- Here's a very cool solo of Meshuggah's Fredrik Thordendal over their tune "Ivory Tower".
Super interesting contours, interesting bends and that groove... my god, man!

I could've also written it in 12/8 (I know).
Super cool, melodic, and chaotic at the same time!
It is pretty rare for Meshuggah to be in a triplet subdivision (at least the stuff I know)
Indeed! It grooves so hard, IMO 😂
My online Jazz instructor watches my favorite transcription channel? Its a small world.
For sure!
I know a couple others that do the same. I am Colossus and Pitch Black use triplet subdivisions throughout and it settles a bit easier than at least the first riff of this song, which is ridiculously hard to realize and tap quarters with confidence.
It's the challenge of the year. Lol
Its definetly a newer thing
the little tune at 0:32-0:33 and the way it lands up on the beat is so good isn't it! it's almost like he's saying "AND ANOTHER THING!" in the middle of giving someone a firm, prolonged, but polite and justified 'dressing down'...
I feel Fredrik's guitar talking to me through this solo.
what is he saying

Arguably, Fredrik's best solo.
That breakdown+solo might be the best spot on the album
This whole song is so amazing
You guys always have cool stuff on your channel but not very many metal transcriptions. This is awesome. I can't wait to see what you do next. If it happens to be some more Meshuggah I won't mind at all 🤘🤘🤘
Great cover and I have no idea how someone can memorize and nail that. This is my favorite part of the album. I love the contrast you have of the machine like precision chugging of the low end with the extremely abstract higher registered and what seems to be a randomly timed solo. Such a cool and hypnotizing sound! This is one part of the album I replayed a handful of times just to try to soak it all in.
My favourite solo through the whole album!
More of these please
A show of brutality without sixteenth note sweeps. The metal solo I can play without mastering Mancusco tech. Way cool!

Love it!
chaotic and smart choices !!!
Beautiful playing, nailed the articulation!

Good job, the only problem is that Frederick was not on this album. The songs were mostly written by Dick and Mårten
Thanks! Could be, but it still seems that Fredrik played his parts (and the lead guitar) on the album.
While he didn't write on this record, he actually tracked most of the guitars. I would say at least 80 percent of them for TVSOR. Hagström was dealing with an injury or arthritis at the time. On their new upcoming release he didn't do any writing same as TVSOR and only tracked leads and solos. Marten tracked all rhythm parts.
You´re wrong.
Guys, thank you both for correcting ne
