We absolutely love your videos. The way you create them puts the place front and centre and your commentary compliments it perfectly and never dominates. Still love the Lundy visit
I have lived in Devon all my life but never been to Lundy Island. I will have to put it on my bucket list

Thanks for a bit of nostalgia, Abbie. I spent a week there with a group of friends way back in 1966. Some of them had brought guitars, and when we went down to the Marisco Tavern one evening, we were asked by the owner to play for him and his wife 'cos it was their anniversary. The island was privately owned at that time by a chap called Albion Harman. Lovely people, beautiful place. Thanks again, Leslie in Norfolk
Lundy is such a special place. I have been lucky enough to stay on the Island in one of the Landmark Trust cottages. It is an amazing experience in both winter and summer and when there are no day trips you really feel like you have the Island to yourself. Can't wait to go back. Great video, loved it when you couldn't see the lighthouse!
Wow Abbie that was absolutely fantastic viewing, great footage of a beautiful island and very well presented. Great stuff I’ve subscribed to you and looking forward to checking Your videos out 🙌 Thank you for sharing 🙌
Thanks Abbie, we have just returned from a great 4 days on Lundy, inspired by watching your video :) We hope to go back again soon too! Best wishes, Catherine & Adriano
Love following your walks Abbie. Your enthusiasm is infectious. It makes me think more about the things around me when I’m out walking my dog here in New Zealand.
I've been to Lundy twice but my ferry went from Barnstaple. Have they changed the route? Superb film Abbie. You're right - it's a magical place and really needs two days to explore properly. Thank for taking me along. The wild life is amazing. I don't think you can see so many different birds and animals in such a small space.
Stunning video Abbie. I went there many years ago on a photo trip and stayed the night in the old Pig Sty that used to serve the other lighthouse on the island. On the way over we spotted some Basking sharks and the captain stopped mid-channel to allow us to watch them for a few minutes. Unforgettable memories.
Fantastic video Abbie! I've never been to Lundy Island, but as a keen flight simmer I just flew from Newquay Airport to Lundy in Microsoft Flight Simulator in virtual reality and immediately came on UA-cam afterwards to find out more about it. This documentary was really well done, and I appreciated all the natural history insights. Will definitely watch more of your videos!
I just read about Lundy from an article on BBC and I found that interesting. I went to UA-cam and searched for Lundy and I found your video. I love your TMB video ang I enjoy this video too. Thank you.
Lundy Island another place to view thanks Abbie or trip today19th September 2920.Harbours always great places to view.Chapel and lighthouses are’s great places to see.Mum lived on Anglesey nice picturesque place to live on.Wildlife a joy to see. History of the Island of interest today thanks.time limit on this trip a shame for all viewers today.Cliffs great thanks for birds and seals today love sea views now no mist.
Nice video, captures very well a place I have visited over 20 times, each time for between 2 and 5 nights. I hope you go back and stay, there is always something new and interesting to discover!
I Love watching your walks thank you Abbie for sharing them with us. I have got to say I never realized we got Tiger Sharks off the U.K coast. Thank you again and please keep these beautiful videos coming. One Love to All .
There has never been a confirmed sighting of a Tiger Shark off the UK coast... If one was seen that would be HUGE news! I'd guess the Tiger Shark comment was humour riffing off what the diver jokingly said earlier; the diver was looking for seals, sharks and tigers!
Excellent video. We went in 2014 and loved it. Would definitely suggest staying for a few days as there is so much that just needs to be gazed at for a couple of hours.
Absolutely fearless standing on that cliff in that wind. You need to be careful not just because ever life in precious, because selfishly there’s a lot of people like me that could watch you walk and talk forever. Can’t wait for your videos, each one just pulls you in to a new amazing story. People are like books, pretty much the same on the outside. With there own unique story’s on the inside. I’m so glad you share yours
Something else to add to my list when I come over to the UK in the next few years to walk Lands End to John o Groats. A trip and a night or two in the campsite on Lundy as my route will pass Ilfracombe at the end of the first week.
Abbie, Been working through your vast and magnificent collection of gorgeous and inspiring walks. You said that you were going back? When you took the path north, you did not actually take the most eastern path! It is a safe path and it starts near the big white house by a small coastal hut. Also! When you got near to the North Lighthouse and looked down the steps, there are some supply ship steps to the right, safe to descend but not obvious. Those seals seem to hang out down there. Plus! Get to the top of the middle light house! Gareth
Awesome video thanks, I went for the day in August of last year, I live in Westward Ho!, so see Lundy island every day from the sea front, thought it was about time I went, great place, bought back the memory, thanks.
