The top of the scope of the new AWP takes up much more space than the old one. I'm curious if pros see that as something to look out for, like which model gives them the best FOV and tactical advantage?
One of the skins that took super advantage of these changes was the AWP Sun In Leo, the shit tripled in price from £20 to £60 and is now starting to drop. If the scope isn't intended to be a solid colour on CS2 then the prices will just continue to drop.

The weapon skins that can just be placed on a pattern index already have the new models, but other skins, like the print stream, have to be ported over because the skin can’t just be thrown randomly on a pattern square.
i think they removed the colored scope on alot of these because some people who owned these skins pre-cs2 complained or maybe dont like the change. since they already paid for the skin with the black scope its unfair to change it on them after they paid money for it. personally i think some of these look better with colored scope like the pink ddpat, but some look alot worse like the sun in leo in my opinion. they should have an option within the skins to change from textured scope to non textured though.
The Navi sticker on the SG was covering the inside of the scope in front, stickers might look different on the new weapon models and be messed up like the SG
The hard part about transferring old skins is that they are textured specifically to the old models. The new models have different "UV" maps, which means the textures wont match. There are TOO many skins in the game for them to manually adjust these textures to match the new models.
It is not that big of an ask for valve to have done this. the skin economy is a billion dollar market and you could probably hire a few texture artists to get it done in months. Valve take a strange approach to software engineering where they exclusively hire elite programmers and keep the teams really really small. A game as big as csgo would typically have around 300 developers but csgo is reported to have fewer than 10 (although its hard to know for sure because valve allows employees to switch between projects).
anomaly you can copy the inspect in game link, change couple things in it and your friend who has beta can type it into console and inspect your skins. Very nice

The biggest change to the m4 i haven't heard anyone mention is the charging handle and how the suppressor attaches, as a gun guy those where my biggest problems with the original models

i think they will also remodel all skins that are not having a pattern because if u take a closer look u see all remodeld weapons are like awp paw, fizzy pop, pop awp or even case hardened skins cuz they are easy to put on the weapons. so lets wait till the actual release of the game where everything is perfectly finished
the gems look a bit better than they used to, but the normal doppler phases look A LOT better than they used to, there will probably be a bigger price hike on non gem dopplers (but both will go up ofc)

It would be cool if they could re-design old skins for the new models but they still have an option to enable legacy models for older skins.
Some artists will probably do that if they wanted to/had the option to.

TL:DR Pattern based skins will probably rise in value noticeably due to them being able to easily apply to the new models.

old model skins prices might go up, because they are limited, every skin from now on will be on the new models
but the old models are very shit for example the triggers are actually see through because they were made so long ago they wanted to save on textures
