"Who knew furniture arriving would make me so happy?" 😂😂 All of us, Hermione. Everybody. Every single body knew it would make you happy! And when you're happy, we're happy! 😊
Have you considered hanging a curtain across the whole back wall in your loft? It would hide the closet, but still be accessible, and just look even and decorative.
Was thinking about suggesting the same! Would look so much 'cleaner' and more calming too :) It's probably quite easy to do so too, with those adjustable curtain rods one can get for showers etc!
I would turn the bed the other direction! And have the headboard facing that railing. That way the foot of the bed is at the closet and it’s more access. I think having the headboard the other way would open the space more too. I’m excited to see what else you do with the space!
No offense, but I totally disagree. Sleeping with your head near the railing and the stairs would feel very unsafe and vulnerable. I think Hermione has it in the best spot possible. ♥
I thought of this too. Darker and cozier for sleeping. Adding a color fabric behind the headboard would separate it from the railing (could use cardboard from all the boxes and cut to size). And the bed wouldn't cover the closet as much.
All nice ideas (turning the bed around) but….. if you subscribe to the feng shui (furniture placement) having your bed facing a wall is not good. 😢 There’s much more to consider and I think Hermione is aware of those things.
Suggest that you put your desk behind your couch where you can place a lamp and your drinks. This way you won't need a coffee table and it frees up space for other things. Good job...it's looking so much more like home!
For that cubby area in the loft you could style it like a window with the shades down and then put a light in there to make it look like a window with light coming from the other side. I hope that made sense 😅 lol
Put the desk behind the sofa you could work at desk & project something to view onto wall. Put the head of the bed against the rail at the top of the stairs so you are looking away from the window. The headboard will be like a room divider to downstairs. Take your sox off when going up & down stairs or get some grippy water shoes as they are rubber bottomed & you won't slip! Fluff comes from all of your clothes/sofas etc etc - its part of life. You don't see it on carpets quite the same. Laminate floors are SO cold & SO dangerous!
To have the bed on the loft i think people usually dont use the headboard and lower part, only some wooden planks underneath it so that it's not too high
If you put a curtain and tension rod in the doorway of the storage space in the loft it will camouflage that your bed is in front of a doorway and feel cozy!
Regarding the fluff on the floors, maybe it has to do with having all new textiles in the apartment? Surely after some cycles of washing they'll be de-fluffed a bit?
Not sure anyone mentioned yet but: 1) your sense of style girl 🤩, I wish I could be as creative !!! 2) that side table and table!!! Chrome ? I never knew I needed Chrome in my life again?!!! 3) try turning the bed 380 (feet where head kinda turn), it will feel more like a room and you might access the cubbyhole better and might help decorating, downside is you might have to move the bedside table away from your head (silly I know).
I think a long chest of drawers the same size/height as you couch could work really well, instead of a coffe table people could put their drinks there, also the projector could be there, and then you can use the drawers/doors as extra storage
The apartment is starting to look so nice! Think the bed in the loft is the best decision as it gives you so much extra room on the downstairs area. Love the desk and the table. Cant wait to see more 😊🩷
Have you considered putting your empty suitcases under the bed and using that nook to hang all your clothes in, this would give you extra space in the lounge to hide piles of your work related stuff. BTW, Nice addition to the furniture ::)
I would put your clothes in the front door cupboards and turn that clothing box onto its side for a sideboard and storage baskets. Also, swing out the couch on a slight diagonal away from the wall a tad?
Wood floors require more maintenance due to dust in the air, skin shedding, and fabric fibers. Carpeting “absorbs” these things so you don’t see it until you vacuum it up. Carpets also need to be cleaned regularly so wood floors are more hygienic and less work and expense in the long run. I would turn the bed around and have the headboard at the railing as long as you have room for the nightstand. If you don’t you put up a shelf. Since your stairs are slippery “wood” make sure to wear grippy socks!
I think a tension rod and curtain on the alcove in loft would look good, also maybe bum shuffle down the stairs to avoid clumsy falling 😂😅 love your vlog absolutely loving how you come across now! More laid back! Ive been subed along time and i am really loving this new content!
Glad you put the bed in the loft. Consider centering it on that opening (since it's storage that isn't accessed frequently) and hanging a curtain maybe macramé or beads in the opening. It will pull you away from the wall and give you more breathing space, away from the corner. Might have room for a matching bedside table...super cute choice there!!
You get all that same fluff with carpeted floors too, you just don't see/notice it! 😂 I have two husky mixes so I get literal tumbleweeds of fluff on my wood floors.
