I can't believe I didn't think about using a fountain pen! I used to have one when I was a kid and was briefly into calligraphy, lol. Yay. :) When I'm actually at work I use Boot Black liquid liner and torn off brush hairs from the disposable plastic lip brushes and it works beautifully. But I didn't want to buy the liner just to burn through at home for face charts. This will work great, thanks!
Lori Phillips Absolutely! I didn't even think of using the pen until probably a year or so of doing charts. I used to do a lot of comic style work and back then I worked with them all the time. One day I just thought, "wait... why am I not using this for eyelashes?!"
Vivacia Dreams The good news is all of THESE things really work the same no matter what paper you use (it's the powders and other products that really rely on the textured paper) so you can practice just making little lines all day long (if you REALLY want to... all day and I'd go crazy LOL). The first one is black pencil and the dip pen, the second is JUST the dip pen and the third is a BROWN pencil and black ink in the dip pen.
Heather Allen LOL! The good news is that the dip pens are actually quite cheap. The plastic holders are usually around $2.00 each and the nibs are designed to wear out and be replaced so they are super inexpensive. The ink is the most costly thing and I imagine it should cost well under $10 for the bottle... which should also last you about 25 years haha
So lovely. Your voice is so soothing, its like watching the Bob Ross of makeup.

Dustin, you wee lifesaver you! my charts always end up with fat squished spider leg lashes when I use anything else. going to give the ink pen a go.