Went there in the early nineties; would love to go back and stay for a few days. Do you know what they say in Woolacombe? "lf you can see Lundy, it's going to rain. If you can't, it's already raining."
Great video. I've had the pleasure of visiting and staying on Lundy twice, 3 days each time. Well done in getting to the far end of the island and back in the allotted time. I know how long that walk can take with all the beautiful distractions. I spent a whole day exploring and zig zagging up and down just one side of the island. You must have walked so fast! I look forward to watching your other videos 😊
Lovely video, it is worth camping on the island for at least a couple of nights. There is so much to see, which you just haven’t got time for on a day trip. It is also much quieter when all the day visitors have left.
We visited Lundy just last week -- it was great! Nice video, too! It was kind of scary to watch you try to get to the northern light house by climbing down the rocks! Intellectually, I knew you survived, or the video wouldn't have gotten uploaded to UA-cam, but still, made me nervous! Our visit to Lundy didn't have any mist at all while were there. Weather was very good.
Great video Abbie, my wife and I were in Ilfracombe a couple of weeks ago - I must say we didn't really "get" Verity either. That's Damian Hirst for you!
Interesting Island with lots of different animals with which to interact and enjoy. To bad that the visibility was so restricted but that seems to be normal and reminded me of the State of Maine in the U.S. Thanks again for taking us along on your journey. Great video.
Very enjoyable film Abbie! I love going to islands, especially Lundy and first went there when small boats used to come out and ferry passengers in from a larger ship. On that first trip, the weather deteriorated while we were there and we nearly got stranded there. Another time, the sea was like a lake for sailing there and back. Have just booked a week there next year and can't wait!
Abbie, great tour as usual and thank you so much for your efforts that not only pass on the beauty of a location but it's history, indigenous plant and animal life. What happens if you miss the boat departure???????????
Thanks for watching and the comment. Honestly, I have no idea! But since the pub is always open I'm sure you could kip there for a couple of days! Or I guess the boat waits, hence the number cards...?!
Ha Ha - bed hair! Excellent video and what an interesting place (despite the crowds which, like you, I am not keen on)...well worth staying for a couple of days. Did you have to book the ferry in advance or did you just turn up? The camp site looked OK. Any idea what facilities it has and how much it costs? Do you know anything about the building at 19:25? I must say your video has whet my appetite.
Thanks for watching and the comment! I don't know anything about the camp site actually but you'd have to certainly factor in the ferry cost. Or a helicopter of course!!! Probably some info on Google, or give the ticket people a call - they were very helpful :)
Thank you for an interesting and lovely video from Lundy. My friend and I were watching it out in the distance as we were walking from Westward Ho! and almost all the way to Padstow, wondering how the island really is. I didn't know it is possible to camp there. That could be a plan some day :-) And how interesting to know that Lundy is the old Norse word for puffin. The Norwegian word for puffin today is lundefugl, and "fugl" means "bird" :-) I didn't know the connection.
Great atmosphere around the place. As one chap said: you either feel it or you don't, and its quite impossible to explain. Lundy reminded me of Sark, CI. If you haven't been there yet I highly recommend.
Fantastic Abbey, I really enjoyed watching this. It was absolutely first class. How you don't have a series on the BBC God only knows. Sorry you didn't see any puffins or tigers for that matter. You have a new subscriber.
Just spent a week looking over at Lundy, now wish I’d gone after watching this amazing video (though I certainly didn’t have the shoes for it) A great video!
Great video. The MS Oldenburg also stocks the island with groceries etc and i think it collects waste too. She is a flat bottomed river boat, not really designed for the sea, so sometimes she can bob around a bit. i live in Bideford, it sails from there too, next time go from here, Bideford has loads of history. By the way at 18:18 behind the sheep, i think that looked like a puffin.
Well done Abbie, and thanks for sharing. I spent a week on Lundy, staying at the old lighthouse building, in the mid 90's. The weather was fantastic (not trying to brag) and the Rock climbing on the Sea cliffs very enjoyable... shame you didn't get to see the Devils slide....
I remember having a fish and chips in Ilfracombe a few years ago, never knew this place existed otherwise I would of gone and checked it out, when lockdown is over I will have to go.
Really enjoyed your video Abbie. We are going to stay on Lundy in a few weeks time. Watching your video has really 'wetted my appetite' for the trip. I'm looking forward to the time when the Oldenburg sails away leaving us on the island! Did you know about the 'letterboxing' on Lundy - a sort of 'treasure hunt' to discover the interesting places on the island !

