What would really impress me is a $15,000 price cut. Cost management is cooler than a complicated tailgate.
Exactly we need bare bones WORK truck that small companies can afford and will have a low maintenance cost.
@@sprkySWOUPEXACTLY!! With a manual gearbox as well. I wouldn't buy a new truck regardless of manufacturer. They're way overpriced and not built to last. Notice you don't hear or see advertising saying our truck's sold in the last 10 years are still running strong. Car's and trucks now are only built to a minimum standard to last 6-8 years. About the same time someone finishes off a loan, then sign up for more payments all over again. You know, because it's so important to impress strangers and advertise that the driver has money.
Or even just an affordable family truck too. Not just the work trucks.
@@sprkySWOUPSaid it perfectly.
Thank the UAW

😂right. Who the hell needs that tiny ass tailgate
I was told a tailgate for a 2021 F250/F350 with just the camera was $9000.

@@gregwesterman2115Lovely! This is making my 1984 F150 worth more and more each day!
They really need to stop designing trucks for office workers stopping for groceries

Hahaha for real 😂
Why? That’s who buys expensive trucks.
There should be a truck for every application not just tradies or construction.
@@hi9580I think he's saying stop making trucks for 🅱️*tche$
Here’s an idea. Bring back the minimalistic truck. We don’t need 7 way adjusting tailgates. Or 360 degrees cameras with back up assist. Just power windows, door locks ,4wd, big v8 and and wing windows.
and MAYBE a sunroof thats about it
WING WINDOWS NEED TO COMEBACK
Wing vents and hi beam switches on the floor! The only thing I want changed on tailgate is get rid of cables and bring back the metal bars. They never break like the cables do.
And a steel 3/8 thick bumper.
And offer a working man’s truck at a working man’s price
Solutions looking for a problem? The tail gate innovation wars is getting out of hand.
I agree.
I love it.
They all seem superfluous. A tailgate that allows you to open it halfway (like the maverick and many other standard gates) is enough. I'm sure the option is expensive and if you get rear ended.... I'd hate to see the bill to replace it.
Y’all are beyond dramatic and straight up complainers
For those grocery getter trucks!
How about just giving us an engine that will go 100,000 miles without losing three or four sensors and cam phasers

Lmao. Comedy and spot on

AC and manual is all I want.
Simplicity doesn’t have ludicrous profit margins, silly.
Here's what Ford and other truck companies don't understand. We don't want fancy tailgates. We don't want the top of the bed of the truck to be 6 1/2 foot off the ground. We don't want giant oversized wheels. We don't want 100 gigits and gadgets. We want a reliable truck that's not built so big that it's impractical to use on the job site and so expensive that you cry every time it gets a scratch on it. We don't need a $70,000 truck to babysit. We need a reasonably priced basic truck with power windows, a good radio, air-conditioning, and heat to work with. Back up cameras are useful. That's all.
Then buy a Nissan preferably a used older one
🙏 AMEN
Except that’s literally not true. Ford sold 570,000 F150s in 2023, and the average cost per unit was $62,000 - nearly double the cost of a base truck. You think Ford doesn’t do market research? The vast majority of people want these features and Ford is gladly taking in the cash.
Consumers have options. They have base models and work truck models that don't have a lot of gadgets. Consumers choose to purchase high end trucks. I dont know why contractors are showing up in 2024 Ford Raptors or GMC AT4s. Those trucks are 70k+
Job sites usually have the f250 or bigger. The f150 is for DIYers, not professionals.
I think the Ford CEO (and board members) should all read these comments.
Yes if they ever really want to hope to be the best selling truck in America they really should!
I'm pretty sure they could care less what youtube thinks.

The only version available will be King Ranch for $48K if you don't want to wait 2 years for delivery.
They can make a tiny ranger. But it's also going to come with a seven piece tailgate that will probably get stolen

Lol they made a tiny Ranger. It's called the Maverick 😂 I have one and parked next to a old ranger and it was the same size. Only thing is the ranger had a longer bed and the mav had a bigger cab. I'm really not sure why they just didn't make the bed longer in the Maverick and called it a Ranger...