I would add wallpaper to that little nook, have the bed centered to it and the headboard covering the luggage... and maybe add shelving for books, turning it into a tiny library over your bed
Here’s an idea for the bedroom loft - Swap the headboard over with the footboard (place a rug or piece of material over the railing upstairs so that you are closed off for sleeping and facing the hole in the loft wall, get a plain white or patterned curtain (pink no doubt) - to cover it over and make it more accessible from the foot of the bed, or a low paper screen and use it for a small chest of drawers or make a low hanging rail for trousers and shirts etc. Oh and buy a nice quiet fan 🤷♀️. The biggest eyesore in that apartment is the wardrobe, if you are going to use it as a room divider, you could get a paper or rattan screen to make it more like a piece of furniture with a door maybe? All in all, it’s looking more like a home now whatever else you do, it’s now good for sleeping, entertaining, lounging watching movies, working at the desk, cooking or eating dinner with friends 👍👍💐
A nice large tapestry (like slightly heavier than a curtain) would be like artwork behind your bed and serve to cover the storage space as well as act as an anchor that you could like place fairy lights around.. that upstairs is small yes but the COSY VIBE potential is strong!
Good idea to put the bed upstairs but for safety reason's please consider putting rubber treads on the stairs to stop any slipping. I'm sure they must has a stick on version. Even if you have to tape them on. Better safe than sorry. Love how brave you are. Glad you're making friends and having fun.
Looking good, Hermione! I'm so glad you moved the bed upstairs. In such a small apartment, not to use the loft for sleeping would kind of be a waste of space. 😊I don't know how you would have fit in your table and desk with your bed downstairs. Your home is coming along and feeling quite cozy now. ♥
When you have carpets, the fibres grab on to the dust and fluff. Without that, the dust has no where to go. That’s what I find with my hard surface floors too. So maddening
I cannot tell you how obsessed I have become of your videos! I literally just found your channel yesterday by accident and I spent the whole evening watching your videos moving to Korea and making this new apartment your home, I have loved so much watching the process from the beginning! I love home decor and organizing and all that and so your videos literally make me so happy and relaxed, thank you! ❤
What about putting a clothes rail or tall chest of drawers in the cubby upstairs. Maybe even a few shelves if you're allowed🤔. I like where the bed is, looks so cozy! Such a cute little apartment 😁
Perhaps a curtain or embroidered design to cover the closet and put bed on those felt pads to allow bed to slide when you need access for the storage behind it
Oh, I'm so glad you had some pieces of furniture arrive! It makes life so much easier. As for that hole in the wall upstairs, is there any way you can add temporary shelving into it? That would add so much storage for clothing, sheets, etc. Also, there is a little space under the bottom step..........I would get a basket that perfectly fit that space for storage. Maybe for shoes you aren't wearing, or storing your cold weather accessories, or? Every little bit helps in a studio apartment! Also, having your sofa with the back facing the door is not very welcoming. I know that will change as you get more furniture and things get moved around.........maybe get another one to form an L shape in that corner to offer more seating when money isn't so tight? At any rate, love the desk and table, so glad it's working for you :) Glad your ankle is feeling better!
You could put the head board against the railing!! And you can also put a colorful curtain and rod to cover the cubby hole!! Maybe put twinkle lights up there!
Your new place is really starting to come together and show off your personality!! I'd consider flipping your bed so the headboard is against the open-side of the loft wall then, you'll have full access to your nook closet.
i would keep the bed in the loft but change the bed frame to something without a head board. if you want to sit and read in bed u can still lean against the wall behind you. w/o the head board the little storage area is much more acessible. in the living room area i would definitely put the coach against the wall, so you have the view out the window in front of you. i love your style and i am always excited to see your videos 😘🥰
Your home is turning out lovely. Have you thought about putting a tension rod in the nook upstairs for extra hanging space. I know it would be a pain, but you could hang your off season clothes in there. 💗
Glad you listened to US. Makes a better use of the Space. If you move the head of the bed where you have the feet now maybe you can use the little Space for storage easily in the loft
When I was living in Korea, I bought a floor fan to work with the air conditioner. That might make it cooler in the loft. Not crazy about your bed headboard. It seems to stick out like a sore thumb. Might you be able to get a platform style box and put your mattress on top of it? Anyhow, you did a good job overall.
Great news you have some furniture at last! I was wondering if the head of your bed could be put at the railing, hopefully giving you some more room at the foot end for the cupboard space thing? I'm sure you will work it all out so you are happy with the configuration in time. Be fun finding out. I like the idea of a curtain across the cupboard space. Well done, everything is coming together 🥰
I would move the couch back a little, so the area looks a bit more open, especially if you are planning to have a console along the wall and also allow for a small coffee table at some stage.
