I just saw this film for the first time a couple of nights ago. It nearly wrecked me. Shelan O'Keefe was simply amazing (as was the rest of the cast), and Clint Eastwood's score was heartbreakingly beautiful. A hidden gem I'm so glad I discovered!
The scene where Heidi (Shélan O'Keefe) sits on the curb at night is one of my favorite movie scenes, with some of the finest acting ever. She knows something is wrong but doesn't know what; she looks down, head in hands, then looks up again looking somehow ten years older inside.
Any each time I said that I'll not watch American movies anymore I find myself in front of a deep film like this .. Grace is Gone just bring me back to the beautiful drama films that I love :)
I didn't think such a movie could affect me as much as this one did. But, oh boy, it did. I know how it feels to lose a mother and lose people who've been in the army. They make sacrifices for us on our behalf.
