For sure. 30 turns was a long time, if we're honest, but I still didn't feel like using them. What's the point of building up a lord/hero combo when I know they're going to go away at a set time?
I took hell pit, then azreal, then throgg, then wolfrick, then Daemon guy on Albion. This was a pretty easy line without getting back doored too much after throgg was off the field. Probably not the best strat but it's what I used.
I just started my campaign and I’d already started on the first three you mentioned in that exact order lol. Made quick allies with Kislev so figured if I could take the Skaven and Azazel out it would take the pressure off the south at least to start.
How did the Chorfs not declare war on you? If I wasn't being forces into 7 wars at once (not a joke or exaggeration) by turn, like, 35, I could do it, but it's impossible to not be at war at all sides
@@gammothdraws Malakai is so OP with Gotrek/Felix and the spirit of grugni that you can send him to kill Skaven soon as you get first province, then move straight to Azazel, then kill Throgg, then focus Wulfrik. Might not even need a full army to solo the Norscans with Malakai’s army. After you kill Throgg’s faction you’ll wanna start a second army to defend your main province and Hellpit from the North and East. I ended up having to fight waves of forces from Archaon and the Chorfs before I finally built up the economy to push them back and invade them. I know it sucks being surrounded, but through strategy and diplomacy you can at least clear the south and west of any immediate threats, and this faction’s so OP that it almost makes it boring. @@boxinsteadyeddie That's basically exactly what i did, but taking down Throgg and Wulfric took way too long and was basically a merry go round of settlement transfer unless I have a 2nd army or until the Chorfs attack EDIT: I normally played on Easy Campaign and Normal Battle Diff with no bonuses, but recently I switched to Normal Campaign diff. @@gammothdraws yeah sometimes one plan may work in a campaign and then you start a new campaign with the same faction and it doesn’t work this time. It’s been quite a few days since I started the campaign but I may have taken a second half army just to hold freshly captured settlements behind Malakai. I got lucky in that there was oddly no chasing any armies for extended periods of time and by the time I finished Wulfrik I sat the half army northwest to protect from the dark elves/Sigvald, but ended up never having to use it because that entire part of the map decided to fight wars amongst each other and those wars continue into turn 146 where I’m at now, and I still have a defensive army there just in case lol. It wasn’t even a turn after I finished Wulfrik that Archaon and Astragoth started trying to roll in from the Northeast and I had luckily started a third army to do what I originally remembered my second army doing, and it held them back with the garrison until Malakai arrived and even then Malakai could only help keep them back and not push because he was fighting one or two battles every turn, or busy chasing armies that tried to target vulnerable settlements. I also played on normal because I had taken a long break after IE’s initial release. Just wanted to give the game a chance to grow and I didn’t realize how much I missed it
Honestly, the feeling I get from his mechanics makes me think that it's more of a Gotrek and Felix campaign (the fact that he starts with them doesn't help). I've read the 1st omnibus, and it ends on the book with him in it if I remember correctly. My guess is they didn't want to add another "workshop" mechanic in the same dlc. He is best known from ADVENTURES of G&F, but those two are already in the game, so let's give some adventures to their friend and lump them together.
Glad I'm not the only on stressed out and struggling with Malakai's bullcrap campaign. I can barely get halfway through Norsca with 2 armies before Astragoth declares war on me and just takes my capital. Go east first? Too bad, now I have all of Norsca at war with me while my main armies are in the east. Oh hi Archaon!
Ended up having to go back a few saves to send a slayer army to hold the southern province he likes to march thru. If you take the fight fast enough to throgg, by the time he declares war you can mop up Sarl and hit him on two sides
same, 60 turns deep right now. Kislev is dead. The empire was overrun by von Carstein. All demons around me are at war. Skrotz also of course. Bit annoying to get hit by Throgg, Escatic, and even Skaven that early lol but at the same time, you got a gunship so thats nice 😂 getting 3 or 4 people ganging up before turn 10 was a but stressful bit its helping me get better 😂
I feel like in the campaign section this video glossed over the fact that if you are playing on higher difficulties, going west is kind of a death trap. You meet way too many enemies and end up fighting Throgg, Wulfrik, Malus, Epidemius, Throt, and a few minor factions by like turn 15. With the couple armies you can support, this is not advisable. Better to abandon the starting province, take out Throt and other enemies along the way, and find a cozy spot in the mountains with Kislev and Ungrim as allies.
As fun as the dwarf unit roster is, with malakai all you need is gyro copters and a few trollhammer copters. Late game just replace the gyro copters with thunderbarges. Stick a few engineers in your army and you are basically unbeatable Personally I cheeses an entire very hard/very hard campaign like this and it was a doddle
I went west in my first play through and it was a disaster. I went to kill throgg after killing hellpit, but then everyone around me declared war on me. Like constant 20 stacks from epidermus, demon prince, and norsan from east and west. I quit that campaign since all i can do is defend. Next campaign i went east after hellpit leaving my second army to defend. This was easier i found since attacks would b in around my capital mostly and i had walls.
Would like if you get a slayer lord/hero to 20 and they die afterwards, you get a reward for their epic doom. Or just the higher the level the bigger the reward. Without immortality, obviously.
A disculpa cuando puedes subir un video de composición de ejército para las nuevas unidades del imperio nurgle y los enanos especialmente los enanos creo que los han elevado su nivel y quiero ver como crees tu que sus ejércitos que unidades deberían tener
What would an updated army comp look like for this compared to the dwarf guide from about a yr ago? I’m assuming the air units will have a place at least in Malakai’s main army if nothing else?
Someone please explain to me how the Spirit of Grunni is smaller than the Thunder barge that was already released despite being one of if not the largest ever to exist?
My main question here is, how is Nurgles part of the dlc gonna compete with all the new Dwarf and Empire units, heroes, and lords? For the Dwarves and Empire? I am uber hyped to get my hands on these new units. For Nurgle? I could pass ngl... I mean... when it comes to games I like I treat the dlc like pokemon, I gotta collect em all so I'm still gonna buy it cause incompletion bothers my OCD but still. Nurgle looking pretty weak compared to all this glorious gunpoweder n slayer action between Empire and Dwarves.
Nurgle's doing good. If you master the builds and his weird economy he feels insanely strong. Plus the new nurgle LL is practically unkillable. It feels very nurgle. He also gets a crazy 6 legendary heroes and can recruit a bunch of powerful units from other factions like cygors, mammoths, hellcannons etc. Plagues are really good now when you stack them. You can have a plague on nearly every settlement which gives bonus income+150 flat gold everytime a plague spreads. The new rot knights are ridiculously strong too. They are about as powerful as skullcrushers in 1v1 brawls (they seem to trade 50/50 vs them) but the fact they regenerate makes them even better vs the AI.
The rot knights can 1v1 skullcrushers?.... ok then, that's mildly horrifying. I was not aware you got the six chieftains as legendary heroes either, I thought you unlocked em and it served as a system to upgrade and get more units of specific types, knida like a nurgley version of the beastmen's mechanic for getting new units/higher unit caps. That makes the new Nurgle stuff a lot more intimidating than I first thought.
Had to restart my campaign cause archeon suddenly came by and destroyed everything while i was at the chaos dwarfs... norsca is easier to deal with a second army than chaos
On turn 60 I was overwhelmed with the norsca, tallymen, chaos dwarves and archeon so I said fuck it and let them have my settlements while I went horde faction on archeon lol
a little bit sad you still need some form of weaponry in your cities as you cant get your best infantry otherwise but other than that he looks great =)
