Loved the landing at around 20 mins in. Great example of difficult visibility conditions when in flight & landing. Great job boys, keep up the awesome videos!

“Hood of shame”...........the plastic collar-cones we had to use on dogs to prevent licking or chewing their stitches out is called the cone of shame here on the farm. Poor dogs always thought they were in trouble when they had to wear them.
Thanks for the video men. I think Sam is a natural and hope he lands the perfect job.

Gotta say I've seen dozens of helicopter training videos, and you are by far the best trainer I've seen thus far sir!! LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE ALLLLL DAY!👍👍👍

Radio will most certainly be my achilles heel in aviation. I couldn't repeat all that back without asking 3-4 times again, lol. I'll need some serious practice there. It seemed that you didn't struggle one bit with the radio, right from the beginning Sam. Nice work! I grew up in the 80's - too much brain cell abuse I guess, LOL. 😂

Dead reckoning pilotage and IFR is my favorite to do.

I’m currently practicing my radio calls in fixed wing
I’m a very quiet person naturally and don’t like talking, and having to do radio calls where I am is really daunting because they’re very unforgiving.
I live in London so it’s very crowded airspace and a lot of professionals sit in freq and it really haunts me since I’ve heard on multiple occasions a pilot making a mistake and people in the future lightly mock them.
Anyway.. really jealous of the amazing playground you have there in Canada with the mountains snow and amazing views. Keep up the great vids

Dude never feel bad about comms control, its a daunting thing for anyone, if anyone tells you otherwise they are lying and or never once been in front on a flight.

Been a while since I flew out of Langley, when did they pave the east/west? Depart West and look to the right, that was my HS. Love your progress Sam.

Hi Mischa, I looked online for a pdf of the Canadian sectional for Vancouver and didn’t find one. It would be great if you could post a jpeg of the area around Abbotsford so the viewers could see where you fly to.
    Thanks for the great videos.

Man I wish my instructor were as easy going as you are. I SUCK at tower calls and having a hard a$$ instructor doesn't make it any easier. 🤣

Hi Mischa i was just wondering why this Helicopter (and many others i am sure ) doesn't have an artificial Horizon old style ie NOT electronic in case of equipment failure as demonstrated in other video ..just wondering .

Misha, or Sam, thanks for the radio work vid... awesome (though you were blessed by the lack of traffic gods)... quick question, in the States it seems to be the practice, though not always, to call the cardinal direction from a controlled space/tower and distance (with intentions). You guys seem to use landmarks or positions over landmarks... is that the normal practice in Canada? Seems that would put pilots not familiar with the area at a disadvantage when building situational awareness... That second landing with the sun directly behind you and the full shadow was so cool 😎

Hey Mischa. I notice there's always a white cord coming from your helmet to your lap. Are you recording your audio using an iPhone headset mic inside your noice cancelling earcup?

So my problem with flying is money. where I fly its almost $600 an hour for the r44 rental. do you have any ideas for me to be able to accelerate my training to a more steady and consistent basis. its hard to retain things I learn when I cant fly on a consistent basis.

You need to get with a flying school where you're not have to rent an aircraft.

Man listening to air traffic controllers is hard for me to understand when they speak so fast. I would would constantly be asking for them to "repeat last". I guess if you do it day in day out would be easier. Lol
