Netherlands deserves another victory in Eurovision Song Contest
Yes I see that this high chance for it💪🏽💪🏽
We are all europeans this song is a message for all of us. 12 points from France to Netherlands
Happy tunes, sad lyrics throughout. No where he goes he can't escape the pain of the loss of his parents. This goes way deep. Pure art
Yes Ann that’s nice tune yet there’s a sad story behind. But this song will touch many hearts and even enjoy the beat.
In the end his past and pain burn. And now there is a new beginning. If you listen carefully you can hear birds chirping
Yes Margavossen I will pay attention to that thanks
Yes I hear the twittering of the bird almost at the end only the fire I notice before.
Joost is a winner ❤❤❤
I feel that so 🤩🥳
Thanks for support the Netherlands ❤
His parents died at a young age and this is a tribute to his parents.
oh that’s the reason thanks a lot for that information. I see this has capacity to be on top for this Eurovision good luck to them greetings 🇧🇪

(The background and meaning of Joost Klein 'Europapa')
This is what Joost said about the song: "'Europapa' is a tribute to my father.
The song is a letter I wrote to my father, who died when I was a teenager."
'Europapa' is about an orphan who travels throughout Europe (and surrounding areas) to find himself and tell his story.
My father gave me a broad view of the world.
Boundaries are made by people,
but my father told me that you can also set boundaries yourself by thinking out of the box.
At first people didn't know me,
but I continue to take every opportunity to show myself.
When people see my act,
the first response should be, “What's going on here?”
and ultimately it touches people and makes them think.
'Europapa' initially seems like a very cheerful act,
but behind that lies a deeper message.

Wow this is very detailed comments. Thank you so much for sharing the background of this song. I watched it again and again and yes we can see more story and the events of this song so powerful message. This high chance of winning good luck to Joost and his team.
Don't mention it. I personally don't know if this will be the winning song, but the message is very strong. I also understand that if you don't know Dutch and you don't know Joost's story, it might be confusing or possibly misinterpreted.

The brief story of Europapa by Joost Klein:
His parents died when he was a kid. His father to cancer at the age of 12, and his mother to a cardiac arrest at the age of 13. So he was orphaned at age 13 and brought up by his brother and sister.
Joost has written Europapa as a letter to his father. His father told him the world has no borders. Borders are made up by humans and so you can create your own world, and that’s what Joost is doing every day from that day on.
After the death of his parents, he started searching for the meaning of life and relief of his pain by traveling, but never actually found it there. He gave people money (psychologists) to help him, but that did not work. Until he realized that he still had time and options to realize his dreams. After all, the world has no borders right? And so he did.
The burning house in the end represents losing but also moving on, in a positive way. Burning your bridges: no longer controlled by pain + sadness, but focused on your dreams. Without borders.
Joost always said to his parents that one day he would go to Eurovision and that day is here and now. 12 points to The Netherlands!

Its about how the parents of the Gen X generation pushed us to a open Europa without borders. It sounds nice back than ... but now its no so fun anymore we are slowly becoming a 3 world country. Sometimes border are good sometimes not. But we had no other choice than to listnen to our parents. Who are mostly dead now and we are stuck with there idea. When u watch the news, everybody can see Europa is not doing well......but we listend to our parents. His father is dead now an we can clean up the shit. Thats what the song is about.
