@@igotnoneutral89 yeah we know, that's why it's a red flag. People who obsess over underaged folks who are "barely legal" or folks being "freshly 18" often turn out to be groomers
Toby is originally from Niceville, Florida. As someone from the area, I can testify that there really is a persistent and deceptively widespread drug problem. It would be hard to grow up in the area and NOT be exposed to it in some way. It's unsurprising to me to think that this is something he has struggled with for a while.
Yeah, I'm from Defuniak Springs, right down the road. I remember as a kid going to the local diner and listening to the old men sitting around talking about all the people they thought were on meth. Good times.
When I was younger I saw Tobuscus’s video series about how he would go to comic con and just approach random women and say “hothothothothot” at one point he kissed a girl without her permission. I watched that video recently and realized that that was the least of the stuff he’s done. Although still disgusting.
Chocolate Rain was the old internet's "This is America." A song that has a lot to say in its lyrics and in its performance about the state of the world around it, and yet most people got introduced to it expressly because people thought it was funny. Tay Zonday embraced the meme of it at the time, making commercials and so on while he was still in the lime light (no judgement, but doing stuff for Dr. Pepper is not exactly what the original song was about obviously), whereas the genius of "This is America" is that it not only expressly expected that response, but the song at least in part is about how that response is used to ignore and to mitigate the message of black performers, himself included. No one remembers Chocolate Rain as a song about systemic racism because it's a funny man moving away from the mic to breathe in. And a lot of people probably (especially at first) missed the point of "This is America" because it's a funny man doing wacky dances... all of which are taken directly from minstrel traditions.
The crazy thing is that back when it came out, when I was literally like 12 years old, I actually totally understood the message and used to tell people that it was a lot deeper than people seemed to be realizing and they'd call me dumb and laugh at how I thought this "dumb meme song" had any sort of message.
The difference is that chocolate rain is sutble and you can enjoy the song without knowing its purpose. TIA is preachy, unsutble and is entierly reliant on its music video to get its point across.
If there's one person in human history I can feel comfortable dunking on due to their absolute lack of contribution to the enrichment of society or the furthering of human knowledge, it's Onision.
@NegativeTophat Dude why do you have to do this. First of all, as Quinton pointed out there is tons of evidence for him doing a lot of other inappropriate stuff. Secondly, while I didn't finish reading the post, it's not so much "evidence" as nitpicking details to cast doubt on the story. None of the nitpicks are on their own substantial and they all have possible explanations. That's not "concrete evidence" that's conspiracy theory logic. If small incongruities are such a big deal, why isn't Toby massively contradicting himself about weather or not he was even in a relationship with her a big deal?
that last part about the me too movement, is one of the better descriptors of why i tend to not immediately assume that the accusers of sexual assault are lying, and at least ask for decent responses from the accused. "While men fear being accused of rape and thus identify with the accused, women fear being raped and not being believed. and you can take a random guess which fear is more realistic.". that's extremely well put.
swush In Chile a quote start to get really famous about why we prefer to belive in the victim, it says in english something like : If i belive the victim and she is lying i defend a liar, but if i defend the guy and he is guilty i just defend a rapist. I can live with myself knowing that i defend a liar, i cannot live knowing i defend a rapist. Sorry if my english is not the best, but i hope that is good enough to be understandable
@Cherry As an sexual assault victim myself, yes. I understand thay we never will know the truth behind a sexual crime, mostly because the nature of this type of crimes make them imposible to leave evidence behind, like i was abused for two years but the only thing that i have to back it up are my memories. For this reason when you look this situations you always are the possibility of being wrong, or you defend a women who is a liar and try to ruin a mens life, or you defend a rapist that already ruin this women life... you wil NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH. So is a personal choice decide with what mistake they can live... because whathever you choose to belive you are choosing to turn your back in the other side... for me, i cannot live knowing that i stand a rapist, i just cant. So yes, if you put it like that, yes im ok with ruining someones lifes, but you are ok with leave a rapist on the loose because you trust in a criminal system that has been proven to not work in sexual violence cases.
@@PorkpieJohnny Yes, that bothers me so much. Innocent until proven guilty goes for both parties. If you use "innocent until proven guilty" as a defense for one person and not the other person then you already picked a side.

I just wanted to say that because of the shape of the crystals in kosher salt, you would get less salt packed into a certain volume than if you used regular table salt. You know, I didn’t notice until this video, but Tobuscus’ mannerisms, humor, style of speaking, and denial of horrible abuse by gaslighting his victims is very reminiscent of Onision.
Tbf that kind of humor was very much the bread and butter of early UA-cam. Just Onision didn't evolve with the times because he's so emotionally stunted that he can't even evolve creatively.
The early part of the video reminded me how mind-numbing the content I watched as a youth was, so I probably shouldn't judge what kids today are doing with their time.
Wow there were definitely some red flags in Tobuscus' early content that no one noticed because UA-cam was still so new and mainly kids were watching it.
I like how onision claims that a person lies a lot in a average conversation when shit like assault and abuse are not topics in an average conversation
I know a man who was GENUINELY falsely accused of assault, and it broke him. I've never seen a man so hurt. And yet, he still supports the #MeToo movement and believes and supports those that come forward and tell their stories.
My brother had a similar, though slightly less serious, ellegation brought against him. this was after his only High school friends shamed him for being a straight white male. And he still supports BLM, pride, and MeToo.
Knowing Toby’s problematic actions later in life makes his earlier videos really hard to watch. His inability to say or do anything without mentioning sex really just shows how he’s always been this person. I guess we all thought or hoped that it was an exaggerated character for his UA-cam channel but… y’know…
I had a lot of friends in school who would talk about him all the time, but for some reason I never got around to watching him myself. I clicked this video mostly expecting to see what his content was back in the day, but instead... yikes. Even before the video got serious it was pretty uncomfortable

