    I’ve got Tech10, Sidi Crossfire SRS3 and Atojo and have ridden Tech7. Have hundreds of hours on the T10 and SRS3.
    This video rings true for me.
    I think the biggest difference between the Astars and Sidi is the stiffness of the footbed Chase demos toward the end. The flex and feeling through the sole of the Tech 7&10 is quite dramatic if you’re used to Sidis. I find it much easier to accurately place my feet with the Astars. But the solid nature of the Sidi footbeds is confidence inspiring in the bush: it’s hard to imagine ever breaking foot bones in the Sidis.
    For comfort the Astars are way ahead - pillow-like - but the Sidi feel form-fitted, slim and almost elegant despite being much firmer.
    For ankle support the Atojo is well ahead of the T7 but the T10 smashes the Atojo - and every other boot on the market.

      I broke all my toes in my left foot off a hill climb wearing Tech 10s because of the toe part being too flexible, wouldn't of happened in the Sidi's.

    Hi Chase, I wear size 12 on Fox Instinct. Should I buy the same size for Tech 7s?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Barney. Yes, I would get the same size. The Tech 7 does fit just a tad larger than the Instinct, but the Instinct runs a little small for most people. So get your normal size. - Chase

    Both are Italian Engineered, so you can't go wrong ;) I love my Tech 7's but would try the SIDI for a change! Either way, it's a win-win.

    3:53 The thickness of the toe box is the deal breaker for me. I can’t deal with getting a thick toe boot under the shifter.

    I hear you mention heal float in a lot of boots. I think the reason you have heal float in so many boots is due to have large calves. Because if you think about it, when you move< the top of the boot is being pushed down by your calve. Ive tried several boots including the tech 7s and never found this to be the case. Just a thought.

    Is the sizing comparable (the same)? I wear size 44 in the Alpinestars Tech 7 and I want to get a pair of Atojo.

    What’s with the Alpinestars buckles going in two directions? I have some and it’s seriously irritating!
    I’ll also add that flexible toe box on the stars is what gave me a broken metatarsal and torn ligament (Liz frank injury).

    I need to know what the diameter of the Sidi is. I tried the tech 7 and it closes but a lot of Velcro showing on top and then small gap around the shin area closure. I was hoping something would maybe have little more calf space to have a more complete close

    Are the atojos too loose with only 3 buckles?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  7 місяців тому

      I haven't felt like it is too loose with 3 buckles. The upper buckle on most boots is just to keep the boot closed and the velcro panel on this boot does fine. - Chase

    I recently purchased sidi crossfire 3 boots after 10yrs in t7 and t10 first 2 rides resulted in 2 close calls with trees because I couldn't find the brake pedal. No peg pedal or shifter feel with the sidis I liken them to riding with wooden boxs on your feet astars all the way

    Alpinestars, are you making the 90's colors a comeback with pink and neon green? Chase, please tell me it's not so!

    Hi Chase
    ThermoPlastic Urethane has a very poor lifespan.
    The Sidi my father was rocking in the 70's were all leather and inox. They lasted for decades.
    The Sidi I bought lasted 5 years and, because I didn't have the chance to ride much, I had to put them in the rubish bin after very few miles.
    And so it goes for Fox, Gaerne, Alpinestar...
    I'm a fan of the BIO (Buy It Once) idea, and I think Off Road boots should be in the category.
    Do you know of some TPU Free Off Road Boots ?

      You pretty much have 0 options then. My fox boots lasted 16 years. They are breaking apart now, but I’m satisfied with the level of protection they provided and the lifespan for the money I paid. I’m okay with throwing them away now for a new nicer and upgraded tech boot to suit me and my riding now

    I might be the one person the Tech7 doesn't fit. My foot is a 12wide and where the Tech7 footbed angles in is right on my toes, they caused a lot of pain over half a season I wore them. The only boot that seems to fit me is the size47 Sidi CF2 TA sole...That said, I've had a ton of quality issues with my Sidi boots, on top of that, the Customer Service is difficult to deal with.

    the tech7's rear protection is bad. during an imbalance in a turn, it happens that your leg starts from behind and your shoe hits the footrest where there is no plastic protection. you can injure your Achilles tendon and tear the flexible fabric of the boot.