What about some fabric / curtain across the wall behind the bed. It would be like a big colorful piece of art. Also would the containers you first had for the night table fit in the cubby ( originally foe the microwave ) that would be a nice way to store stuff and good look to the eye.
You could put a curtain from wall to wall in the loft and your bed and night stand would not look off center as the cubby entrance would be completely hidden.
I understand you about the stairs! I broke my ankle when I tripped in a staircase like 4 years ago. After that I've almost had like a phobia of stairs it's better now but I was terrified the first year and avoided them. Give it some time and maybe get som grippy socks to wear at home :)
So happy you moved your bed into the loft :) I'd paint the trim around that opening behind the bed to match the wall, the curtain is a great idea :) Your place is looking so cute :)
It's looking so homely now, I can't wait to see it all completed. I'm sure you can get some sort of fan for the loft for when I starts to get hot but being a dark space I'm wondering if it will be the coolest place in the apartment
Put a curtain the whole length of the wall behind the bed it will be a way to add colour as well as hiding the cubby hole. You could also put LED lights around the ceiling to add glam it would be a lovely little sleeping den. And as I suggested get one of those quiet A/C units for when it’s hot. Your living area is so such better less cluttered
"I'm trying to cut back on Coke Zero, it's not going too well - life has lost all meaning"! That was the best & I totally get it - I had Diet Coke running through my veins, and stopped drinking it over 2 years ago..
love your videos! tip for future couch stains: take the top of a pot, a towel with warm water and cleaner, wrap the towel around the pot top and use to scrub! (hack is ok tiktok) 😅
Hermione you're so beautiful and looking really happy in Seoul! btw I have the exactly same couch in same colour and fabric, and it's SO comfy for sleeping that you shouldn't worry too much about the upstairs bedroom, it's better to keep your bed there separated from living area! Once the projector is in place I predict LOTS of couch napping / sleeping! Your videos are amazing, can't wait for the next one! xxx
What if you used random cubby as a wardrobe with tension rods or hanging chain with a rod. Have the bed head the other way round. Might be better for when it gets hotter? Also then the actual wardrobe will be storage next to your home office ? Lol other people have already suggested the bed head switch....(I just read the comments) ....I concur with them😊 😊😊
Could you find a cool piece of fabric (Korean? Print? Vintage?) and hang it on a tension rod covering the entire wall at the head of the bed? That would cover the void of the closet
I like the loft. You could do a little fabric curtain to block off the storage space (mostly for aesthetics) and then you can jazz it up by picking a fabric of your choosing to style it. And in terms of the stairs, you can slide down them on your butt! I am clumsy too, so believe me when i say I have slide down many staircases on my tush.
So I hadn't been getting notified of your videos. I think it's fixed now but I just binged the entire Korea move vlogs and I'm now caught up! I'm so happy for you Hermione, I love the videos so far, and I'm so excited to see how things unfold in this new adventure!
Love the desk you picked! And if you're getting sick of it standing in front of the window you could still put it behind your couch kind of like a console table :) I'm excited to see what you're up to with the loft. When you got the place I thought that it could be a good spot for sleeping but I also could totally understand the drawbacks as you showed it more detailed. Maybe finding another bedframe that's lower to the ground could be a good thing, then your matress isn't on the ground and you have more headspace. In that case you'd loose the storage underneath but you could put a shelve in the cubby behind the bed to make better use of the space, and since you've put the bed upstairs you've gained a lot of space downstairs anyway. Whatever you decide to do I'm sure you'll find a solution that works best for you and makes you happy! :)
Gettng new furniture makea all of us so happy. I believe you should hang 2 curtains behind your headboard wal to wall and in this way you create a faux accent wall and of course easily accessible when needed. I love it so far. Keep going. You are living the best of life right now and try to go out more often and try to mingle with the locals more often and try to speak their language. Create friends and memories girl. 👏👏👏❤❤
Crazy suggestion, what if you turned your sofa to br along the wall and used the shades as a projector screen? Then you wouldn't have to leave a big bare wall space for it and you can have a nice view when you aren't using it and the shades are down?
