Hey void I have a suggestion, when you mention an interaction between two cards or other cards with similar effects you should put up pictures of them too even if they're small bc I sometime have to look them up and it would be nice to just see them. Just a thought but you're doing a great job man
I'm underwhelmed by Deathrite Shaman in EDH. Early game I would almost always rather draw BoP or Lotus Cobra, mid-game I would much prefer an Oracle of Mul Daya or something, and late game I want literally anything else. I get that it's a good card, but Number 1 strikes me as an exaggeration. Anyway, good vid as always!
I like Gaze of Granite, its a bit clunkier than Deed but more sweepers is always good, I also like the Death Priest but like lots of EDH cards it suffers from not being quite as good as another card, in this case Meren
I think Jarad is way underrated. Dredge/self mill and graveyard themes are super, super potent with him. Terrivore, mortivore, Lhurgoyf, Apocalyose demon all synergize with him. And who's to forget the monsters that are the dredge engines like Golgari grave troll, stinkweed imp, golgari grave thug, and life from the loam? Toss in a deadbridge chant, which is one of my favorites when it doesn't end up in the grave, and you can pull random shit frim your grave. Jarad has so many synergies with other golgari colored cards its retarded. Since most of them mill you, its great. Also you don't have to send him to the command zone. Like, ever. If your running ramunap excavator and something that allows you to play more land per turn, you can pull yhe lands you just sacked from yoyr grave and drop jarad without any penalty if he was killed. He's my commander, at the moment. Meren is overrated. Sure, you can pull a creature from your grave, byt Deadbridge chant can and will pull anything from yoyr graveyard. Feel free to disagree with me if you want. Also, Froggy (gitrog monster) is awesome.
No nath or glissa. Nath is a good stax commander for discard effects. Kinda like gitrog where it stalls and slows your opponents. Gitrog deals with lands and well Nath just makes them discard lands, creatures, anything. Throw in a wastenot and a sadistic hypnotist and you are golden.
I personally think the gitrog monster is the best golgari commander. I've piloted that deck since it came out and there really is no limit to the power level, you can do stupid unfair combos with it that put it in the same tier as things like zur or thrasios. Meren however has her limits that keep her from being viable in competitive edh. Gitrog should have been higher for sure
Gitrog is just fine as a stax commander. Smokestack in particular is nuts with the frog, especially when you add land recursion and token generators like Worm Harvest or Titania to the mix (which you almost certainly will). Granted it's not as competitive as a hardcore Familiar Salvage or Doomsday variant, but it's fun and reasonably strong.
I kindly disagree. Gitrog has no real means of breaking parity. He himself makes you sac a land every turn. Multiple lands going to the graveyard at the sametime doesn't trigger him, so deathcloud/smokestack/pox doesn't give u a bunch of cards. The most ruthless way to win is using Dakmor Salvage with a discard outlet to essentially draw your deck, get one of your win cons to make infinite mana, dredge/draw some more until you beat them up with through Exsaguinate, Praetor's grasp their decks away, whatever infinite mana set up you can do. So yes... when you were talking about Gitrog being a staxy general I am like... "Ok but why tho?" You won't pull ahead compared to the rest of the group and if ya dead then that's their fault for letting you get that ahead. So you sir.. get out of here lol! I agree with everything else tho for your Golgari review.
Glissa the traitor, Spiritmonger, Nath of the Gilt-leaf, Creakwood Liege and possibly Sapling of Colfenor

I feel glissa, abrupt decay and nath deaerved mention
YES...!!! I have a Meren deck and she's awesome... Heavily filled with combos and yeah... I have both Deathrite Shaman and Putrfy in the deck too.
these videos are so much fun to watch while doing something else
A guy in my play group managed to get his Lord of Extinction up to 45/45. Definitely not to be take lightly.
My top two commanders are golgari being jarad and nath of the guilt leaf

I love the Shaman. Exiling from graveyards is great it my meta, plus a bit of extra value thrown in, one of the best 1-drop creatures in the game.
Glad to see my favorite vizier on this list, even if she's only 9.

Agree, Jarad should be in the top 5 way above Hapatra and both Vraskas.
Not sure about number one but on the other hand as a main Kess-player,hate Deathrite so much XD
What card is the background art?
MAZIREK IS MY FAVORITE AND ONLY GOLGARI COMMANDER I PLAY. ❤❤❤

Gitrog and crop rotation
i destroyed today with my nath deck it was wonderful i had leyline of the void

3 words: Crucible of Worlds
Hapatra and Vraska over Jarad!? Pfhhhhh. Good list though, just not a fan of where the cards are listed.
good list but no skullbriar ????
Gitrog stax? Someone hasn't played Gitrog monster and is talking out of his ass. Gitrog is a Dredge combo machine.

leon devalire gitrog is built two different ways. Very versatile commander. He is like Nath and Omnath rage combined.
How can you say I haven't played Gitrog when you don't even know about the pox, deathcloud, smokestack synergies? Get out of here lol

If you are playing The Gitrog Monster and not Crucible of Worlds, you are playing it wrong.
Gitrog is the shit
Deathrite Shaman truly is the most powerful Golgari planeswalker.
