LML Duramax 6.6 Head Gasket replacement Part 2

- This is part 2 of the LML Chevrolet Duramax 6.6 head gasket job. I remove the fuel injectors, return lines, and accessory brackets from the front of the engine to gain better clearance for the head gaskets. These LML Duramax engines tend to have better bolts on the exhaust, on the newer LML engines, because they use six point rather than the 12 point bolts. I also show how to remove the return lines on these as they are better, in my opinion, that the ones with the clips.

WOW very detailed. I’m afraid I’ll be doing this very soon to my 2013. Thank You! If I saw correctly I’m close by.
Where are you located?
@@operationoverhaul just over the border in sc near Monroe
@@David-od9gb I know monroe pretty good. I go to eat in Waxhaw every once in a while and have some friends who live in the Roughedge area of Monroe.

Appreciate the video!
Glad that you enjoyed the video and hope that it helped you out. Thank you for viewing as well.
Are you a mobile diesel mechanic? If so, how are do you travel? What do you charge to do head gasket replacement?
I do stuff mobile and at the shop actually. This calls for about 27 hours of labor to do. Without parts I normally charge about 3K to do this job. Then I add the parts on. If you want studs, which I do recommend while the heads are off, will be more than just normal bolts but is worth it in my opinion on a diesel.
Hello nice video, question how many miles. did you have on the engine you are working on. I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax too with 128000 and having all the same issues as the one you have.
Chris
Thank you. If I remember correctly it was around 138k miles give or take 5k. I have another friend with a 15' 3500 Duramax that had the head gasket go at 149k.
@@operationoverhaul thanks for getting back to me. Ya I m just trying to figure out what to do . Was thinking of emissions deleted since I have to do head gasket. It's life of owning a diesel. But I love my diesel truck and I m a diesel mechanic too. Have a wonderful day