I think In middle or elementary school my class mates or sister watched his stuff and I could not see the appeal. Unfortunately when the accusations came out I was still deep into my “anti-SJW” phase and all of those braying jackasses jumped to Toby’s defense and conveniently neglected to mention a) all of the allegations against Toby, and b) that MULTIPLE women had accused him of abuse. That I ever let myself get suckered by those pied pipers will remain my greatest regret in life.
Yeah, I told this one friend online who was also a fan of his about how there was evidence of him having a crackpipe on the background of one of his gaming videos. She didn't believe he was a drug addict but could see the accusations being right while for me it was reversed.

They're quotes that are so generic that you legit can't tell them apart from your typical loud 10 year old playing an FPS. Which is essentially Toby's audience anyways.
It was honestly less that they were his best lines and more that they're the stuff he always falls back on. So, as someone who used to watch his content, they were kind-of like these weird recurring gags that were never really funny but they stuck around because they kept coming up until that was just sort-of the thing he did? Looking back, none of Toby's content was really that great, but there was at least a weird entertainment that came from going to a channel and knowing exactly what you were going to get, you know? Hope that kind-of makes sense. Like "I'm Dead, God Dangit" was more-or-less his catchphrase for a lot of games.

Secondly, while I didn't finish reading the post, it's not so much "evidence" as nitpicking details to cast doubt on the story. None of the nitpicks are on their own substantial and they all have possible explanations. That's not "concrete evidence" that's conspiracy theory logic. that last part about the me too movement, is one of the better descriptors of why i tend to not immediately assume that the accusers of sexual assault are lying, and at least ask for decent responses from the accused.
Sorry if my english is not the best, but i hope that is good enough to be understandable
swush i mean, I was falsely accused of rape by someone who was my best friend, so it sorta is a realistic fear. Just sayin

Please someone explain this part to me. I know Ricky, did he say something dumb?
@@polymathable Ricky Gervais, after getting some minor criticism on Twitter for joking about Caitlyn Jenner in 2016, decided to double down on mocking trans people, joking that he identifies as a monkey. Basically, just rewording the attack helicopter copypasta from 2014 as late as 2018. Even ignoring the fact that he's punching down at trans people, it's a lazy, overused, and rehashed joke.
Thank you. I know you posted this a year ago, but really, thank you. I was raped at gunpoint a week before my 19th birthday and a week later my "best friend" told me to stop acting like a baby and get over it. She still doesn't understand why we aren't friends anymore. I dont understand her lack of empathy.
the revelation that toby “nugget in a biscuit” turner now makes shitty transphobic jokes in the same format as 2011 comedy skits is truly terrifying and confusing.
Steam_Dev due to the human lack of free will they have literally no choice but to feel how they feel, on the others hand, transphobia is just shitty dude
@Steam_Dev Imagine commenting that on a 5 month old comment. Idk if they were offended, but not everything is excusable under the guise of a joke. I'm so tired of people being offended if other people don't like jokes that are at the expense of hurting minorities.
@@melanierose4140 but sometimes something just, u know... is a joke. You see i believe in equality, so i believe everyone deserves to be made fun of equally. Either everything can be made fun of, or nothing can

@@TheRealSplexy Jokes are fine. Great comedians talk about this all the time. They have to be funny. But there is a clear line when you are making fun of minorities and being harmful. Just don't do that and you won't be seen as an asshole. Punching up is always a good idea too. Sometimes people will say what they did was a joke and they will get away with something horrendous. What I said shouldn't apply to you. But if you feel like it does then you might want to take a step back and think about what you are saying about people.

i'd already heard the stories about tobuscus and i was like "yeah he can't do anything that'll surprise me in THIS video" and then as soon as you whipped out the "metoo late" video a blood vessel popped in my head.
Hi Quinton, I've been quietly binging all your videos but I just wanted to say thanks for this one. I went through the experience of accusing someone of abuse and losing all my friends because of it, being called a liar who was going to ruin his life and all that stuff. The police said he seemed ok because he had a "nice family". It was just the worst time and I really appreciated how you discussed the topic in this video. It's made me feel a little bit more seen. Thank you!
Stay strong brave friend
One day circa 2017 I was on a nostalgia trip through UA-cam and thought "Huh, I remember 'Dramatic Song' being really clever and hilarious" so I watched it. Then I clicked on Tobuscus's channel to try and find "Allergy Rant" and instead that transphobic dog video autoplayed. "Oh, oh no." I said out loud to myself. Then I saw comments about how "This is hilarious! Too bad it won't get views because of some accusations that probably aren't even true" and I never clicked another Tobuscus video again. Because I didn't need to know what the allegations were to know EXACTLY what they were.

When you said that men identify with the accused because that's their fear, you legitimately changed my perspective on why the disparity exists. As a woman who has been assaulted, I couldn't understand, but that makes so much sense and it hurts, honestly.
I was at an open mic night once that turned into stories and poems and music about assault, and the one man who went up did so to talk about his friend being accused, which he claimed was false. All of the women were uncomfortable.
