    Nice looking floor! One thing about cutting, if you do use a circular saw be sure to use a fine-toothed blade (recommended by RaceDeck) and it's good to line up the ramp transition where you want it before installing the rest of the tile. Racedeck videos explain this, showing the transition on the inside of a closed garage so as not to interfere with garage door closure, insulation, etc.
    They have those guillotine chopping tools but they get pricey for the larger 18x18 tiles, about $350. Might still be worth it for easier and cleaner cuts with no plastic dust created from a circular or table saw. For 12x12 tiles (standard) they're much less. Trouble is, I don't know what else I would use a guillotine chopper for after installing Racedeck. I suppose one could sell it locally after.

    Great job ! It almost looked a little easier than the swisstrax stuff to install especially around the edges when trimming what did you use to cut the edge more than razor blade? kind of pricey but looks fantastic

    Hey Phil, I also put Race Deck tiles in my garage. I love it great product. I want to hear your thoughts after you use it a while. Mainly of (gonna sound weird) the sound. I went with solid Diamond pattern one 12" tile black next on 12" red and one red right down the middle to get the his n hers look. the middle is silver 12' vented to allow water to drain. the thing I do not like is the louder sound when walking on the solid tiles. It is very loud compared to the vented. I also did the custom Harley Davidson orange and black for my bike.. looks great!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks man! Really the sound of walking on it?! I noticed it a little bit but it actually makes me happy to here that sound 🤣. It doesn’t bother me actually. I thought about the vented ones too but I wanted to mop it too!

    • @chicagomike2111
      @chicagomike2111 3 роки тому +1

      @@MirandaDetailing I hear ya brother, For me it is not so much the loudness as it is the plasticky sound.. is that a word plasticky.. lol. I have heard people use a 3000 grit sandpaper to lightly scuff it up and help with the slickness. Side benefit I found was sliding the QuickJacks.. you know how heavy they are and the tiles, vented and solid make it a breeze to slide them under the vehicle. No matter what, Race Deck is an awesome product..! So so happy I did it in my garage and you will be too. Love the Blue you used, Looks great Phil..!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +2

      😁 funny! I would totally use the word “plasticky”. I have a tip for the quick jacks when I start filming that video to help with the jack scratching or getting hung up on the tiles! 😎👍🏼

      @@MirandaDetailing the cement or concrete floor you have maybe could have been protected with acrylic paint which is clear and the thing about it is makes it impermeable and it would not have different spotting like those that could be caused by oil spills or chemicals. I did that in my home because we have done that for years in our island since our homes are built in concrete. On my 4th home I used a paint that is gray which is normally used at mechanical garages like Advanced Auto or Pepboys that basically does the same. Both protect but with the acrylic paint the concrete being very flat like that in Costco, it will be protected and the concrete keeps the same concrete color. Once I have the floor protected I would have installed that same floor. Just a suggestion in case you do some mechanical job or anything on the garage and you have a spill that will go between the top floor gaps you have installed.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому

      Oh I see. I didn’t seal the concrete and it wasn’t sealed before. It was just bare concrete. The water would soak into it and it would be dusty just as regular concrete would. We did clean it out a few months ago so it looked cleaner.
      I thought about sealing it but this was an easier quicker job.

    • @1stfrompuertorico568
      @1stfrompuertorico568 3 роки тому +1

      @@MirandaDetailing yes, that is why we seal it first because also water accumulates on that bare concrete and if sealed is easier to dry and prevents mold from accumulating. If you don't use water or do mechanical work I think you will be safe.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +1

      Oh cool! The cool thing about these Racedeck tiles is the grid design on the bottom. They allow air and water flow! Pretty cool right! Plus I can pull up tiles in the middle and put a fan there if needed. But we don’t wash in here or get the floors excessively wet. So hopefully we should be good. 👍🏼

  • @T.Mitcbree

    How does the water drain out if doing an inside Rinse/Wash.
    I've seen a lot of "Detailers" install this type of floor so they can work inside during crap Weather.
    Looks Great and Id love it too but unless the garage concrete floor is appropriately angled for run off, it just seems a wasted opportunity.
    Not a direct negative at you. Just thought these floors directed run off.
    Unless I missed something.

      Curious about washing inside when weather does not co-operate .

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +2

      Hi. No. I wouldn’t actually do a traditional wash inside. Way to risky. I don’t need drainage since I can just mop it up now. I didn’t want vented floor tiles either. The dirt and dust would accumulate underneath and when I run my blower to dry it could cause dirt and dust to go into the air. The floors are not angled so it’s not a worry. So far super happy with them! 😎👍🏼
