@CallMeRabbitzUSVI crop sensor. That’s where the huge price difference comes from. Had there have been a traditional cmos crop sensor s9 it would have been much cheaper. It’s still no excuse for the things lumix skimped on tho. Either way, more cameras equals more choices for everyone

No ibis on the X-M5 vs the best in the business on the S9. . . . and patchy autofocus on the Fuji vs right-up-there-with-the-best-nowadays phase detect on the Lumix . . . . . it's an easy choice for most shooters looking at these two
Even Lumix realized how ridiculous the record limits were. The S9 is actually kinda interesting now. Still think I lean towards the S5IIx, but at the very least the S9 is now useable. The S9 can drain the whole battery, it makes zero sense to put the record limits in there in the first place.
Great presentation on your end. I expected more on Lumix end. I shouldn't complain as sony and other companies don't do these firmware updates with actual features. But i hoped to see more gh7 features on the s5ii/s5iix.
You're gonna have to wait for the s1hii.. the s5 line corresponds more with the G9 line in terms of features, while the s1 line corresponds with the GH line
I'm in the market for a camera my UA-cam channel, as well as client work (photography, portraits, pets, cars, landscape, street, and wedding...). The ONLY thing that really is holding me back with the S5IIX is the AF. I need for it to be ROCK SOLID when shooting weddings and such if I need a quick shot, or a candid... How is that AF on the S5IIX now after the firmware update?

Got the Lumix G85 , very unrated, has great features,,,, I can't keep up with the latest and greatest from these Companies,,,, Sony FS7MK2, is my Pro Video Camera , as well as the Pana AF101 ,,, One day maybe I'll have extra cash to play with these new Toys......Love Panasonic Lumix Hybrids, still shoot with the Pana GH2 , the best color science of any DSLR camera to date, and its over ten years old.... No company has topped that Film look you get from the GH2,,,,,,,You have to create all types of Post Effects nowadays , to match what comes straight out of that Camera......Back to your Review, It's a Great Small carry around Camera,,and based upon your experience and enthusiasm , I'll check it out asap..............Peace Out.........

The S9 has really matured with this new stuff! A few details though - 4:31 Not quite true I think. The GH7 has been able to focus on the helmet of motorcyclists etc since release. As for remote shooting, that could've been done through Lumix Sync, right? Or was that disabled? Sorry if you mentioned that in an earlier video, haha.
It's a shame that Panasonic didn't fix the AFC on video above F8. AFC only works on Canon EF lenses up to F8. Above that is the focus from the S5 Mark I system, including the Lumix lenses. So if you have EF lenses do not buy Lumix and Sigma MC-21 for video.

No record limits. X-M5 has record limits. Stops at 50 minutes. Both have Open Gate. Adding an external monitor defeats the purpose of having a small camera. Doesn't have better burst shooting than the S9. Smaller size and smaller battery. What's the point of portable lenses of you're going to put a monitor on it to shoot 12 biT rAw?! And only going off specs is a mistake. Lumix cameras have tons of useful video features. You have to actually use the cameras and their features to actually understand the cameras more. I have professional cameras but the S9 is my favorite because of the Real Time Lut and Lumix Lab app. You have to use the camera to understand.
@@kingcutttt While the X-M5 indeed looks like great value I also believe the XM5 has no IBIS. And as some buy the S9 for anamorphics, you might not be happy with the Fuji's APS-C needing a 800 bucks speed booster on top of a typical PL adapter, adding to the price.
Curious your thoughts on whether or not people filming for YT only should just use a pocket 3 and iPhone. Why would we need a Mirrorless etc for UA-cam and socials when everyone is watching on their phones ?
As an aside, the data says folks are watching YT on their TV's...a lot. It was a while back that I was reading how folks are streaming to 50 inch screens a whole lot thanks to smart TV's and the equivalent. Pocket 3s and iphones are still perfectly fine, I think but streaming to TV and even larger devices is a thing

They pulled the update... lol was reading that the firmware was bricking LCD screens on the S9's. Not sure though, but that firmware is gone.
