Just saw this and glad I found it. I am doing my first ducted fan, Freewing F-18 Super 64mm. I am using Align A6B receiver with my A10 Transmitter. I'm waiting on this Gyro to show up before I start setup. The Align uses PPM output, so my understanding is the Align will be a pass through then everything goes through the Gyro. This will be my first time setting up an entire aircraft top to bottom, so I know I'll be back a lot to check things out.

You are correct the receiver just passes the PPM signal to the gyro which does all the mixing. Happy to help if you have any questions. Thanks for watching, have a great day!

You show a radio link gyro also which you refer to as your “Go To” gyro. What makes this mini version perhaps better?

I think if you check the date of the video I used to use the "Byme" gyros before the A3Mini came out. The A3Mini is better for many reasons, you can program it from a PC for both "normal" and "delta" configurations. The degree of gyro gain can be set along with many other parameters. The Byme gyros are fixed function the A3Mini can be setup just the way you want it.

Looks good, neat how the software allows you to choose what modes go to the switch positions, this should do the trick to add crow brakes to my phoenix 2400, byme a prevented me from doing so. thank you :-)

Great video...just adding gyros to my EDF fleet and this one looks awesome for that purpose. In setting up a Master Gain channel on my RM Tx16S, do you just select slider or knob and then set the channel in the Mini and then edit the knob for 0 to 100 on setup?

Hey thanks! I show the gain setup in another video here : ua-cam.com/video/8E3CG9Ih5xA/v-deo.html Have a great day!

Thanks very much for the video. Is there any benefit in connecting the throttle through the gyro? With the A3 Super it look likes the throttle is connected directly to the receiver.

Only a few things I can think of, obviously if you use a Rx with only serial out you will need that connection! Maybe the gyro uses the throttle when in "hover" mode, I have not tested that. Or just to keep the wiring tidy?! Thanks for watching, have a great day!

Hello, thank you... My English is not so good. Can I use this gyro without a receiver?i.e., is there a receiver integrated? And do I have to connect it to the PC or can I also set it via podis

      @1nformatica  2 місяці тому +1

Hi, you need an external receiver either SBUS or PPM. It has to be connected to a PC for setup via a special cable. If you have other questions please ask. Thanks for watching, have a great day!

@1nformatica Ok, thank you very much. Do you know a small receiver incl gyro? Got a tx16s

@@Zstreetfighter18 I don't know of any small receivers with gyros for planes. Watch out because there are several for cars! I use a tiny Happymodel ELRS SBUS Rx : s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DBGwfUD Also if you want a small "plug an play" no programming needed Gyro look at the RadioLink Byme's : s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_AaDrhd

Do I need to purchase an external antenna for this?

The A3 mini is just a gyro. You need to connect a receiver to it like I show in another video : ua-cam.com/video/8E3CG9Ih5xA/v-deo.html Thanks for watching, have a great day!

Very interesting. I have a couple of the BYME-A gyro you mention in the video. I bought them after watching your video about it. I thought this HobbyEagle looked much better in term on the configuration but it falls short in a couple of areas, for me at least.
The configurator looks like it is Windows only. No Linux version, although I can probably get around that one.
It also doesn't support the CRSF protocol so won't work with ExpressLRS receivers. I stopped buying FrSky after all their firmware shenanigans. At least my TBS Crossfire receivers can output SBUS as well as CRSF but I'm moving to ELRS for the cost, range and smaller 2.4GHz antennas over the 900MHz crossfire antennas.
    Love the videos. Thanks.

Interesting comment, thanks. I guess you can use wine for Linux? Have you seen the little CRSF - SBUS converter from Matek? www.mateksys.com/?portfolio=crsf-sbus In the recent firmware update to the A3 Mini they included JETI Duplex EXBus serial protocol so maybe only a matter of time before CRSF, I'll contact them and see if the get back! Thanks for watching, have a great day!

Really interesting little device indeed, man! Great review! 😃
It's not just a receiver, it's a complete flight controller!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Thanks Mario! Just to be clear it is only a gyro not a receiver, you can use it with pretty much any receiver protocol like PPM, SBUS etc. Thanks for watching, have a great day!