Oh so pretty 🎉 it's all coming together so well, I was going to comment that the edges of your stairs would make a lovely home for small potted plants! But maybe not 😅
Your hardwood floors get so fluffy because with carpet everywhere you can't see how dirty the floor actually is because the fluff hides in the carpet :D
Put a curtain or room divider in front of the hole and put the bed in the middle of the room with your bedside table on the left side under the lower side
Awesome table choice, wasn't sure at 1st but the glass top is perfect idea for your space size...also I'd suggest a tiny fan upstairs and/ or a "chillow" (cooling pillow), it definitely makes it easier to fall asleep in warm spaces. I think you've made it look very cozy how you set it up.
What a terrific layout for the space! So glad you moved the bed up 😌 if you need inspiration to decorate tiny spaces, alexandra gater does a great job at that while keeping it airy. I would add a cabinet on the back of the couch though that way the back doesnt feel as exposed as it is as well as you dont need that big of a tv set up ☺️ i also would add a comfy big chair if you havent already. So exited how you make this space your home with your sparkly personality ✨️ 💖
Dust on hardwood floors. It’s annoying, but when I realised , that on carpet floors all the dust is covered in those carpets, I’m fine with my visible dust. Best buy was a foam broom. Since I have it I use my vacuum very seldom, because the broom takes all the dust without bringing anything in the air or leaving leftovers on the floor. I can clean it under water and it lasts for years.
If you can add a curtain rod along the whole back wall of the bed with curtains it will make it cosy and make it less noticeable that there a little closet back there
The good thing about the bed being upstairs in the loft is that you only go up to sleep, and then after waking up and going down, you only go up again at night. This ends up forcing you to stay active and productive during the day. I also prefer my sleeping place to be separate from my working/cooking/eating/watching tv place.
It's coming along nicely Hermione. As for the loft possibly being stuffy, you may have already ordered an oscillating fan, but if you haven't, do. It will help move around the air, and you won't feel so claustrophobic. Maybe even a super small humidifier can fit in the loft and help with stagnant air?. I believe that once you add your touches of style, décor and fairy lights, you will feel it's a lovely little cave and you will come to really enjoy it. But if it becomes too scary or you fear a risk of falling on those stairs, move the bed back to the main floor and ignore peer pressure. It's your home, and we don't want you to get injured.
Fun vlog.. your appartment is starting to look very homely🙂. I love water🧊..but not sparkling. But if I have sparkling water, I add frozen raspberries🍓, fresh mint🍃 leaves, lime or lemon 🍋 juice. You can prep it as ice-cubes to just throw in drink. Make a vegetable frittata.. I always use up fresh veggies that way and it is lovely with salad or on bread etc.
You can put a curtain in the space of the loft you'll have some color and it will look much better instead of having that open space in the back of the bed. Just a suggestion. It's better having that bed upstairs.😊
Love the table by the windows. I’m a people watcher and get so sad when seeing others style their units with the table crammed in a dark corner and they never hang out by the gorgeous windows. For the loft I’d say a tension rod in the closet for off-season clothing and a tapestry along the wall (wider than just the closet space so it’s not so obvious). I’d also put a kitchen island behind the sofa for extra storage, prep space, bar area or to put your drinks when on the sofa in lieu of a coffee table.
I love that metal bedside table! Another vote for a curtain right across the back of the loft. In a darker colour , to go with the sleeping in the dark theme of the loft. It’s looking like home…..🏡 Also another vote for grippy socks, or fitted slippers to go up and down stairs. Always …..always….use the railing. We don’t want any more injuries!
Had a thought. The odd cupboard thing at the end would bother me. I'm wondering if you could put a curtain with a tension pole across the back could add some colour and prevent an asymmetric look?
I also get a ton of dust and fluff in my apartment but it’s cause the filters in my apartment are not great, they need constant changing. Also my air con is very old and not efficient. I also live in a studio apartment so you tend to notice these things when you don’t have a lot of space lol I think having a hepa filter helps some but yeah I think it’s mostly just keeping up with the dusting and vacuuming.
"Who knew furniture arriving would make me so happy?" 😂😂 All of us, Hermione. Everybody. Every single body knew it would make you happy! And when you're happy, we're happy! 😊
Hahahaha you all know me too well 🤣💖 but that made my day!
You sad lot. Get a life
Have you considered hanging a curtain across the whole back wall in your loft? It would hide the closet, but still be accessible, and just look even and decorative.
Funnily enough I mention something like that in my next video 🤣 I'll post that one later this week!
Yes! Like a second faux headboard. Came here to see if anyone else had the same great thought!
Was thinking about suggesting the same! Would look so much 'cleaner' and more calming too :) It's probably quite easy to do so too, with those adjustable curtain rods one can get for showers etc!
