Gen'Dai aren't technically immortal, just very difficult to kill. You either need to completely destroy the body or destroy the brain (I believe the codex in this game also mentions "severing core nerves"), since they can't regenerate that. The only reason Rayvis died is because he wanted a warrior's death, so he *allowed* Cal to sever his "core nerves".
That being said it would have been cool to disintegrate him in the firing chamber that we passed through to get to him. Seems super-lasery enough.
I think they wanted to give Rayvis an honourable warrior’s death since they don’t actually make him out to be evil and this also does leave them open to bringing him back if they want as they could say Cal botched it
If you’re wondering how he died he was a regular Gendai unlike that bounty hunter one, that fought Obi-Wan Kenobi he was modified to make him almost Immortal.
Except he isn’t dead
All are nearly immortal the cybernetics just help
That helps so much i thought the game was just un-realistic
Well, as the Highlander series had taught us, even an immortal dies when you cut off their head. Works for Gendai as well I guess.
@@elfinkenshi6437 well........ durge can still regenerate itself even blown up into million pieces.... if we still consider 2003 clone wars as canon
that part with the timed laser reminds me of when you have to run through the Deathstar in the force unleashed.
I like some of the similarities between Dagan and Anakin like obsession, lose right arm and the dark side, really interesting character
One of the first things I noticed about Dagan was that his angry voice sounds a lot like Anakin's
@@darthfalafel6581so I'm not the only one that tough so
I absolutely LOVE Respawn's morally gray writing. Rayvis, in this logic, isn't really evil? He's been twisted by gruesome cruelty via the Jedi Order...yet still loyal and honorable
tbh the plot we get and the characters we will see again is insane
The plot was my least favorite part of this game
@@zerg6001 WHAT wdym i’m not gonne tell what the plot is cause i don’t want to spoiler but it was something i would have come up with in 100 years and the part that follower after the plot was pretty cool too
@@zerg6001 lame
@@zerg6001 the plot was the best part about the game
@@zerg6001🤡 - this u?
A tip for Rayvis: if you die you see a yellow beam going up, when you walk into it, your health goes to the max. What you do is when you're low you go into that and you get max health! boom
Another tip for Rayvis: Use crossguard stance its really good for him
I’ve realized I think single and crossguard are best for bosses and I’m being stubborn and keeping dual because it’s cool and for the challenge and this man Reavis is beating my cheeks
@@daveyjoneslocker4703i played on gm and found double to be quite reliable for bosses especially rayvis. i did have my upgrades for it almost maxed out so that may have helped but it worked well.
duel wield is actually better imo since you can parry/dodge/block before your attack animations finish, so you have more flexibility with parrys
I beat him first try on Jedi knight using the crossguard stance.
@@Ex0dus24 Yeah double is nice because you get 2 hits with one strike, I personally prefer crossguard for bosses because of the mass damage output. The cooldown of the hits doesn't really matter if you parry the enemy so it's really nice.
On grandmaster on his second phase rayvis constantly regenerates his health
WHAT. Jesus Christ
Malenia glitched ... Lol 😂
That's only a Grandmaster thing?!?! This boss fight is so painful, I've been going at it for like 2 hours, and I haven't brought his second phase down past half
@@earthbloodelf5289 toke me like 5 hours
Ohhh that explains so much 😅
Ravis fight on Grandmaster almost broke me. I can now no damage his first phase lol
His missile attack sucks
@@friccle_ IKR and it took me so long to notice the circles on the ground that tell me where they land cause I was so focused on him. Eventually tho I just kinda knew where they land so I could avoid them without looking. this is the effect of doing the fight 30 or so times
The part with the giant laser reminds me of Star wars the force unleashed when you are in the firing chamber of the death star laser
Rayvis is definitely the skill check boss of this game. Rayvis is also by far the most fun boss in the game for me. Is there a connection? Maybe...
But yeah, Rayvis also further convinces me that all the bosses were designed around single blade. But I'd maybe go as far as to say you should only fight Rayvis with Crossguard. It's probably the most effective stance against him. Reading the comments, other people seem to agree.
This was a great part of your "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" walkthrough, Andrew. Just like with your face-off against the Spawn of Oggdo, I laughed as you struggled during your face-off against Rayvis.
Rayvis was the most fun boss in the game for me, parrying him with dual sabers is satisfying as hell
(I played on Jedi knight)
Pro tip if you didn't know already, before you enter combat you can shoot droids you're able to hack with BD's electro shot to hack them. Enjoying your playthrough!
