What's the longest you've waited to get a trim??
Chile too long. One time I kept a single installation of synthetic mini braids for nearly 8 months. 🤦🏾♀️ I was in the midst of a very severe depressive episode and things were out of control before I knew it. I was eventually hospitalized and have since recovered. My doctor at the time asked me if I had considered changing my hair in order to feel better. 😂 LBVS that made me feel so terrible I just cut them off when I got home . My hair was 3 inches long. 🤷🏾♀️ My not so accidental big chop was the longest I ever went without a trim. lol I have never since neglected my hair so severely.
3.5 years! I went natural during Rona. My last relaxer was Dec 2019. I always trimmed with the touch up. I got faux locs in Feb 2020 for a vacation. Held onto them for a long time cuz it was the height of Rona and Salons were closed. I continued to transition and went fully natural cuz I was afraid to go to the salon. I did search and destroy for 3 years. July 2023 I got braids again for a vacation. I had my stylist trim my hair then. She said my hair was healthy and she didn't have to cut a lot, it was a regular trim.
I dust my ends every time I do mini braids so like every 4-5 months 🤭

I always wait 6 months to get my hair trimmed. It really helps me with length retention. I used to get my ends cut every 3 to 4 months but my stylist told me I don’t need to be coming in as often as I did

I would not recommend this for the vast majority but I waited a year and a half by accident (lol). I ended up only getting 2 inches cut off which is pretty minimal considering it grew from a below shoulder length bob to above waist length. I wore a ton of protective styles during that time it grew.
I trim twice a year (every 6 months). Happy New Year 🎆.

Your hair looks great! 🥰💙.. the longest I’ve waited to get my hair trimmed is around 10 months (not quite a year 🤷🏽♀️) .. now I’m making sure I stay on top of my trims 🥰👍🏾 I’m going to try 3 to 4 months (closer to 4 😂)

Lol! We go in and out of conversations but after a while my social battery def wears off. I think we are both similar like that
Can you tell me how often I should get a trim? My hair is natural, no chemicals, no heat but I was told every 8wks. I barely saw length and wondered if my hair was growing. I decided to go longer without a trim like three months and once I did get a trim, I saw a lot of growth. My stylist didn’t even have to trim much and told be my hair was getting thicker and growing. Would every three to four months be too long.
i think every 3-4 months is good but talk to your stylist and get their professional opinion

The video clips I got wasn’t an accurate depiction of the whole trim. I was multitasking while trying to film. She trimmed about an inch off all around
I don't think she knows how to cut natural hair, she was dusting and you could have done that yourself
