This was a superb raag desi rendition by most respected pandit ji. His imagination just unfolds live. It is pure bliss to hear such a creativity, shuddhatha, esthetics and preciseness. So much respectful of the accompaniments. Tabla and Harmonium were very good too. Tabla was ringing superb at the top shadja.

You can occasionally get glimpses of Pandit D V Paluskar in his singing. He is a very unsung artist. He is the finest classical music vocalist of the present. Unfortunately, classical music concerts records and CDs are gone now. Artists have to depend on UA-cam now to reach their audience.

Namaste Ramachandran ji, thank you for this comment and for spending your valuable time on our channel.
We have a few very engaging audience who post lyrics for most of the bandishes, but we haven't ventured into that area yet. We will surely think about it.
      Thank you.

Great request - A bandish may seem like just a binding of several words - often very powerful message - and gives a lot of bhaava amplified when set to music - especially in how the artist repeats certain words, and puts a slight emphasis here and there, now to get a meaning ... a lot of it gets lost in translation to English. It also gets trivialized even if we just write the words alone in the native language. There is so much in those words in how they are arranged and said in slight re-ordered fashion to make certain rhythmic patterns. In this specific two bandishes - the mood is romantic - The 1st vilamibit bandish - sakhi maika chainan aave - nisadin naina maika kal na parath more - kaise kahu ab raina dena - conveys the mood and the feeling of missing one's sakhi for a few days and the bandish itself says in "kaise kahu ree ab raine dena - how to explain that feeling, leave it alone 🙂", le. The 2nd dhrut bandish is slightly different mood of awaiting/welcoming one's sakhi back home - goondha goondha laavore malaniya - phoolende haar vaa - aaj more ghar mohan aaye - chahu mai phoolende singaruva - a loose translation is - bring lots of garlands made of flowers for me to dress up to welcome my love coming home today.
