Pete Droge on House Of Blues TV Show. Pete Droge-Vocal, Guitar; Elaine Summers-Backing Vocals, Percussion; Jeff Trott-Lead Guitar, BV's; Rob Cooper-Bass; Dan McCarroll-Drums
He was part of the post-grunge Seattle music scene. The music labels didn't know what to do the artists who were from Seattle but weren't grunge, so they went...nowhere. Check out the band Goodness. Great music, similar fate.
You commented 9 years ago and you have only 12 likes. Btw, I’m from Nepal and perhaps I’m the only guy who listens to it from this country. Pete Drog are so underrated.
I think we as fans make the mistake of thinking about being famous from our point of view. We want them to get famous and recognised. For artists like him and for example Bahamas it's a matter of choice. The only thing they have to do is wright the number one hit, and believe me, they know exactly how to do that. But if they make that choice their world gets turned upside down and the thing that they have now is gone, along with privacy and living a fairly normal life. Now they get to choose everything ! Their clothes, their look, what they do and when, how many times they get to perform. All of that is gone after the number one hit. And I think they have a pretty good life as is. Sorry for my mistakes in Englisch, I live in Belgium ;) If you're not already into him, check out Bahamas, that guy is incredible too !
Pete Droge VERY underrated! Pete Droge is what one would refer to as a SINGER, SONG WRITER, AND ARTIST. Much of today's music is what would refer to as ENTERTAINERS. ALSO, they do not play an instrument . So, yeah, there is a difference.
I was in mid 20's when my brother brought Pete Droge , Memphis bleek and few more CDs from New York when he visited our home in Nepal. Never occurred my mind that I would listen to such songs as I was more into heavy metal and rock and roll back then. I reckoned I m the only guy who listen to Pete Drog in whole Nepal.
I bought a Pete Droge CD at Goodwill because it looked cool enough. HAd no idea who he was. I'm so glad I did. Pete's band is real, soulful, bluesy rock.
Yes, I wish he was better known, or known at all, here in Europe. Necktie Second is a great album and this is my fave song on it. This song is so moving. I got a free copy of the album from an ex in America, where I was living in the 90's, who worked in a music store. That's how I first heard of Pete Droge and I loved the album!
Thank you Peter Stroud! We need more Pete Droge on UA-cam! I would love to see footage with him and the Sinners or his solo set at the Bridge School 1994. Amazing stuff.
Saw Pete Droge with Elaine Summers open for Tom Petty in the 90's. First time i was ever blown away by an opening act. Been a huge fan of both ever since! Elaines Sparkler is also a gem!
Yes. What a great song, he's a great songwriter and I love his voice. He should be well known here in the UK but I doubt most people have ever heard of him, which is a tragedy.
I used to have this entire set on VHS, but the tape wore out. There were a couple of other great Pete Droge songs (one of which I can't fine anywhere) as well as a great set from Graham Parker. Any chance you could post the whole thing?
He did Sunspot Stopwatch, If You Don't Love me and one other that never got released. I have it on video tape somewhere. Don't recall what GP did, but it was solo acoustic.
I can't believe there isn't more Pete Droge footage on youtube. He's an amazing songwriter.

His music did. Found Pete by chance many moons ago. Love his body of work. Solid. And Elaine Summers truly makes his music even more passionate.

Awesome song...
I've given my cd of "Find a Door", to so many people who hand it back and say thanks. No one gets it. I'll keep trying to find a buyer
Better than most of what has been released in the last 20 years. Period. Mumford and Sons?? Please. Not even close

yo yo ramadillo!
This how I apologized to my girlfriends In the 90s on a mixtape
Oh, that's funny! I'm sure they were thrilled. ;-)
Songs like these are great but then he becomes something of a Jackson Browne in others and completely ruins it.His rock and roll side is very good.
I disagree. Jackson Browne is Jackson Browne, Pete Droge is Pete Droge. They're distinct from one another.
@@catyork6070 No kidding They’re not the same ? That’s news to me
