Dr. David P. Gushee is Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics and Director of the Center for Theology and Public Life at Mercer University, and Chair of Christian Social Ethics Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam/IBTS.
David shares his thoughts and engages in dialogue from his new book "Defending Democracy from its Christian Enemies." David argues that the severe danger to constitutional government, the rule of law, and equal rights for all in our country, is being enabled by many "Christians" who have bought into an authoritarian and anti-democratic stance. People of faith must, David believes, draw upon our deeper traditions to defend democracy from its enemies, including from "Christians" who are endangering it.
