@@donshields2379 53.5 about 1.5 sec slower. Makes a huge difference in the 8 you gotta ride that thin line between being aggressive but not over doing it. He would have come back in 55.5 and run 1:48.9-1:49.4
@@chinter for sure. but for a season opener, I as a coach would say go balls to the wall. You get a time we can work with. If I want my athlete to run a PR, I'm insisting on a 400 that is closer to a prescribed pace around a 2 second differential, but might as well test the fitness at the early point of the season. If he can run 52 into 54 for a 1:46 PB by the end of the year, there's no sense ever slowing down that first 400. If he's not quite there by the end of the season, we can talk about slowing the first 400.
He totally did go out too fast and with a little better pacing likely would’ve broken 1:50. That being said, it just annoyed me that the announcers treated him like he was going to absolutely die and walk in a 2:15 or something.
As fast as Aaron is, his form and his pacing is slowing him down, his arm movement is very inconsistent and sloppy, not to mention he opens in a 50-51 and then slows down by like 9-10 seconds for his second lap, don’t get me wrong, he his very talented, but this is going to hold him back from his true potential
Wow he's super talented very aggressive runner keep an eye on him
Yeah keep an eye on the Newbury Park kid, what an original idea 😂
Hope Aaron runs breaks 1:47 this year, amazing talent. Think his best event at NAU will be 1500
Bro what are the newbury park kids on
I hope it’s hard work 🤞🏿
They train like a collegiate team
I think it is because of the coaching. Basically tons of coaching and doing more of what works and less of what doesn't.
Great coaching coupled with maturity and dedication at a young age
lot of talent
Everyone here commenting on his form couldn’t break 2 to save their life.
I’ve broken 2, his form sucks
Poor guy runs a 2:06 and looks like he jogged it.
If Aaron could learn how to pace himself he’d be so much better.
How should he pace it?
@@donshields2379 not going out in 52 lol
@@turnerburger what would have been a better time?

@@donshields2379 Typically you want your first lap to be 2 seconds faster than your second lap in your splits.
I can feel the pain of his last 100-200 meters 💀
Terrible pace makes a painful race
Aaron needs to smoothen up his form he looks like he is fighting all the way through
The same as his brother tho
Yes, he runs with pure strength right now. So much potential and his times are already amazing!
He is lol but I know what you mean
These announcers are so bad doing nothing but doubting him the whole race like he doesn’t have a 1:48 pr.
Tbf he did go out very aggressively and was running nearly all a lone up front so it was interesting to see what happens next
51 low is what the pros go out in, and they will finish in 1:43 with that pace. Probably better to go 53-54 so the last 200 doesn't rise above 30

that woman commentator has gotta be high the way she's giggling
Very aggressive arm movement. That has to be killing his energy.
A 25 seconds add are we crazy?
Great job from Digos, Phiippines
Awesome. My Gosh, that is great.
My Gosh
Gon be me
His form is weird tho 😂 his arm movement
Wow!
You cant call it a good Field when you win by almost 4 seconds. A good Field would yield a tighter race
this is definitely an incredibly strong high school field. He’s just miles ahead of them in talent
It’s an amazing field. They all broke 2, unfortunately for Aaron he’s just that good.
trust me - when most of the racers are under 2 in a high school race thats a very good field
