Digital & Film Photographers Swap Cameras | Street Photography in Cape Town | Street Heat

Film or digital? What's your choice? Maybe you even choose both? Well, today's street session sees the well renowned street photographer, Wayne Hipe, joining me on a street session not only with his Fujifilm X-T20 digital camera, but also trying out my Nikon FM2.
The Fujifilm X-T20 is a digital mirrorless camera with an APS-C sensor. The Nikon FM2 is an SLR - a 35mm analog / analogue film camera. How different do these cameras and formats feel for this street photography legend? Well, watch and find out!
Side note: I was using my trusty Fujifilm X-E3 with the 35mm f2 Fujinon, also known as the 35mm Fujicron. Wayne was using the same lens! To top that off, both mine and Wayne's Fujifilms utilised the same fantastic X-Trans III sensor!
We also came across a guy by the name of Loyiso who shoots predominantly medium format 120 roll film by means of the Pentax 6X7 and he let us have a go at it. Little did he know how he'd come to love my X-E3...
I shot mostly black and white while Wayne shot mostly colour. And with that out the way, enjoy today's street photography session!

Don't you fear getting mugged? I loved doing photography back in london... but here I'd be to scared walking around as a woman? What you guys think? Or do you go out as groups?

@CaraDees here in Cape Town most street photographers who actually hit the streets regularly can hold their own. To the people who are concerned for safety reasons, there's a solution haha. We have a creative community here called Night Crawlers and we actually do photo walks sometimes past midnight even. There's safety in numbers, but you also feel safer when you have people around you who know the streets. Different game out here💯

@@eyeofalchemy See safety in numbers sounds nice but I'm not keen to be out after dark, certainly not after midnight! I'm female nearing 50 in a few years and wanna be nice an warm and lekker at home after sunset LOL.
