Prudence resigns from her teaching position after being criticized for giving a student her copy of a romance novel. She sails for Italy, takes a job at a small bookstore in Rome, and meets Don, who has just broken up with his girlfriend. Prudence and Don tour Italy together, and romance naturally follows.

I find myself loving Rome Adventure even more than when I first saw it years ago. The beauty of Rome and the Italian Alps...And Suzanne Pleshette in her first starring role in only her second film (The Geisha Boy with Jerry Lewis was her first). Of course, there's the golden hunk who was Troy Donahue, with Angie Dickinson as the other woman. Love seeing it over and over again. Thanks for presenting the original trailer. Al de La!!!

Rome Adventure came out when I was 16.. I did not see it then but had a movie magazine with Angie Dickinson's picture on the back. She talked about the fun of riding motorcycles around Rome. The movie typifies the innocence of its period. Suzanne Pleshette is librarian Prudence Bell on a big trip. She looks for love and finds it. Dickinson is her competition. "Al Di La" is the song, perhaps the most romantic piece ever recorded. It takes us "beyond the beyond." Scenes of ancient Rome take us to another place and time.

It is my favorite movie. Scenery well, good music, and Suzzanne Pleshette is the best beauty. It is a sort of movie.
