I perform all my duties ahead of deadline, and enjoy my Time Freedom with family. I did this for some 6 months. In our company, when workers came and demanded for Overtime, our CEO had simply said ' No one has 8 hrs of work in this company including me, so no one need to stay for overtime, go home and spend some time with your family'. There is a culture in India, if you stay for more hours bosses will recommend for promotion. Even Labour laws in india restricts employ to work overtime to prescribed hours, this is mainly to improve personal / social life and health including mental health. Employer always says.."sometimes you'll have to "stretch" on the working hours depending on the work".. but that is expected out of you every day..I worked for 19 hours a day for peanuts in Stanchart .. finally I broke down ..they keep expecting more and the pressure is bad.. I had to take a 6 month break after resigning.. i learnt to work smart after that but still ur expected to "stretch"🙄 I hate this corporate culture.

In our company, when workers came and demanded for Overtime, our CEO had simply said ' No one has 8 hrs of work in this company including me, so no one need to stay for overtime, go home and spend some time with your family'.
There is a culture in India, if you stay for more hours bosses will recommend for promotion.
Even Labour laws in india restricts employ to work overtime to prescribed hours, this is mainly to improve personal / social life and health including mental health.
There should be an work life balance.