He was in a crew cab short bed f150 and had about a dozen bags of groceries he dropped the tailgate (because he had a hard bed cover) he then proceeded to pull out a hook on a pole and use it to grab multiple collapsing bins that he opens up and fills with the groceries. It is ridiculous at this point I drive a truck from 93 and I can get a tailgate built to manufacture spec and painted to match my current one for less than the cost of most shops to remove one of these mine to pull off that you don’t have to take it to a shop just to pop the tailgate off as long as you’re tall enough you can do it by yourself
I've replaced an LED tail light lens on a 2020 F-150. Part cost from Ford was $1500 and an additional $500 for the blind spot module that is mounted in the lens.
Thank you epa for making a simple, functional truck and making it 80-100k.
Everyone wants a good v8 with a regular and functionald tailgate.
Yep. EPA is the root of the problem, but nobody wants to admit it.
Yeah automakers realized they could market trucks and SUVs as sexy and then make huge profit margins off these vehicles without needing to worry about gas mileage… they’re laughing all the way to the bank
@@TehButterflyEffectwe could have nice things if the EPA went to the same place the ATF belongs: the pits of Hell.
@@Dr_Monitor What an idiot.
" dead bodies dont have to be dragged across the tail gate "
Thanks Ford .
How about make a reliable truck with a 500k warranty?
Ford: makes a $10k tailgate
Most of us are just happy to have a tailgate that works… now we’re gonna need the dealership to fix it. 🤦♂️
when the tailgate is your best selling point
Every single handle on that tailgate will be broken within 2 years.
Best part is it isn’t even a handle, it’s just a button. Coworker has a newer f150 and he already hasn’t been able to open his tailgate because it froze shut in the winter and he could hardly pull it without a handle since he has a tonneau cover. Same thing you better need keep jumper cables back there if you have a tonneau cover and your battery dies because you can’t drop the gate
@@MrProauz14 at Ford, functionality is an afterthought.
My 1971 Ford Country Squire has this feature. Labeled the Magic Tailgate ! Pretty fun to show at grocery stores
I thought the Ram already had something like this?
It does but rams actually make sense😂
They did with better design
They took that from RAM but rams opens up a few different ways.
Ram is better.
Ford copies alot
I like Honda Ridgeline’s tailgate that opens down like a regular truck tailgate or swings open like a door.
These new trucks also come with a free puppy to keep you company while waiting for a tow truck. 😂
I loose sleep at night worrying about my tailgate.
I thought i was the only one
Ehh, Sierra's tailgate still takes the cake.
Hey hey hey! Goodbyeeeee!!
yeah, if they didn't need to recall them
@@Vespa1500-w3s there is no recall on the Sierra multi pro tailgate. I have one it works perfectly
@@Vespa1500-w3s You made that up like all ford/ram owner do lol...
@@DustinRZRpeople that have never owned a GM love to talk crap about GM I have a 2014 Silverado pretty reliable with 192k miles
The tail gate is heated too... so you can keep your hands warm while you're pushing it home
EXACTLY...my new 2010 F450 needed a new engine at 52,000.00 miles. My new 2012 F350 turbo went out 48,000 and the electric fuel pump went out 800 miles later total cost to me $13,000.00. Yes it took me 6 years to get to those mileages...so it was out of warranty. NEVER AGAIN....especially with payments over a thousand a month....are they nuts????
Even the tailgate has more failure points, I didn’t think that could be possible
A place for the mechanic to sit during a hard days work on this truck.
As Chris Farley said in Tommy Boy, "hey I can take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I got spare time"😂😂😂😂
Took 9 visits and a year plus for engineering to figure out why tailgates were dropping on their own , what could possibly go wrong with this 🤔
Bro really flexed that you don't need to open the tiny tailgate all the way as a feature
I want my tailgates to be made out of as few pieces as possible
How about one piece of 3/4 inch plywood😊