Yeah something with a light colour or something would look nice and make the room feel more cosy too 😊
Just posted this before i read the comments!
I would put a slim console table right behind your sofa. This will give you extra storage and also a ‘shelf’ to add another lamp and decoration etc ❤️
I would turn the bed the other direction! And have the headboard facing that railing. That way the foot of the bed is at the closet and it’s more access. I think having the headboard the other way would open the space more too. I’m excited to see what else you do with the space!
Ooh that’s interesting! If there’s room for the side table on the far side of the bed opposite the stairs side it could make getting into bed so easy
I wondered if this might be better too, as could then put something behind the headboard and railing to close off the area a bit as well.

I’m definitely team bed in the loft!! Separating my bedroom space from my living room space has been huge for me.

Upstairs 'closet' wall could have a curtain across the entire wall up to the ceiling to make it look more finished. Love your aesthetic! ♥

Hardwood floors are best cleaned every day.
The "fluff" comes from all the fabrics in the room (plus hair etc.).

Add a slice of lemon or lime or a few raspberries to your sparkling water. Really perks it up in my opinion.
I would move the couch back a little, so the area looks a bit more open, especially if you are planning to have a console along the wall and also allow for a small coffee table at some stage.
ok but 2 of my favorite creators from 2 different parts of the world are friends? omg!!!!
Glad you put your bed in the loft gives you more room downstairs
What about some fabric / curtain across the wall behind the bed. It would be like a big colorful piece of art. Also would the containers you first had for the night table fit in the cubby ( originally foe the microwave ) that would be a nice way to store stuff and good look to the eye.
You could put a curtain from wall to wall in the loft and your bed and night stand would not look off center as the cubby entrance would be completely hidden.
You could remove the headboard on your bed and leave it just as a day bed centered on that wall with cozy cushions on the back.
you could get anit-slip carpet pads for the stairs if you're worried about falling!!
Girl, I had suuuuuuch a lovely time hanging out and meeting you, can't wait for our drag race marathon hehe 💕
You could put a pretty wall hanging or curtain over the space behind your bed!
It's reallly coming together , and you are making it really yours with the Hermione touch 🥰💐🪷💗✝
Could you flip the bed where the headboard is against stair railing to make better use of closet?
Agree with that totally.
Things are definitely taking shape wonderfully. You are maximising your limited space in a unique and lovely way. I'm enjoying watching your journey.

The cherry trees are gorgeous!💕🌸💮🌸
You should get a little linen curtain to cover the storage bit in the loft 😊
Can't wait to see the evolution of your space, it's exciting living vicariously through you 😂🤎
Can't wait to see what else you'll come up with. Always brilliant ideas. Oh I know too well the ankle twinge 😰. After two years I'm still scared.
But maybe not 😅
My poor plants would go flying when I stomp down the stairs 🤣 hahaha 💕
Your hardwood floors get so fluffy because with carpet everywhere you can't see how dirty the floor actually is because the fluff hides in the carpet :D
Your so PRECIOUS “ life has lost all meaning”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it looks great
Looking lovely! I like the layout. I agree with putting a curtain upstairs to block the cubby.
Put a curtain or room divider in front of the hole and put the bed in the middle of the room with your bedside table on the left side under the lower side
You should buy one of those multiple outlets so you can plug up a lot of things!💓

And you got a gorgeous new pot for your giant plant, it looks great. Your place is coming along great
Dust on hardwood floors.

Following with interest!! Your spaces are looking super cute so far 😊

You can put a curtain in the space of the loft you'll have some color and it will look much better instead of having that open space in the back of the bed. Just a suggestion. It's better having that bed upstairs.😊
I would make like a currtain panel behind the bed, easy solution and you could still use the storage behind 🤞
It is looking great! A pretty curtain upstairs would be good. Maybe even one that goes that whole side of the wall? Maybe a pretty pink?
I love that metal bedside table!
Another vote for a curtain right across the back of the loft.
In a darker colour , to go with the sleeping in the dark theme of the loft.
It’s looking like home…..🏡
Also another vote for grippy socks, or fitted slippers to go up and down stairs.
Always …..always….use the railing.
We don’t want any more injuries!
I think is better, downstairs looks crowded. Awesome. best decision ever.
Had a thought. The odd cupboard thing at the end would bother me. I'm wondering if you could put a curtain with a tension pole across the back could add some colour and prevent an asymmetric look?
It’s coming along nicely!!
In the loft you can do a lighted curtain to span the width of the room to hide the cubby space & still have some ambiance 😊
