I’m all for reusing parts on a budget build, but you couldn’t have at least hit that hub with a wire wheel and a bit of paint before putting it back on with other shiny parts?
The slots in rotors aren't for "clearing debris", they're to allow expanding gas to escape. 🤦♂️ In mud conditions we'd actually put solid rotors on the MX bikes to keep "debris" from having anywhere to stick.
I swear they must send these people through the same acting school or something. They all talk the same and sound identical to other hosts on powernation.
It's funny to watch episodes like this now that I'm an adult because it's only now that you realize that ALL of these shows are nothing more than an advertisement showcasing SO many different brands and tools.
this show started out pretty rough as this episode (and entire build) shows but i really have grown to love these guys and all the cool shit they've built
Hey audience we need to pay for this stuff so we are going to do a commercial for Matco. Their stuff is super expensive and most of you can't afford it but hey it pays the bills.
I would much rather they keep the army truck and build a cool overland camper. That was a clean well maintained truck they cut up. Why not just buy an old square body frame.
Why not use tubing along the frame rails, with a few fins. Using the rubber hose in small sections before the radiator? I’m think Rick crawling and debris can degrade the hose. Or even braided covers on the hoses. The other issue is rust from the type of metal used. Just curious. I know just enough to keep my Jeep Liberty and finer XJ out of the shop. So done tread on me!
@@paulmallery6719 nothing wrong with hard mounting. You just have to hard mount everything. Not mix and match. Aka the transmission needs to be hard mounted as well
"So I found these 8 lug slotted and dimpled 3GD EBC rotors and Yellow Stuff Series 4000 EBC pads"...instead of us real car guys that assemble cars telling our boys, yeah, I got these aftermarket rotors and pads...they're cross drilled and slotted. They stop the car.
very simple if these idoit hit some thing hard. you wanna lose your radiator or be able to drive away from that accident. plus less mud on the cooler as well.
Here’s my problem, listen to the introduction. Go back and listen. “...they take left for dead rides...”. Well, that inaccurate as they took a ride away from someone who truly wanted it to be an overland camper and combined it with something that literally, was a hot commodity. “When you want to build something different...”. Another inaccuracy. Literally, The PowerNation programming going back in its catalog, I believe it was Ian that had built a wild Willys wagon, and I seem to remember a third Willys when all of this was on SpikeTV. “...mechanical engineer...” I won’t knock anyone’s education. But please, USE IT. Some very simple mathematics and planning would have made that marrying of the two vehicles in this project so, SO much better
Oh so many issues with their work and the show. Is it just me or is this just a mashup of commercials with some weird guys failing at building things that could have been cool. That is if they actually did it right.
I like what your building. I don't like the blatant advertising throughout the entire show, or the way yall talk, sounds like your reading from a terrible script. Just my opinion but it makes it sound super fake.
What type of Metal Drill Bit's are you using and where would I Purchase this type of Metal Drill Bit? I haven't these Bit's before. Thanks for the upload. I enjoyed this Video.
Seems like they're trying to follow roadkill but failing, the script b.s. is way to much also. There's worth in acting/seeing people being normal. We're gear heads, we don't want added drama or over acting.
I want to see the cost of every part that thay where given. Then see if thay call it a budget bild . . All power nation has become is one big advertisement for high priced parts that thay where given
All you people who talk negatively about this show. No one is stealing you to the chair or toilet making you watch this. Grow up. If you don’t like it don’t watch it.
They could have used any 1 ton chassis for this build. They didn't need to destroy the M1010. Also who are they marketing to? If I could afford all the fab tools they're peddling I could just hire people to build my truck.
If u r taking the time to rebuild the engine and almost every thing about thr car. You all should consider cleaning and repainting thr chassis as well. I mean with a rusty chassis all these works done is just a time wasted.
The only thing that would make one of those hideous, fake injector scoops any uglier would be to paint it green and black. Oh wait, you already did that! BARF!! Every time I see one of those things I want to smash it with a sledge hammer.
I don’t want to be too critical but hey, would you really put brand new rotors on that filthy hub. NOBODY DOES THAT! Not if you have any pride in your work that is. I’m not talking new paint, rag wrench it at least for Pete’s sake. This is just the latest thing to make me say, check please, hard fail on this series.
Jensen Interceptor damn you’re right! I just have a particular distaste for Jeremy because he replaced Ian on Extreme Off Road. No one replaces that man
Worst show period on this channel.... mainly cause of this build,... why not start with the willys frame or something that isn’t rare and then they literally just used nothing but the frame.
I’m all for reusing parts on a budget build, but you couldn’t have at least hit that hub with a wire wheel and a bit of paint before putting it back on with other shiny parts?
I was thinking the same thing!

