There can be few explanations, one as you mentioned stock handbrake either through age and use of parts or bad engineering, cannot lock wheels. Another is increase chance to break drivetrains components, because of shocks. Yet from another side, i don’t see it as proper drive, because sure i can add hydro brake, and it only will be easier to control car, but my skill will not improve doing only hard axle lock, but by balancing weight of a car to slide on top of it’s max speed in corners.
I've noticed you don't use the handbrake, in my RX8 it doesn't quite lock up the wheels, is this the reason you don't use it?