The Sulphur-bellied WARBLER has just turned up there on Lundy! WOW WOW WOW!!! I’m here just seeing what it’s like there. What a place!!
I lived on Lundy for six months in 1986 working for the National Trust. A beautiful little island and so unique in many ways.

I will be tripping over there soon❤️❤️❤️. Beautiful serene 💃. Nice video. Thkx.
I love how you have a smile on your face all through this video even when it's very early and when it's cold wet and windy
Your enthusiasm for exploring the beauty of this world is so infectious. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks for watching! Stay WILD!
7th February 2020 out in the wilds of Angus and heard the years first skylark. Spring is on its way. Keep inspiring young lady.
Imagine living on that island during this pandemic
Love Lundy island stayed there in the 80s thanks for the video Abbie

Great trip Abbie thanks for sharing - a lot of variety in a small slice of coast.
Awesome video thanks, I went for the day in August of last year, I live in Westward Ho!, so see Lundy island every day from the sea front, thought it was about time I went, great place, bought back the memory, thanks.
My favourite thing abut Westward Ho! is the name - legendary! Thanks for the comment!

It's the magic of the place that makes three miles seem like ten! So much to see in a tiny place.

I shall be for sure! Probably in October. Stay WILD!

Great video Abbie. I’m going to Lundy next week. Do you have a go pro camera?
I remember having a fish and chips in Ilfracombe a few years ago, never knew this place existed otherwise I would of gone and checked it out, when lockdown is over I will have to go.
Reminds me a bit of taking the ferry out to Nantucket
New subscriber here, only found your channel a few days ago. Great videos Abbie, keep it up.
Welcome to the tribe!
Somewhere I always wanted to visit
Really enjoyed your video Abbie. We are going to stay on Lundy in a few weeks time. Watching your video has really 'wetted my appetite' for the trip. I'm looking forward to the time when the Oldenburg sails away leaving us on the island! Did you know about the 'letterboxing' on Lundy - a sort of 'treasure hunt' to discover the interesting places on the island !
Enjoy your trip! I didn't know but sounds ace!
In Cymru, Lundy is known as Ynys Wair, which translates to ‘Gwair’s Island’. This name references an alternative name for the wizard Gwydion. Cornwall was known as West Wales by the Anglo-Saxons. The pre Anglo-Saxon is where the magic is at. Ynys Wair is also known as Avalon.
did you go up the lighthouse?
Just come back from our third visit to lundy island. Stayed 4 nights. Did you not see any large hairy cows on your trip? One day is definitely not long enough. Great video by the way though I was rather anxious for you when you were climbing over the rocks to get to the North lighthouse as there is a much safer route x
Yay! I love a geology lesson! :-)
Woop!!
Give you a little tip when I’m doing long walks and the weather’s not been that good Put a couple of bin bags in your pocket or in your bag then you can put them over your shoes if you see a Bog like that. The weather was the same when I went there. Enjoyed the video all the best from Terry
A great video, Abbie. I had no idea Lundy was so big.
Have you been to Steep Holm or Flat Holm?
Flat Holm is on the list but they have shut down the boat that goes there due to lack of funding!! Such a shame as was a family run business. But if its on the list is has to happen somehow, someday!
Ah, I'd no idea about that. Such a shame indeed. :-(
Yes definitely go to the Holmes if you can.
I've been looking for an island to use as a location for a horror ttrpg in the 1920s. Came across Lundy and thought it would be perfect.
Cool place for a campsite, and a couple of days stay would avoid the rush!
The late Sir Jack Hayward Wolverhampton Wanderers owner(my club)bought the island some years ago and handed over ownership to the National Trust to protect her and the wildlife👍 R.I.P Sir Jack🙏
Great video, Abbie, and a beautiful island indeed !! But... why don't you just contour the damn damp spots ?? Lol.
I'd probably fall off the edge knowing me. Plus, I like testing my walking on water skills. As you can see, they need a lot of work!!!
Abbie Barnes | Song Thrush Productions Not a specialist either, so I usually try and contour the boggy patches... well, at the beginning; then once your feet are wet, who cares ? 😂😂
I’m a Barnes too 😁✌️

I really enjoyed this despite the fact in the last hour of your trip, with one hour to go, would it turn in a Blair Witch Movie!?
I have stamps from there.
I see why we didn't bother going there 47 years ago...I was over to England in 1977. Will never be going back, so enjoying your walks with you.
Back in the day, went to the Island on the paddle steamer Waverley.- Do not like the statue one bit.
