Got the title in my name but had to get ahold of original owner and have him fill out some forms for me. I paid him $50 to do it. But a pain. I’m just glad his information was on the title.
I've been in the bike world for a long time and I only buy non running bikes for low parts value, same with no title bikes. I cannot afford to pay any more than 500 ish for a bike like Manhattan as I know I could put 2500 into a rebuild and I may never get a title , so it's worth the price of a few parts I could use like wheels and a good tank.
Yeah I’m all for fixing bikes but at a price point like you said. To believe this kid had the bike up for sale for $7,000 in this condition is ridiculous. A buddy messaged him while he had the bike and offered him $6,200 and he said no, I’m firm on $7,000. People are crazy.
Maybe try a bonded title? I did an XR650R like this in WY. Still a pain and needs a police vin check, appraisal, but finally I got it.
