  • In this video, I compare the 2 market leaders in Plastic tiles i.e RaceDeck and SwissTrax. Including my tile buying experience. Both are great tiles and I go over both of them with a fine tooth comb. I don't do silly bending tests but I go over practical traits. Just for the record, this is not a sponsored Video.

    it's been a little over a year since we got our 3 car garage Swisstrax and have been very happy with the product and, as Jim says, the exemplary customer service. My experience with Swisstrax mirrored his ....very responsive (unlike Racedeck) with no-pressure, helpful answers to my questions. I was also able to take advantage of a periodic sale and shipping via FedEx was also complimentary. I had some execess tiles and was able to return those for a refund less my return shipping charges. Hardest part....deciding on style and color scheme but their on-line configurator helps you visualize your designs before ordering.

    Great video. I couldn't decide which company to go with. For me service is very high on my list. If RaceDeck could not find the time to be of service during the sales experience, then god know how respondent they would be after sales. My mind is made up. SwissTrax it is. Thanks again.

      I would reach out to both the companies. When I called racedeck it could have been that they were super busy due to the holidays. While that is no an excuse, I would like to give them benefit of the doubt. I am not paid by either of the companies and both of their tiles seem almost equal. But I iam glad you found some value in my video. Thank you for leaving a positive feedback,.

    Hello !! Just finished installing the Racedeck Freeflow (18” x 18”) on my 42ft by 36ft garage. I couldn’t be happier !! They’re the pioneers in the industry and have patents on their products. They’re made in the good old USA ! Their pricing is better than Swisstrax, been there donde that. When you submit your design on their configurator, they’ll adjust the pricing including shipping. I had great communication from day one. I highly recommend their 18” x 18” tile. The size difference is noticeable and looks better. At the end, both products look similar and most important, look awesome when you open the garage door 😎

      David Morales I did mine with swisstrax. But I was open to both at the start. Both claim to be pioneers, both claim they have patents, both market it almost to be equally good. But when I inquired , race deck didn’t reply to my email or call me , whereas I got excellent service , call back , explainations from swisstrax. I am not saying everyone would have the same experience as me with racedeck. Maybe it wasn’t their finest hour. But it made me go for swisstrax. But I am sure racedeck is equally good too. Congratulations on finishing your garage flooring. 42ft x 36ft is huge.. I can’t afford that size in bay area, California.

    Basically they are about the same but I will go with the American made Racedeck, they have been in business for over 40 years I have read there customer service is excellent!

      Everyone should do their own due diligence. Both are excellent companies. One was better for me , doesn’t mean it would be the same for everyone. Congratulations on getting racedeck flooring. I am not paid by either. But I like good looking garages. I am sure it would look really good for you.

    Been looking at Swiss for my garage for sometime but wondering how do you plan on cleaning under it with all the dirt that will accumulate and fall through the holes, a blower would just push to the end? also concerned with dropping parts and having to disassemble to recover? Great looking garage!

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez  4 роки тому +1

      well if you have a shop vac all the dust from underneath would come right out. if you use a blower you are blowing it out of the garage so you start inside and blow it outward towards the garage door. i personally use a shop vac. now about the parts or small screws that fall through. well that's going to be a problem if i am honest. i have already lost the screw to my cutting tool for my dremel. majority of the work i do has bigger tools and bolts but if you work with smaller screws that can fall through you will have issues.

      @@Jimboyrulez it's not a problem. Buy a paint can tool that pulls the paint can lid off.
      Then just stick it under the racedeck or Swiss tracks. Pull up, it will unlicp and come right up. You can grab your small nuts & bolts or even wipe up an oil spill. Then it simply clips right in. It's literally super simple.

      Sure, but when I tried contacting them their service sucked for me. For me, their patents arent useful to me but quality of service is. Instead of replying to my mail or calling me they sent me a free sample. I didnt even ask for a sample. I had questions. Racedeck never bothered. Where as swisstrax went above and beyond for me. Racedeck lost a sale.

    Hello, we were looking at the epoxy route but learned about these. We are just going to use our garage for daily storage and convert half into a gym. Would you suggest these for normal use?

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez  3 роки тому

      for normal home use they are great. For gym use i think there should be rubberized version. The plastic tiles are very strong and i am sure they would be fine even if your drop weights on them. The only thing to keep in mind is that you wont be able to walk bare foot comfortably or if you plan to do yoga then sitting on the plastic tiles is uncomfortable. But for home use, for most part they are awesome.

      Ok, that makes sense. In that case these should be perfect. I absolutely love mine. We spend a lot of time in the garage. We use our garage for storage and some light work and also for parking. And the tiles still look like brand new.

    So if you live in a snow climate, the mud and water will run through the panels. Then it’s that a problem to have mud dry into dirt under the panels?

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez  2 роки тому

      I live in california so I do not have first hand experience. But you can brush it off and then use a shop vac. I have a milwaukee shop vac which I absolutely love. The rare instance when it rains in california and when I bring some light mud or dirt in, all I do it use my shop vac and everything under the flooring gets sucked out. I think even with heavy sludge, mud that is dried can be cleaned the same way. The frequency, in snow climate, of one needing to use shop vac would be higher. But I was told the tiles that are diamond trax are better for snow then ribtrax. As you can just sweep diamond trax and mud and snow doesnt really go through them. But again , no personal experience. Just sharing knowledge the sales person shared with me.

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez  7 місяців тому

      Thats a very good question. We leave our garage open all day. We installed these tiles a few years ago. So far they havent got any damage. I live in california so there is a lot of sun. They havent gotten more brittle or anything. So its been a couple of years and everyday since morning to evening our garage stays open and from my experience I would say no UV damage yet.

      How has the Swisstrax worked out for you overall?

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez  3 місяці тому +1

      @MrSkeptical , flawlessly…. I am very happy with them. But if I had to pick one thing that I don’t like about them, then that is when I drop something small, it’s lost forever. If I am working on something and drop a tiny screw… I don’t even attempt to find it anymore because it’s like a black hole and small things dropped are lost forever. lol… but if you don’t work with tiny stuff in your garage, then they are perfect in every other way.

      @@MrSkeptical technically yes. It’s tricky but you can undo individual tiles. But if you have to undo them everyday , it’s not that easy and it would get tiring. At that point I would suggest a different solution.