10:53 I needed the laugh I got from this part, thank you 🤣👏
Tip for Rayvis: dodge and parry. Andrew has difficulty prioritizing staying out of the line of fire, and that caused him to have a harder time beating him. If you parry, dodge, and time your stims, you can beat him relatively easy. It took me around 3-4 tries on Jedi Knight, and I’m not an incredibly skilled gamer
5:41 “don’t shoot the blade” wow that battle droid is actually smart, lol
I haven't played video games in years so watching this playthrough is my way of experiencing the game
"there's no time" ...if only you had a super ability to slow down time by clicking both the thumbsticks lol. Love the videos, this game is amazing!
I didn't die once on The Rayvis Boss Fight, But to be Fair I did Upgrade My Heath a lot and I had more Stims. Also I Love How Rayvis isn't really a Villain. I Mean Sure, He's Aligned with Dagen which makes Him Cal's Enemy, But I Like that He's an Honorable and Loyal Warrior. I Love This Walkthrough Series So Much!!! I LOVE THIS GAME SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! Jedi Fallen Order was Great, But This Game is on Another Level!!! Cal Kestis is One of My Favorite Jedi Ever and One of My Favorite Characters In All Of Star Wars and I Just Love These Games So Much!!!
Cal looks like he’s about to come down from a mountain with the 10 commandments.
"Can you imagine this on grandmaster"
Yes, Yes I can, it broke me
Yea same rayvis absolutely destroyed me and bent me over 😂
@@tastyeagle7114 he is still bending me over got second stage to 3/4 done and then boom he hit me with the 5 piece combo
5:12 if you want jedi robes, you can find them on the sand planet of which I cannot remember the name
This section reminded me of the Death Star level in The Force Unleashed.
Amazing video again Andrew keep up the good work and can't wait for more episodes
I played (and finished) the entire game in Jedi Grandmaster difficulty and I will say I was so close to going down to master just to beat Rayvis. I gave myself 5 more tries until I would and beat him on my 4th. To anyone reading this, don’t give up!
2:17 Dude I feel the same way I played on Jedi padawan was a little hard too and I made my way up to knight when I felt like I got too good for padawan, also I found blaster stance to be op and it’s lowkey fun to use
that samurai-like execution was just *chefs kiss*
Beat Rayvis on Grandmaster, absolutely wild fight. Definitely the hardest boss fight I've experienced from either game so far. I used dual sabers as I liked the option to cancel my attacks at any given time. Took me about an hour and a half to win.
Didn't take me as long, but I've found a charged force push interrupts his attacks. Parrying with a crossguard and getting 2 hits in was my main strategy. Also I didn't count my tries because I would mess up early and get clapped on a f#*%ed parry.
P.S his rocket attack in particular is stopped by a charged push.
I wish it took me that long, I still haven't beaten him, but I'm well over an hour and a half in, given I didn't try the duel lightsabers for a while
I thought I was bad at this game while playing on Jedi Grand Master. All of my confidence has returned after watching you struggle on Padawan difficulty. Thanks!
The lazer reminded me of the end mission of force unleashed 1
Btw when you die to a boss, when you pick up your experience it’s just like hitting a free stim! Also it slows everything alittle and gives yourself a bit of time to adjust. Hope it helps someone
picking up experience isn't just a free stim (which generally only seem to heal about half your max HP) it's a full HP restore
@@Eclipsed_Embers thank you for correcting that lol
Yeah, I always save my experience for when I'm getting low on health and force
I just played this boss fight on Jedi knight and it went a lot smoother than Spawn of Oggdo or the bosses in the P’ caverns on Koboh. Used cross guard and honestly, stance is really great dealing a lot of damage, especially when his guard is down
I missed that you could hold down that balloon grapple, it would’ve been so much easier 😂
Rayvis' death was exactly like ninth sister
I actually beat the Rayvis boss on Jedi Knight by keeping my distance and doing heavy attacks with the cross guard a once in a while. Took forever though
I still haven’t beat him and I have dual and double equipped. I have a feeling single and crossguard would be better.
Just beat this boss on grandmaster and oooh boi it was crazy hard. Unfortunately Ravis’s model glitched out during the cutscenes so I posted the video.
You know andrews problems would just be solved if he picked the double bladed stance to better block blaster bolts
Rayvis is much easier with the dual weild stance with the dual weild stance, since you can deal more damage, and block while throwing.
Happy Star Wars Day Andrew!
hey Andrew, use the force slow ability and you can have some time to heal and get some hits on the bosses
I am playing on Grandmaster for my first Playthrough. Rayvis took me around 100 Tries. Most fun i had in a long time. absolutely fabulous boss battle. The second phase is exhilerating!
(Currently standing before the Final Boss)
@Scandalmiez Thanks. Did it within 20-25 Tries. He was actually not that hard one you got the attacks in the later phases down.
Another amazing video
10:54 i love BD😂😂
I love running the Obi-Wan hair and beard as well. Just make Cal feel like a Jedi master.