Can't believe they didn't clean up those rear brake assembly drums and stuff before they put the new stuff on
I swear they must send these people through the same acting school or something. They all talk the same and sound identical to other hosts on powernation.

Same was true with the magazines back in the day.

@@pranays Do you have a point or are you just trolling? Because my comment pointed that fact out already.
I would much rather they keep the army truck and build a cool overland camper. That was a clean well maintained truck they cut up. Why not just buy an old square body frame.
Really wish they would have made an overlander camper with the old ambulance
I personally like how "Scripted" these guys are
really reminds me of older car shows like Overhaulin and Pimp my Ride
It's kinda nostalgic for me
They also should have built a NA motor if they were only after 6-700hp! Even a mud puddle rig doesn’t need the belt/heat issues of there sc choice

Engine plate welding mounts looks stupid should cut plates to slid down and put plates inside fram rails then welded plates together...
Multi-million dollar garage. Must be nice
Damn those motor mounts look too highschool. Simpletonweaksauce.
Agree. They look hideous.
The weld quality is crap
Vibration city. No rubber mounts. Goofs
@@paulmallery6719 nothing wrong with hard mounting. You just have to hard mount everything. Not mix and match. Aka the transmission needs to be hard mounted as well

Hey keyboard technician?
well, not even a little bit of urethane on these engine mounts... wild....

Why would ya put the radiator and trans cooler inside the back of the truck??
very simple if these idoit hit some thing hard. you wanna lose your radiator or be able to drive away from that accident. plus less mud on the cooler as well.
Why not ?
ive seen drag racers do that to free up engine bay space but idk why they did that here
Here’s my problem, listen to the introduction. Go back and listen.

Stacey David did the wicked willys
Gregory Scott THANK YOU. I knew it was way back when. It was on TRUCKS, too.
you solid mounted the engine, did you also solid mount the transmission? I missed it.
Going to be adding a little vibration using a motor plate...
This thing is bad ass !
That impact will not remove the spring or shakle bolts lol
Is it me or does it look like Jeremy is dancing when he talks in front of the camera.
2:00 not surprising at all
holy shit a cherry picker with large wheels.. bet that rolls nice

Agreed... I think they should've restored the original truck and built that 6.2 diesel into something because there are still a few of those out there
I hope you guys are going to sandblast the whole chassis and body
I mean it’s a mud truck not a show truck
If you wanna prevent even more rust iets gonna neef sandblasting and paint
Yeah did carcass that or otter guys from powernation
extend the air intakes by 8 feet and exhuast as well.
That air impact is the rand timaxx

I would put an outside roll cage....
I'm curious, do any non-Americans watch car videos like this? I imagine mostly Americans being into this type of stuff
aussie here, just as much petrol heads as you guys.
We do, greetings from Russia!
Watching from the UK 👍

Outstanding job guys 👍

Massive leak at the headers
Don't you want the frame tabs BEHIND the front engine plates?
The Willys body is recycled from Season six XOR.
Pffft. The engine has been recycled 300 times now. They use it for content over and over without shame. 😂
Let’s take two 95% complete chassis and butcher them into one subpar build
Exactly

If you forget the hard mount, what kind of “fab” shop/builder wouldn’t build there own?
one that isnt supported by summit racing.

203 t case? Can you say stretched chain? 205’s aren’t that scarce guys. What the hell were you thinking?
I need the old motor you took out of the truck.
Diskbrakes are not the same...
