  • How to glue tiny pieces of pottery together.
    In this latest The China Repair Studio video, I will be glueing the few tiny pieces from the English delftware vases.
    join me and start learning the skills of ceramic, porcelain and pottery repair.
    We will be covering equipment, adhesives, bonding, filling, sanding, painting and airbrushing.
    We all have a broken piece of pottery, china or porcelain lurking in our cupboards which we can all recycle and reuse.
    I have been a ceramic restorer for many years after training in Oxford, most of my clients are private but I also occasionally work with antique dealers.
    I would love to share my experience with you.

      Hi there, I do use it on mugs and plates myself, although I would recommend looking at the manufacturers instructions to double check. 😀

    Hello Ali,
    An interesting video...the titanium dioxide is a good additive to stop the yellowing.
    Take care.

    I love what you do. I would like to see the same piece covered from the beginning all the way to the Finish of the Peace. If the glue took a week you can make a part 2 and so on.

    Good tip Alison I enjoyed the video as always, for some reason I hadn't picked up before why you used the Titanium Oxide in the glue probably thought it was to colour match the glue to the ceramic, but today the penny dropped, definitely something to get for my kit.

    Allison I have found you through Sue Me. I’m in Houston Texas and am thrilled to find your channel. You are exactly what I’ve been looking for so that I can repair a beloved lamp (half of a pair) made from a lovely Japanese vase that met with an unfortunate accident. Where could I get the small metal tool you use for shaping and pressing the repair medium? I’ll have to watch all your videos to find answers to my many questions. (How wonderful!)

    • @theceramicrepairstudio
      @theceramicrepairstudio  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Janet, many thanks fir joining me, I hope you find my channel useful.
      The metal tool I have is from a UK company called Conservation Resources. I am sure there must be something similar in 🇺🇸. Perhaps your local art shop could recommend you something. Please let me know how you get on. Hopefully you will be able to repair your lamp. 🥰