Yeah I also gave my Cal the Obi wan beard plus the jedi robes.
the laser beam mission reminds me of the force unleashed
5:38 BRO WHAT WAS THAT PARRY
G’day mate… Have a nice flight! 😂
Try on the duelist jacket with the headband hair, looks really good
I love Ravis because he is a respectable character having true loyalty and giving us some cooler info about his species. Also the death count is now 23
Neat I’m on the first try on Jedi Master, but his second phase almost got me. It was close.
The Jedi robes are on Jedha. They’re on the path during your second visit so you must have missed them
I think someone else mentioned it already, but you can touch the magic glow yellow thing to get more health.
If you wanna know on jedi grandmaster all you have to do is parry most of his attacks I was using practically only double bladed stance for this fight and i didn't notice it but on jedi grandmaster he also heals really slowly
Viewers: oh gosh UA-cam recs are boring lately
Star Wars Content: *Hello There!*
11:42 best part
also jedi robes are in jedah temple quest, not easy to miss
If you want the Jedi robe it is on Jedha up some stairs before you fight the first DT sentry droid
This is so good
We should not have had Durge be our first introduction to a Gen’dai
Hes not the norm of the species and its made everyone think otherwise
Believe it or not, On grandmaster I only yelled once on this fight 😂
someone tell him the jedi robes are on jedha
if you destroy a gen-dais brain they die.
To everyone subscribed to bombastic may the forth be with you
Even on grandmaster i used all 7 of my stims for very single try for this fight, GREAT boss fight
Some how it took me like 2-3 times to beat Rayvis with the so glue blades light saber. On the set difficulty
Amazing video Andrew but anyone else think rayvis sounds like palpating when he says Jedi?
I used double bladed Stance and in the end ray vsis basically killed himself with his blaster bolts
Andrew by the way you should use the focused parry skill to defeat Rayvis
mista bombastic bomba fantastic
Everything later on is nuts. Unfortunately, I can't specify.
This boss fight was so hard
epic serie
I honestly struggled on Padwan 😂 difficulty but it was still fun!
ur struggling on Padawan i play in story mode and I struggle
I’m playing on the second hardest difficulty and fighting reavis with dual blades is some dark souls Sekiro shit
It took me 2 hours to beat Ravis on Grandmaster. I got to the point where I could no damage the first half, but got pretty much instakilled the second half because I couldn't last long enough to practice at all.
im in the same boat first stage easy AF second stage is just manic and i keep dying gave up for tonight after 2 hours of pain
Jedi robes are located on jehda
where can i fin this cool armor set?
Bombastic is on the way to slaughter some enemy’s
Jedi Robes can be found on Jedha 🙂
When I finally completed the first stage on Jedi Master and saw that there was a second stage, I tried 3-4 more times, getting the second state to half health or something,, and then switched to story mode because I got fed up lmao
I'm playing on Grandmaster, and I beat first phase first try and I went "Oh, this must not be the difficult Revas fight everyone's talking about" only for a slap in the face when I started phase 2 with no stims
Lmao every time I finish a segment of the game, I check UA-cam and you’ve just uploaded that same segment.
W I haven’t watched it yet but W🔥🔥🔥
Wow that was a short episode haha
I played the game on jedi master and had to lower it every boss fight but the normal enemies where at the difficulty I wanted the bosses were just to strong for the difficulty level 90% of the time
Cal looks like my dad
Why does cal now look like jesus
Took me about 7 attemts to kill rayvis on padawan and some How beat the last dagen fight first try
I love your videos, especially with jedi Survivor. I can't wait for you to reach the ending. Itll be awsome, to see you play it.
He doesn’t use force slow enough
The Jedi robes are on jedha
Keep up the good work Andrew love your videos!
May the 4th be with you!
Some how I managed to beat this boss with Jedi knight and 4 stims total
Oh the pains Andrew, been playing through the game on Jedi grandmaster all the way through, I spent hours on this guy just beat him today and this giving me flashbacks!!!😂
I’m doing grandmaster too, I fought Rayvis last night. Took me an hour to realize using the force dash to dodge his attacks and land some hits
@@Das1StukMeelon huh I never even thought of that, spent the whole time parrying then sneaking in a single attack just to stop his health regen
@@phantomwolf.5015 yeah parrying and dashing were my saving graces lol
Wait, Rayvis has regen? I never noticed.
@@NarrowSpark96 yeah, it’s minimal but if you don’t land many strikes for a while you can tell. Perks of being a Gen’Dai I guess
I’ll only watch the full run through
There is actually a jedi outfit. I found it but I cant remember where 😂
Jedah
Is the game still broken because I want to play but I didn't have a pc
love u
17:39 I do not understand why he is struggling with this, I was on the same difficulty, 4 fewer stims
Oh and I beat him on the first try
