As you watch the movie you come to realize that the idiots are the racist. Mel Brooks was a genius at making fun of narrow minded people. He did as much to end prejudice in the US as anyone.
As the oil-field cook they asked me to have a pot of beans available as a warm snack for the guys between meals. So every day I made homemade bread & a big pot of beans, different beans each day. After several months the boss pulled me aside. Two things: 1. We all agree you make the best beans we've ever eaten. 2. Please stop... We can hardly breathe in the control room. I know we said beans, not soup, but..... Please..... We've changed our minds, switch over to soup.
This came up in my feed because it was blazing saddles. Recommendation. Don't respond to everything. You don't have to talk to talk. But definitely note the funnier parts. Maybe get someone else to react with you.
Fun fact, Richard Pryor helped right this and the role of the sheriff was actually written for him, but the studio didn't trust him so they went with Cleavon, who nailed it by the way.
Gucci was founded in 1921, so the bit with Bart being done up all in Gucci gear is an anachronistic joke...LOL...just one of many many many anachronisms in this movie. Also, the "too Jewish" joke about the killing of the first born males in a reference to the Jewish story of Passover, the Biblical story of the Jews in Egypt, and the worst of the Ten Plagues that God sent to convince Egypt to free the Jews from slavery.
Funny movie! Still remember some of the lines from it. Clever in how the movie addresses racism. It would be good for you to learn about the actors in this movie and how a few of them were legends of the industry
Ironically when I was a kid, and this was on tv they censored the fart sounds around the campfire, but the n word (fuck you tube censors) was not. Today on tv it's the reverse.
@@censorshipsucks9493 People wouldn't know what they should be offended about if it wasn't censored. They might think it was just a joke and not care. We must stay offended!!!!! Peace.

Richard Pryor wrote some of the script and really pushed to have the controversial N word usage kept in the movie as the producers refused at first.
Great reaction! Now check out Car Wash. Totally different vibe but really captures that 70’s era feel.
I think you’ll enjoy it.
According to the tv censor verson the running time for this movie is only 8 minutes long
Welcome to the 70's and 80's
Talking with his eyes closed is crazy 😂😂😂
