Maya Shankar ON: How to Embrace Change Gracefully & Find Purpose in Difficult Times
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 тра 2024
- Maya Shankar sits down with Jay Shetty to talk about taking lessons from other people’s stories. While it is easy to inspire people to change when you have the tools and right environment to inspire them, it’s difficult to change a person’s mind. This is because our mind sticks to our own reality, it believes the circumstances that we are in, and it associates with the community that we belong to.
Maya is currently the Senior Director of Behavioral Economics at Google and is the Creator, Host, and Executive Producer of “A Slight Change of Plans”, a podcast with Pushkin Industries. Maya previously served as a Senior Advisor in the Obama White House, where she founded and served as Chair of the White House's Behavioral Science Team. In 2016, she served as the first Behavioral Science Advisor to the United Nations under Ban Ki-moon.

I love that "Power of first starts. You don’t have to wait for a major milestone". And that is so true. Everyone of us can begin to make changes starting today. It may start slow at first but keep at it. Because although slowly but consistently when look back, you'll see how much progress you've made. I'm rooting for you ❤
You're adorable

This changed my life.
Ms. Maya is a BADDIE!! Go sis!🌷🌸🌹🌺🌻😘 pure brilliance. Thanks for all you do WOW!
Here are my 10 extra tips to INCREASE your daily manifestations that I’ve learned over the years..👇🏾
1. Practice gratitude every morning. When you wake up, list everything that you are grateful for and feel that gratitude in your core. Feel free to write things down in a journal so it is easy for you to remember.
2. Replace your negative thoughts with positive ones. Every time you feel a negative thought coming on, make a positive spin on it right away.
3. Take ownership for things that happen in your life. It's easy to blame others however you will feel much better when you realize that most issues stem from us.
4. ALWAYS believe that good things are about to happen. By being open to new possibilities you are inviting abundance into your life.
5. Remember that like attracts like so you get back whatever you put out, whether it is good or bad. So do good AND received good.
6. Meditate for five minutes a day. During this time focus on how you want your life to be; but place your focus on how you feel AND feel that feeling as if you have already accomplished those goals.
7. Step outside of your comfort zone. Stop playing it safe and make that decision to finally go for your dreams.
8. Focus on activities that make you feel truly happy. When you are truly happy you have the best vibrational frequency to manifest your desires.
9. Avoid the naysayers and surround yourself with people who only lift you higher. Downers will be downers, don't let them drag you into their misery.
10. Don't be afraid to dream and know that you are always supported by the universe.
Hope this helps!

Wow. Currently trying to rack my brain to respond to this episode with something profound or pinpoint my most favorite part and I just can’t. I’m pretty speechless. I just know that this episode has unlocked/ confirmed something in me, and I’m so appreciative and thankful that you choose to share these conversations with the rest of us. Thank you!
great to see her speak, she shared about 90% of the same points and stories she made on Dax Shepherd's podcast. hope to see a podcast where she shares more unique insights :)
Jay Shetty is the alliteration master!
A great interview and interviewer! I learned too much. Thanks Jay
Beautiful ideas from a behavioural economist -- and loved the spontaneous heart shares.
U r the captain of your life...I do believe that.
Thanks Jay.
Hey YOU, incredible person reading this...The truth is you are confident and good enough already with who you are, where you are at and what you have right now to have the success you want in life. Don't let others define what “success” is for you. Get up, learn that skill and go after it! I believe in you so much! Have an awesome day! - Love, Nat ❤️
Thank you Nat for your beautiful and kind words! Stay encouraged and radiating love💞
Cancer is such a terrible illness and it's utterly heartbreaking seeing a loved one go through it, not being able to magically take away their pain. Seeing them smile tho, and that peaceful bliss Jay spoke about in this vid and what Maya mentioned about Scott is just inspiring, it truly is. I pray no one ever has to go through any such life threatening illness alone, and that peace is found for both the patients and their loved ones
Jay Shetty you're my inspiration. Love your channel ❤️❤️
always feel amazing to listen to you jay and today it was just like double Dhamaka....
we can learn so much through the stories of others! I have worked retail for years for that reason, I simply love people, learning about them, hearing their story, learning from them and serving them in whatever way I can!
great podcast,
Maya you are so beautiful and smart

Now you are a complete human being living a fuller life....Thanks for being a shining example for the younger generation sir👌
Idk why but you bring out so much emotion in me you must be an angel 😅
Great one
Loved it
"Acceptance of certain parts of my personality that I wished were different and just need to be okay with..." ~ Maya Shankar
Amazing hearing that from someone who comes across as so secure and talented. Just goes to show we're all just simply humans with many flaws/insecurities and that we need to accept that with grace. Thank you for sharing this Maya and Jay! Much love, peace and good health to all
"It's a massive part of who I am, but it's not all of me." Well said.
What a beautiful person! I love her warmth and energy and such a go-getter! I’ve got some many great pearls of wisdom from this!
I’m now realizing that change is a part of life and most importantly, growth. And we are here as souls in human bodies to learn to embrace change because that’s the only thing that’s constant❤️ can’t wait to dive into this episode!
Loved both of you!

Referree Vision...Golden Word! Word's of a True Empath.
No, not all of them have it. Some of us, born with The Imprint. Empath isn't the same of empathetic, not even equal to empathy. Empath is an imprinted language not everyone can speak. It's of places where we've never been, been we can describe it without seeing it. (I have a Japanese experience) Stood in shoes we've never walked. (I can not watch the news, and avoid Facebook...its a damage report!) We experienced pain, we've never. been through. To be an Empath, and and extrovert....it's a superpower of it's own. If it were I, Next day, I would be DRAINED in depleted!
That was good :)
14:51-14:55 eating school at lunch lol
She's beautiful energy
Where do I meet a girl like Maya Shankar? I'm intellectually in love with a girl like this 🤭
If you can, please include subtitles..
💞
Is it safe to say that Behavior Economics has a lot of similarities with Organizational Psychology?
Hi Jay
Thank you for this beautiful day I love it. Maya is really cute. All this ladies here are so cute. Hahaha I use cute because I am just attracted to beautiful things. Her energy is positive and attracting. It pulls me towards her.
Hi Maya
Listen... I am new to podcast and feeling really old 🤣🤣 asking this (only 31)... how do I comment and rate his podcast on Spotify. I hear him talk about leaving reviews but I can't figure it out 🤣
The historical association of masks… wow. Yes this is shaping perspectives in a possibly threatening way.
Sustained behavior change, great study I’ve never thought of. Maybe a nerve connection? But where. Wow. Maybe research studies could start with enclosed, imprisoned, hermitted people. They may have solid routines to observe.
Mmm calculated decisions vs organic decisions. Good point Jay.
Please please please can you interview Stephen Curry
I have a compelling story about Putting Love over Hate #vptlecc
Please pray for me I’m losing my faith! Recently I was fired for not getting the vaccine I was worried about side effects. I have lupus and been struggling for years with all my meds, aches and pains. I’m a single mother with two autistic boys now with no income. We are running low on food and daily necessities. I feel so alone, and embarrassed.
I prayed. Times heals everything. Have a faith in god. God bless you
You should be okay to take the vaccine. Its not as scary as you think it is to be vaccinated. All the correct knowledge is out there about this vaccine and you should be okay. We all have choices of course but I would consider to just take it since you also have an autoimmune disease and keep thriving especially if you need the money. Keep practicing yoga, daily rituals for yourself too as that can do a lot for the body along with medication. Praying for you as that is hard having autistic children too.
this comment is for my ex who loves you.
There is nothing exciting about being a new divorcee, and living in my car.
