper pad, they become so addicting. They really can make scrapbooking so much easier and faster. Whenever I am using watercolor on a background I will use masking tape (painters tape will work too) and tape my paper to my work space. I use a piece of tape the whole length of the paper on all sides so that each edge is covered. Then I apply my watercolor. The paper will warp, but I don't remove the tape until the paint is completely dry. As the paper dries, it levels back out. There is still some warping, but it is very minimal compared to not taping the sides. I don't know exactly why it works, I just remember hearing about it from someone and trying it. I hope that helps!
Such wonderful layouts 😍really enyoyed watching everyone, i would really want to handstich but my hands wouldnt aprove.. Do you have a tip on how to use a pencil to accomplish that? Defenetly going to join the class❤️dont have so much 6*6 but i think i can cut down 12*12 and try.
Thank you so much! I would just use a ruler and pencil to draw dashes that resemble stitching. I know that some people have even pierced the holes with paper piercer and then used a pen to draw the stitch between each hole. It looks pretty good too! You can definitely just use 12x12 papers. I know a few people have mentioned doing the same. :)
It's going to be a fun group! Hope to see you there. The info is right below the video in the description. I’m not entirely sure yet. I was thinking about starting the second one up when the first one hits 10 weeks, which will be a little over a month from now. I’ve got to talk it over with the SG crew first. Once I do that I’ll have a more solid answer for you! 😊
Hi Annmarie! Can you tell me what kind of screen you get when you click on it? It’s working for me and I had my husband test from his phone and it worked for him too.
